Lee Seon-kyun cast as Kim Hye-soo’s man in crime noir

I like that Lee Seon-kyun (A Hard Day, Miss Korea) working nonstop means that even if he’s mostly doing films, they get released one after the other with some regularity. His newest movie Angry Lawyer is due out in theaters in early October, after which he was due to start filming Love Is a Virus. But that production has been delayed, so he’s signed on to star in the crime noir Precious Woman in the meantime, starring Kim Hye-soo (Chinatown, God of the Workplace) as a mobster and the woman he loves.
Kim Hye-soo headlines as the second-in-command of a crime organization, who uses her sharp business sense to turn their operation into a legitimate company. She grows it into a large, influential conglomerate in the financial world, though I presume that it’ll still be governed by gangster law on the inside. It seems like an obvious choice to cast Kim Hye-soo as the tough-as-nails mob boss, but then again, why cast someone else when you can already imagine her in the role?
Lee Seon-kyun will play the man who loves her, and makes a risky decision for that love. All we’re told is that he’ll begin a fight that he knows he can’t win. I like that the role will combine his new edgier image from A Hard Day with his already well-established status as romantic swoony guy. It seems crazy to go up against the mob for the woman you love, but hell, it probably takes a lot to impress a woman who turned a crime family into a financial player.
Directing is newbie Lee Ahn-kyu. Precious Woman is currently casting supporting actors, and plans to start shooting early next year.

Till this day that song gives me flutters everytime I listen to it. The rawness and huskiness of his voice totally melts in my ears.

Oh, hello you. I thought I was the only one. The song suits him so well.
Did you watch him in 3 meals a day? The old pasta chef in him was somewhat awakened.
I'm glad he's becoming an established movie actor but I hope he'll not pull a Kang Dong won on us.

Oh so that's why they came to "The Throne" VIP Premiere holding hands.. I thought it weird and I didn't even heard dating rumor (before I know all along that Lee Sun Kyun is married guy)
So they'd play a movie together.. Seems a good pairing.

It would be funny if the fight he started he "knows he can't win" is just literally him walking up to that office full of mobsters and trying to give her flowers or ask her out on a date. Hahaha~

"A fight he knows he can't win" can only mean a tragic end for his character. In any case, this sounds completely different from anything he's played before so I am definitely interested. Coincidentally both leads' latest co-star has been Kim Go-eun.

I remember how Taecyeon fascinated by Lee Seo Kyun voice. So am I! I will watch this for LSK, because of his voice & he resemble Uhm Tae Woong that I really miss to watch in movie (not a good reason to watch! :D)

I loved Lee Seon Kyun in "Pasta" and I'm currently watching him in "Miss Korea." I hope some of these movies come available for us English-speakers...he's my favorite actor!!

It hasn't come out and like you, I've been waiting forever. I hope nothing is going wrong with the post-production and that we will see it before fall. This description from Hancinema sounds awesome though: Hyeon-jeong, a used-to-be prostitute, is now the NO.2 of the gang which turns into a leading enterprise. Sang-hoon who has been picked up by Hyeon-jeong, becomes the top killer in the gang. Hyeon-jeong is the reason why he bears all the dirty works in the underworld. Dae-sik, a fierce prosecutor, gets caught in a trap by Hyeon-jeong and is now forced to help to build up the gang's business, but seeks for the revenge. Meanwhile, the fatal weakness of Hyeon-jeong, the existence of her hidden son who she secretly gave birth in a prison, is revealed. The boy immediately becomes the target for every opponent including Sang-hoon. Blinded by jealousy, Sang-hoon plans to demolish the gang and negotiates with Dae-sik.
