Lee Seung-gi joins the cameo parade on The Producers

I’m pretty sure at this point it’d be faster to round up the celebrities who haven’t cameoed on The Producers, the reality-as-fiction showbiz drama about variety producers on KBS. For the first few episodes, you could hardly go five minutes without seeing a familiar face like Yoon Yeo-jung, Shin Dong-yup, Jang Hyuk, Lee Chun-hee, Yoo Hee-yeol, or JYP, just to name a few.
But of course just when I’m about to ask, Are we done with the cameos now? Lee Seung-gi (You’re All Surrounded) drops by the set. And how can I not look forward to that, especially when he’s reconnecting with his real-life variety roots in the (real but) fictional show within the show, 1 Night 2 Days? Oh how I miss the good ol’ days of Heodang Seung-gi.
The cameo appearance will reportedly be longer than the usual quick drive-by, and he’ll share scenes with IU and Gong Hyo-jin. I really hope that he’s playing himself, since those have been the funnier cameos on Producers — blurring the line between reality and fiction, as they keep reminding us. With Seung-gi’s connection to 1N2D, I can’t imagine they’d let those jokes go to waste.
Lee Seung-gi’s cameo will appear on Episode 6, which airs this Saturday. At least it’s not the Friday episode that goes up against Na PD and Seo-jinnie hyung’s Three Meals a Day? I have a feeling that the real-life fallout from that would be just as entertaining to watch… He’ll just have to make a guest appearance on the farm next week to make it up to them.
The Producers airs Fridays and Saturdays on KBS.

It's always there for WordPress sites :D
But for this update, if you notice, the whole page doesn't reload when you post a comment (I think? Commenting again to see...) So this is good if you're counting your precious MB/data plan usage. Since it only reloads the new comment, and not the whole page, images, banners, ads, etc.

This drama must have really high budget to involve many celebs in it as cameos. I don't care about cameos. I hope the story soon get solid storyline and character developments. Already 4 episodes past, left 8 episodes but still like grabbing here and there.

I didn't even think cameo appearances were paid for - usually they're grabbed due to the close relationship one of the staff or actors have with them right? And it's really free publicity for a tiny bit of their time. Hmmm.

Yeah, I don't think anyone is paid for cameos. I see it being beneficial for both parties. For the show, it is to boast the big personalities they managed to gather. For the actors, it is to be a part of (and promote things in) the most talked about drama of the year thus far. Win-win.

As a variety show fans I like how they do a lot of reference to some show but as drama fan I kinda still can't relate to any of the character. I still don't care about the leads at all, I don't know why. Though the show did a good job on the comedy part.

I would say that I don't care for Cindy and CTH's character. They're just not likable, but I'm interested in seeing their relationships develop with Seung Chan and GHJ's character respectively. But, I do care for these other remaining main leads that I just mentioned and I find them related. Seung Chan is similar to Misaeng's JGR who so many people were able to relate to. They're both timid guys who are trying to survive as newbies at work. They're also both dorky and adorable in a way. I like how GHJ's character puts on a strong front and how we get to see her weak/vulnerable sides.

Btw I think, he will more likely to cameo as top star and as a singer. Did a performance and stuff in MuBank and whatever related to his singing career. Anticipating his new album that will be released this 4th June. :D

I hope he promotes his upcoming album on his way! I don't know which one I want more! A cold celebrity not like his real life personna that relates to Cindy's character, or his adorable self with 1N2D. Since he filmed with IU and Gong Hyun Jin, It has to do with Mu-Ban more.

I really hope they make the connection with 1N2D. But since he's sharing scenes with IU & Gong Hyo-jin, his appearance will probably be on Music Bank for his (real) next album.

I don't think he'll ever make an appearance. All his recent work has been with tvn. How's his relationship with KBS? He has been mentioned a couple times in the earlier episodes.

