Park Bo-gum in talks to join Hello Monster
by girlfriday
After losing Lee Jin-wook, KBS’s summer Monday-Tuesday drama Hello Monster is still on the hunt for a leading man. Meanwhile, Jang Nara (Fated To Love You) and Lee Chun-hee (Dating Agency Cyrano) are still considering starring roles, and now Park Bo-gum (Cantabile Tomorrow, Roaring Currents) has been offered a supporting role on their special police task force. I don’t know if having the drama pushed back to the summer slot has slowed the casting progress, but it’s good to see that there’s momentum again.
Hello Monster is the new drama from the writer of Protect the Boss and the PD of All About My Romance. It’s a romantic comedy that sounds like a crime thriller on paper: A woman stalks a man, and they end up being detectives who have to work together to solve cases. They hide their emotions while being forced to cooperate on a special task force, and bickering turns to love. Minus the stalking, I guess it’s your average opposites-attract cop partnership.
Jang Nara has been cast as the cop with a stalking hobby (or who knows, maybe it’s for her job!), and Lee Chun-hee is up to play the task force team leader. Park Bo-gum is considering a role as an elite detective on the squad. He’s really good at being the bright-eyed, bushy-tailed young soldier who tears your heart out with his soulful eyes (remember him in Gaksital?), though in this role we might get to see a sharper side. Park Bo-gum often gets tiny roles but he does such a great job with them and I always find him memorable, so it’s nice to see him getting bigger parts. I might not have wanted him to get the girl in Cantabile Tomorrow, but I certainly wanted him to get his happily ever after.
Supporting players also include Choi Won-young (Kill Me, Heal Me) as a police forensic specialist and professor, and EXO’s D.O (It’s Okay, It’s Love) as the childhood counterpart to the hero. More than any of the other upcoming shows, I feel like I need a trailer before I can begin to figure out whether this drama intends to be a thriller with a side of hijinks or a rom-com with cops and mayhem. On the upside, neither option sounds bad.
Hello Monster follows Who Are You–School 2015 on Mondays and Tuesdays in June.

same here! I really love him in Naeil's Cantabile. Honestly, I wasn't interested in Hello Monster at all. The storyline don't seemed to be my cup of tea but I really missed him in dramaland. :D I can't wait to see him in Hello Monster.

i found something attractive in him which is x-factor in becoming a star and he got it. I believe that he gonna be top star if he keep getting bigger part because he always great in it. Plus, i found him got almost a same vibe like song joong ki and yoo seung ho from him; nice but can be evil behind that innocent smile. Not too good looking but enough to make audience keep interested. Gonna look forward for him. Plus, he is still young!!

Park Ki Woong is in the military service. I think he will return in January 2016 or something. Can't wait, loved him in Secretly Greatly and Bridal Mask!
