Lee Jin-wook confirms The Time I’ve Loved You with Ha Ji-won

Finally, leads are confirmed! Lee Jin-wook has officially signed on to SBS’s upcoming weekend drama and In Time With You remake The Time I’ve Loved You, 7000 Days, opposite Ha Ji-won (she’s been circling the project for a while and assumed to be a lock, but it’s always nice to get the final word).

The drama follows two longtime childhood friends (Lee Jin-wook and Ha Ji-won) as they mature through their twenties and into their thirties together, dating other people before they finally realize they ought to be together. Or perhaps it’s more that they actively have feelings for each other but are thwarted by bad timing or missed windows, since Lee Jin-wook’s character is described as “constantly failing in romance because of his friend of twenty years, Jang Hana (Ha Ji-won).” Aw, was he just friendzoned and unable to navigate his way out?

I was excited when Lee Jin-wook was first mentioned in connection with this drama, then confused when Rain was also announced as a contender, and back to happy with Lee Jin-wook. He’s got a dry sense of comic delivery and an exasperating charm that I always enjoy (even if it sometimes makes you want to throttle him. Or kiss him. Or both). (Also, I guess Rain’s now lost both his casting opportunities, since Yoo Yeon-seok took on Warm and Cozy. I like Rain well enough, but I’m not really sad about either case.) So yay!

The Time I’ve Loved You, 7000 Days will be scripted by a writer familiar with rom-coms (Min Hyo-jung wrote Full House and Rooftop Prince), and directed by Jo Soo-won of I Hear Your Voice and Pinocchio. It’ll premiere in June on SBS, after Divorce Lawyer in Love.

So the wedding bells were really true? Rain rejecting two high profile dramas can only mean he's getting married which makes me sad both for personal reasons and the drama as well haha.

Now that Lee Jin-wook is in, I'm out because the guy is as boring as boring gets. He's Nam Goong-min level meh to me on all fronts for sure. I'm still upset about Gong Yoo, but I wish they tried Go Soo! I do realize I sound like a broken record on play but I can't help it, heh. At least there's a bunch of other great dramas coming up - like Producers for one!!

I'm with you on the Gong Yoo train - I prayed to the drama lords for him but alas, my prayers went unheard.

I've not been impressed with Lee Jin Wook in anything thus far. Tends to have the same facial expression IMO. I loved In Time With You wayyyyy too much that part of me is just sheer afraid of remakes after the Nodame Cantabile incident Korea had.

Ditto. Lee Jin Wook is such a bore, and one dimensional too. I still feel doozy thinking of his I Need Romance portrayal. Rain would have at least brought in variety and laughs. Bolin Chen is the best actor of his generation in Taiwan/China. What were the casting people thinking offering Li Da Ren to someone like Lee Jin Wook? Maybe no one wanted to take on a weekend slot getting only 3% for the past year. Rain rejected, maybe many others did in the background as well. Otherwise, I don't get the logic with getting Lee Jin Wook who is unpopular and not a good actor.

Unpopular opinion - I do not like Lee Jin Wook for the role. Of course I do love him as an actor but the role needed a more innocent charm and one of his forte's dry wit is not a part of the original character. Maybe I love the original Li Da Ren way too much? Either way, I am glad it's not Rain (good lord!) but this decision makes me kinda sad.

I like him in the role but I agree about his dry wit and think he'll have to dial down the smirky charm a little. Just wish they could have waited for Gong Yoo to finish his movie. :)

Required fields are marked *

Well, I think the original Li Da Ren was lacking spine. So, Lee Jin Wook's wittier charm might make his version of Li Da Ren MORE appealing to me.

...then again, would I really BELIEVE the story-line with Jin Wook in that role????!!! Cos honestly, who are we kidding? ANY woman looking at Lee Jin Wook would fall for him, don't you think? He would only need to be ever so SLIGHTLY charming, and then it'd be 'game over,' no?

Nevertheless, I'm excited more for Jin Wook than Ha Ji Won.

I have a feeling I'm going to pull my hair out by the end of this, just based on the angst and dramatic OST in first 2 episodes haha

Aw. So it will start in childhood, huh? I thought they'' start off in high school--where these two hate each other at the beginning (Ariel Lin's character had something against the boys in her class back then), and eventually became friends since they were classmates in college. As of the moment, I think I liked that better--where they started off as friends in high school--but I guess I've yet to see how it'll play out in the Korean version with the start on childhood (Will the development be as awesome as Shi-won and Yoon-jae's in 1997? Hehe). I hope it plays out well. I wouldn't do the comparison thing, but I did love In Time With You, and I hope this Korean version gives justice to it ;)

Lee Jin Wook is meh actor. I watched him in several dramas, such as Three Musketeers, Myung Wol The Spy, Nine, Air City and I Need Romance. Until now, Nine was the best of his performance. The rest drama, I watched for the sake of his co-stars..LOL..He just sooooo bland and emotionless... His intonation when speaking also just flat. Not saying Rain is better than him either. But, can't team production give offer to better actor for pairing with Ha Ji Won? Or team production is too over confidence that Ha Ji Won herself could attract the people?
