I must be the only person on dramabeans to not like him :( This was actually the only vampire drama that I was looking forward to, but not anymore if he accepts.
For some reason I just don't find his acting believable.
*runs very, very fast to get away from the angry fans*

Lee Jun Ki is a fantastic actor all around but there's just something perfect about his n in sageuks. I also really like the idea of him and Han Groo together. So as long as the production is solid as well, I'm in.

oooooooh I want this now! Oppa please accept, even if I see you more as a fairy prince than a vampire the stunts will be badass and NO ONE looks hotter than Lee Jun-ki in a hanbok.

And I would really like to see him with Han Groo too. I guess the casting is purposely skewing older for the male lead after Park Hae-jin, but Han Groo can certainly hold her own against an older lead, look at Marriage Not Dating.

I hope LJK accepts it, this is the best news ever today :D

AAAAAAA when I first saw LJK photo up there, i already thought of that manhwa bc i read it, but i didnt know that it was true!!!! seriously he looks exactly like the lead character omgomgomgomgomg

I think LKJ is great, but I think KSH and PHJ would have worked just as well too. Plot sounds interesting, but I can't help but wonder why the other two rejected the role. Is it the PD? Writer?

My first choice is Ji Chang-Wook but if they can't get him then Lee Ju-Ki would be my 2nd choice! So if LJK takes the role I wouldn't be disappointed.

I personally think the premise sounds really fun. I've always liked the cross-dressing cliche.

The synopsis of the manhwa if someone is intrested in the plot

Synopsis

A vampire scholar and a bookseller come together to fight against a conspiracy

An authority figure Gwee who controls the Joseon dynasty behind the scene is actually a vampire. Motivated by his avarice, Gwee conspires to obstruct the crown prince’s accession to the throne.

On the other hand, there’s a righteous vampire named Seongyeol who has been living as scholar for 150 years. He has locked himself in his studies for many years, and there are rumors amongst the villagers that he’s just an old man with leprosy.

In order to hide his true identity, Seongyeol never lets a bookseller revisit his place. But he makes an exception to the rule for a smart and decisive bookseller Yangsun. i can see lee jun ki with the vampire eyes, but i don't think i'd like the fangs on him...

I think they would be BRILLIANT casting together. LJK has a black belt and Han Groo was impressive in Girl K. Together they would be awesome! I like both actors. I hope they accept the roles.

Oh my dear Lord..I actually thought of Junki when Park Haejin turned down the offer...Eeeeeee!!!! Dammit I couldn't contain my excitement...please please let this happen...I swear Junki is the best when it comes to sageuks and why yes, I am spoiled by him when it comes to action scenes because I keep comparing other actors to him when they can't do scenes as well as Junki does..

Lee Jun-ki is a puzzle to me. I really like him and think he is a good actor but I haven't been able to finish any of his post army dramas. I dropped both Arang and Joseon Gunman about halfway through their run. Two Weeks is one of the two K-dramas I have actually dropped half way through the final episode. That Winter the Wind Blows was the other one. And yet I love his pre-army stuff. Time Between Dog & Wolf, The King and the Clown and Fly Daddy Fly remain favourites and he doesn't overact in them. I have a hard time figuring it out.

I think the problem is that he seems to choose roles that are just too young for him post army. He looks great (if way too thin for my particular tastes but that's just me) but he's in his 30's now with his national service behind him and he's a man, not a boy. Some actors give off a boyish vibe well into their 30's or later but LJK isn't one of them. I'd love to see him move into more mature roles like in a contemporary adult romantic comedy, as an anti-hero or even as an outright bad guy. At least the role in the vampire drama is a scholar and not the ubiquitous student so just maybe he's going to pay his age. I really am a fan so I will check it out regardless.
