From BFF to fake boyfriend in The Time I’ve Loved You
by girlfriday
I don’t think we’ll be lacking for any chemistry in this drama — at least that one thing seems set. The latest teaser and stills for SBS’s new rom-com The Time I’ve Loved You finally show us an actual glimpse of the drama to come, from high school shenanigans to dating woes as adults. More importantly, they show our two leads together, which you wouldn’t think would be so difficult in a drama that’s entirely about two people who have been glued to each other for 17 years.
Ha Ji-won and Lee Jin-wook star as best friends who’ve been two peas in a pod for half their lives, but begin to struggle with their feelings when new love interests enter the picture. There will be a number of them throughout the series, including Infinite’s L, Yoon Kyun-sang, and Chu Soo-hyun.
The newest teaser shows the leads all the way back in high school, when they get asked by a friend why they always go everywhere together. (Ha Ji-won sticking her tongue out at Lee Jin-wook and his stompy fit afterwards is the cutest thing.) Fast-forward to adulthood, where Ha Ji-won blushes at her new coworker L’s dimpled smile, and Lee Jin-wook shouts in voiceover: “If you’re 34 you should act your age! Get it together!”
Then Ha Ji-won gets drunk as she waits for Lee Jin-wook to come home and hiccups, “Because I’m prickly? Because I have a strong personality? Because I’m not nice? Am I a pain in the ass?” But when her boyfriend says she’s just a stalker and breaks it off with her, she cries to Lee Jin-wook: “The reason I got dumped is you, you jerk!” Lee Jin-wook: “That’s why I came! I’ll pretend to be your new boyfriend!” Aw, what’re best friends for, right?
The Time I’ve Loved You airs on Saturdays and Sundays beginning June 27.

pls tell me the female lead won't use her "aegyo voice", the whole time. I absoluetely adored Ariel lin in "In time with you", she was amazing, outstanding, strong and independent - pls don't ruin it.
Am I the only one who's kinda interested how they'll turn L's original role around, it was my favourite'? But there is no way they will stick to it.

I don't want to spoil anything, so, I'll keep this vague.
But I don't think they'll change L's role from the original (cf. his bandmate).

maybe...but it'd be a bit too heavy for the Korean taste and might make some of his fans angry (not me, bc I'd be very proud of my boy tbvh) - especially if they include the scenes after the first 3 eps?

I agree on the 'aegyo voice". I really dislike her voice in this teaser so I hope it's not a frequent thing. I couldn't even finish the trailer because of the voice killed the vibe.

I pretty much hate aegyo, but HJW's aegyo tone is bearable from this trailer.
Her aegyo in Secret Garden was way over the top compared to this.

You can't stand Ha Ji Won's voice? Simple, don't watch her drama and movies, don't even bother to read her news too. There are plenty dramas of your fav star, or movies for you out there to cater your special needs. I just dont get it why haters need to stay and keep complaining a drama that she/he clearly doesn't even like its leads.

Why are u being so defensive? Did I hate on her,did I say anything bad about her? No, I didn't. And for your record,
I love her acting, I love her drama, I loved the original drama and my bias (L) is starring in this one- so tell me one reason why I shouldn't look forward to it? Hm...? So no, I am by far not a hater - why would I hate an amazign actress as her? Bc of the baby voice? I don't so. Do me a favour and google the word "hater" first before throwing it onto whoever disagrees with you about something, or address slight criticism for god's sake.

Wow calm down...it's not the end of the world.
I don't like her ageyo voice (I don't like anyone's ageyo voice) since I think it detracts from the character, but I"m still a fan of hers.
Just because someone doesn't like something doesn't make them a hater of the person.
I like Gong Li but find her smiling really awkward and dislike everytime she tries to smile on screen, doesn't make me a hater.

And nope, I've never worried about chemistry in a HJW drama, she just oozes chemistry and charisma, I think she'd even have great chemistry with a stool.

I'm still scared... to the point where I don't know if I will watch this because I think it might taint my wonderful memories of the original. My two hopes for this drama: (1) functioning relationships with the extended families and (2) a mature adult relationship between the main couple.

After Secret Garden, I noticed, there is a group of haters who will say nasty things towards Ha Ji Won, not because she is a terrible actress, not at all, but because of their own jealousy to her.

I love and hate these dramas. Love them because they are always really cute and fun. I hate them because I had a similar sort of friendship and we did not have a happy ending. He was my best friend for 16 years (from 6 to 22) but it ended when I didn't return his feelings. It's now been almost 15 years since that happened.
So yeah, it hits close to home and I usually cry through these shows.

Now the show has released better teasers. Their poster looks lovely and heartwarming!
The teaser is more revealing to the actual drama.
I think Ha Ji Won's aegyo-infused voice was only when she was drunk.
Not liking Jin Wook's hairstyle when it's parted right down the center.... And I'm distracted by his forehead.

Eeeeek! So excited for this! Partly because I loved ITWY to bits and partly because I adore Ha Ji Won. It looks like we won't have any problems in the chemistry department. ;)
On a side note, I hope they give HJW good outfits in this drama. We don't often see her in modern-day, girly roles so it's a welcome sight. Yes, I am not shy to admit that I'm quite shallow in that part of the reason why I like watching urban-set dramas is the outfits. LOL. Also, I am not liking the center-parted haircut on LJW. Can we please have him sport the side-part for most of the drama? Haha

Lee jin wook is def a handsome guy but his hair style here doesnt do him justice.it just doesnt suit him.he shud sport the same style when he acted in nine.he looked so fineeee in that drama.plus..he looks scarily skinny here.i dont know y korean actors n actresses need to lose a lot of weight when they r filming.not like they r chubby before.n i agree with some comments that say about ha ji won face shape...she looks kinda different

This might be the next drama I'll watch as it airs in Korea (or to accurately put it, as subs are released by the wonderful people of Kdramaland). Can someone tell me whether or not it is a good idea not to watch the original version while waiting for the remake? Or is it fine watching both versions alternately, 2 episodes a week to compare both? Or rather settle on the original first then after the remake has completed, watch it in its entirety? Difficult decisions are mine to make. Whatever, the ladies are my fave actresses though I didn't watch Empress Ki at all and it has been ages ago since They Kissed Again.
