Song Hye-gyo and Song Joong-ki on the set of Descended From the Sun
by girlfriday
This show has been pretty stingy with the stills, but here’s a peek at Song Hye-gyo (That Winter, the Wind Blows) and Song Joong-ki (Nice Guy) on the set of their new drama Descended From the Sun, the blockbuster human melodrama from hit writer Kim Eun-sook (Heirs, Gentleman’s Dignity, Secret Garden) and the PD of Secret. The KBS drama is planning to be 100% pre-produced and is aiming for a fall broadcast, though the time slot still hasn’t been officially fixed.
The healing romance drama is about a soldier and a surgeon who meet on the front lines in a war-torn country and fall in love. Song Joong-ki plays an elite special forces officer who meets Song Hye-gyo, a charismatic army surgeon, on the battlefield. Kim Ji-won (Gap-dong) and Jin Gu (Falling for Innocence) play another surgeon-soldier pair in a secondary romance.
The stills include shots of the lead couple on set, as well as a cameo from Song Joong-ki’s bestie Lee Kwang-soo (Running Man), who dropped by to shoot a scene as a part-time worker at a carnival game.
The war-torn romance takes place in a fictional country, and the drama is about young people chasing their dreams and finding love while serving overseas in extreme circumstances. Though the blockbuster war action scenes will set it apart, I fully expect it to be a romance first and foremost. Here’s hoping that Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-gyo have some chemistry to make it work.
Descended From the Sun is tentatively slated to follow Strange Daughter-in-Law on Mondays and Tuesdays beginning in late September.

He just got out of the army and the first role he does is a soldier. Wow! hahaha how can he get out of that persona? hehehe but he looks GOOD. REALLY GOOD. And only with that stills, we can see they look great together. I can feel some chemistry! Hope it translates in moving pictures.
I love how the plot goes. It already has a melo feel to it. or rather, the melo feels suit that kind of plot (love in the most unexpected time and place). But please, don't be tragic. No dying at war please. I don't wanna be heart broken. Praying that it's good! Only a few dramas now a days maintain consistency! from promo, to airing and up to the ending. Hoping this is one of that!

Please dont disappoint me...I'm a fan of SHK since Autumn Tale and I think this is the first time she is paired with a younger actor. She doesnt age plus both actors for me is good at their craft so what I'm worried about is KES...I've watched 2 of her dramas, Secret Garden and the heirs.. At first I love the female leads because they are hard working and cant stand up on their own at first but when they meet their leading man, the writer turned them into this soft, crying all the time lead...I dont want that for SHK's character in this drama..She's a surgeon and to be able to reach that education, she must be a strong character..so pleaseeeeeeeeeee!spare this female lead KES!!
I do hope this drama does well as I love SHK and this is SJK's comeback drama....please drama gods..:)

Is it only me?? I miss SHG in rom com because i usually watch those kind of dramas only.??... It s bad for me because rain and SHG would probably never be in rom com anymore since she's more into melo and he's more into action kind of movie or dramas... Poor me...