Why would I ever tire of cameos?? The list better grow larger and larger though it's surreal that they can attract such an insane amount of popular and well known celebrities. Good for me because this show just rocks!
Hope Seung-gi is playing himself and it has something to do with 1N2D. Such a huge waste if he does something else. Maybe he can pair up with Cindy and make Seung-chan jealous :P

This is not LSG's first drama in KBS. He acted in KBS drama Famous Princesses (The Infamous Chill Sisters) in 2006.

Totally excited! Now that the former member comes, the current members have to come too hahaha. I think it will be pretty interesting if they'll talk bad about Taehyun as a 1N2D member in front of Ra Joonmo PD like the real Taehyun's not there. I want to see how Ra PD reacts for that haha.
Well, I'm imagining sorta things since the news about this drama surfaced so I wish they're one by one becoming true, like this one! LOL I kinda expecting that he'll diss the 1N2D new season in this drama for its failure when the first season he's in is a hit, but if he acts as himself then I think he'll be sweet and heodang like he always be, don't you agree?
I can't wait to see Seunggi, I miss him <3

I had the exact same thought. It would be funny if the current 1N2D members cameod and diss CTH. I would so watch that scene.
I dropped the drama halfway through ep.3 . I don't know why I can't seem to connect with the drama. Maybe i'll watch it when i don't have anything better to do.

I hope this show will keep being as good as episode 4, to me that one is perfect with everything - humor, romance, reality and on-screen. Seung Gi is a very interesting addition, I'm thrilled already thinking about all the mashups. And can he evoke some emotions/realizations from Seung Chan toward Cindy please? That would be perfect.

I'm not a huge fan of variety so the inside jokes go through my head... I think the Cameos and inside jokes are starting to clutter the show and makes it a bit disjointed... But I'm probably not the targeted audience.

The show is set in the entertainment world and most of the cameos complete the story whether the actors are playing themselves or not. In ep 3, there were so many but each of them were imp. Like Hello Counsellor to drive home the variety-drama idea. Then the potential 2d1n candidates, JYP and "Suzy", JH as Ye Jin's ex, real 2d1n members, etc. If you take them all out, we wouldn't be left w/ a concrete tale.

Fantastic.
I think I must have watched more variety shows than I thought. Producer is excellent. I found myself laughing so much at so many real life variety moments and references. I could literally feel for BC and Cindy and both the older PDs. Life as a PD is hard. It's seriously funny. And I don't even understand the shakey camerawork comments. Like it's a walking VJ. How do you expect a steady hand? It's not as if the camera is running on tracks like some drama filming.
I like this concept. Much better than the usual fare.

I saw Kim Jong Kook on the last episode, but thought that he was really going to make a drama debut, as in actually having some words to say? Did they decide he should just appear as cameos too instead of really playing a character, does anyone know?

He is not just cameoing, he has a character as a PD for "Open Concert"--The singing show where they round rural areas and doing open concert mostly with trot's singers, if I recall correctly. He plays the PD who really tired of his show and want something more indoor shooting like "vitamin"

The list of Cameo that I'm hoping to see:
Jun Ji Hyun (with her connection to Cha Tae Hyun and Kim Soo Hyun), Cha Seung Won (with his connection to Gong Hyo Jin), Kim Tae Hee, Yoo Ah In, Bae Yong Joon, So Ji Sub, Suzy, Jo In Sung, Joo Won, Uhm Tae Woong, Eum Ji Won, Yoo Jae Suk, Kang Ho Dong, Park Shin Hye, BigBang, and many else..
Those names above are-if my memory serves me right-have in some point been in close working environment with either the actors, actresses, PD and writer of this drama..Except for BigBang, I write them down cuz I read the news that they'll appear in Music Bank to promote their new comeback songs soon, hopefully they stop by the set and cameo for us.

Even before "Producers" aired everyone's doubtful whether Jeon Ji-hyeon will appear. Baek Seung-chan & Ra Jun-mo have their own shares of first love already, and I doubt JJH will add anything new, besides the fact she was both KSH & CTH ladyloves...
