Blind dates and champagne toasts in High Society’s posters and stills

Here’s another batch of stills and posters for SBS’s new Monday-Tuesday drama High Society, starring UEE as a chaebol heiress who defies high society’s rules and Sung Joon as a poor social climber who wants to be part of their world. The heroine pretends to be poor so that she can escape a loveless marriage and find her own match, and the drama will be a contemporary twist on the classic love-vs-money melodrama.
The initial promo material for the show featured a lot of kissing between the leads, and the latest stills feature second lead Park Hyung-shik (What’s With This Family). He plays a chaebol heir who’s friends with Sung Joon, but they live in completely different worlds despite working in the same office.
The stills of the boys together are from a scene in which Park Hyung-shik has just tanked one of his father’s companies, and the responsibility falls on Sung Joon’s shoulders to fix the problem. The hero discovers in that moment that they are fundamentally different, because entire companies could crumble and the CEO’s son would just move on to his next venture, and it makes him determined to change his fate.
Park Hyung-shik meets UEE very differently in the drama — on a blind date set up by their parents, where she shows up looking like she rolled out of a rock star’s van. Which hey, is probably more fun than going on blind dates with stuffy chaebol heirs? She does it purposely so that she gets turned down by all the men her parents set her up with, and already that makes me like her. Why she gets a glass of water dumped on her head is a mystery, but I hope she gets to say something delightfully snarky for it.
High Society comes from the producers of A Warm Word, and Im Ji-yeon (Obsessed) co-stars. It premieres June 8 following Heard It Through the Grapevine.

that adds some complexity to sungjoon's character.. hyungshik looks just as adorable <3 plenty of bromance, and no love triangles please!

Pressure from the sick world of Korean film, popmusic destroyed her wonderful honey legs.
I saw her in Golden Rainbow and i liked that she had big thighs, curves down there compared stick thin idols, actresses of her generation.
Shame she had to became like all the others....

When i see 1st teaser for Uee&Sungjoon.. i guess the chemistry really good.. but why when i see Hyungshik pouring a glass of water to Uee.. the chemistry also really good.. this girl really!!!

I kind of wonder why they add horse in the poster.... and the lamp. They stand to the side, giving more space to a lamp. It's awkward. Anyway, hope this will be good

Am I the only one who is torn on what her or not they want to see this? I mean I always pay attention to reviews do I can see it later but I should decide if I want to watch it as it comes out. I do like the actors even though I think they can be hit or miss, and the trailers seem fun.....but in terms if overall plot I feel like this might just be lacking and kind of filler. I don't know. I'll just enjoy the teasers for now.

You and me both. Just the other day I was thinking about how I wouldn't mind this being just a photshoot or commercial for something. I am not buying the plot but I just love looking at the the cast.
There's only one way to know the answer to our dilemma : watch the first episode(s?) and then decide if we wanna go all the way or just go back to watching the teasers on loop :D

I don't know from where stems my irrational fondness for Uee, but I just love her. And I'm totally digging her styling in all of the promo pictures.
As for Sung Joon, tbh, after White Christmas I thought he would turn into a bona fide movie star by now. I'm a bit baffled by the fact that he mostly played 2nd leads. Hope this will be his big break out. :)
Fingers crossed this drama turns out good and gets good ratings!

He is 24 year olds and he isnt an idol those young talented actors have to work years to become movie stars, drama star. They dont have K-pop hype behind them. Its only Suzy, Lee Seunggi idols who became big drama, movie stars when they are young.
I mean Lee Min Ho just became movie star and he is older.
Also he isnt a skinny, alien looking flower boy like Kim So Hyun who got a lucky break with box office hit.

Well to be fair Seunggi was never an idol. He debuted as a singer, but then went on to do acting, variety, MCing, etc. Also I wouldn't say LMH *just* became a movie star. His period of fame started with BOF and that was in 2009, when he was 22. Lastly, KSH is not an unhealthy type of skinny, he's actually pretty normal so I don't know where that came from.
I'm just saying, I love Sung Joon too and I'm just waiting for his big hit, but there's no need to put down other people because of it.

I'm just so so excited for this to take over from IHTTG. It looks like it'll be the good kind of makjang - unlike Mask *shudders* Really looking forward to Uee and Sung Joon. They have so much chemistry radiating through just the pictures. I can't wait to see it full force in the drama.

Hmmm are they friends or bro-frenemies?? Lol, I think I would like the latter more. You don't get to see it too often between guys and I imagine men also have situations where they have to be cordial and act like they're cool but actually may sort of hate each other, ahaha.
I think this looks great. A soap-opera for the youngsters kinda, I'm looking forward to it. :) I already like Uee's character and she has a sarcastic charm I like when she has to bring out the snark.

I am so pumped up for this! Maybe it's just me and my bias for Sung Joon speaking here, but ahhh he looks way too good in all these stills! Especially the last three. I hope show will score some pretty good ratings and he ends up being more popular than he is right now haha! :'D

SJ is looking better as he is starting to fill out and losing some of that beanpole look.
Never quite got why UEE became known as a great beauty (she wasn't even among the top 3 in After School), but I guess that's the power of "honey thighs."
The 2nd leads are attractive.

They did a good job in the teaser promotion and I hope this drama delivers well. We must always know that not all that looks good in the promotional stills can have the same effect when the drama actually airs.

Am hoping for the second leads (Park Hyung Sik and Im Ji Yeon) to have their own love line too. They were on Law of The Jungle together, and they were cute!

Hyungsik's character likes Ji Yeon. I don't see them as a CP in Law of the Jungle as Hyungsik said his impression of her is a "hyung" haha. Ji Yeon does really well adapting to the jungle.
But i am hoping they will have good chemistry in this drama.

Oh I can't wait to see Park Hyung-shik act like a jerk. There's so much raw talent in this kid, I know he'll do great. I'm not too fond of the leads, but it's not the first time I've watched a drama for the secondary characters *cough The heirs cough*, so I can't wait until it premieres.
