Oh Snap! Yoo Seung-ho released from army duty

Admittedly, these two photographs aren’t much. On the other hand, if you’re a fan of Yoo Seung-ho (I Miss You, Arang and the Magistrate, Operation Proposal, Warrior Baek Dong-soo, Flames of Ambition, God of Study), awaiting his discharge from military service, maybe they’re everything.
You know your starpower is something else when you voluntarily enlist for army duty at the ripe old age of 20 (rather than pushing the rules to their upper limit of 28) because you’ve risen to such heights that there aren’t really any more leading roles suitable for your age range that you may as well get the obligation over with now. I don’t even know if it’s a good or bad thing that Yoo Seung-ho looks pretty much exactly the same as when he left. Yoo has already lined up his first post-army project with the period fusion movie Joseon Magician… but really, I’m itching to see what drama he picks next. Let’s hope it’s a good one.

He's only 21 and got his military service out of the way already AFTER proving his acting chops/leading man ability, there's going to be no stopping him!

....and now there's also a fresh wave of age-appropriate and talented young actresses who'd make great leads with him, I mean I love him but it was kind of absurd seeing him opposite Yoon Eun-hye and Seo Woo** in roles he was too young for. (Park Eun-bin reunion please?!)
**and I do like both these actresses too but sometimes a 19 year old playing a 25 year old just doesn't work.

I think enlisting at such an early (for a celebrity) age was a genius marketing decision. Not only is he a certified noona-killer, he now has major respect from regular Korean men.

yeah, doing military service well is a big deal in Korea and I can understand why.
I don't think celebrities who serve at a later age are thought of poorly as long as they serve, but he and Song Joong-ki did (and SJK is still doing) active duty, and that seems to win major respect points, judging by the reaction to Hyun Bin serving in the Marines.

i think it's because of financial problem. YSH have been acting since child, so, he probably have some savings and his fanbase has been strong. compared to other artist, especially idol, it would be a problem for them to do it early, because their fanbase are not strong enough, and they have to pay all those bills (like trainee bill or something).

Ep 1-7 has +/- 100 comments, but then ep 8 came and everyone posted once, twice or hundred times. It's already surpassed 1000+ comments. I also wonder why the comments were exploded in the last 2 eps.

Yes he is back! I am pleased yet disappointed that he chose a film as his comeback because that means that we have to wait longer to be abke to see it and also that he wont be back on oir screena for a little while longer!
Its funny cos I was going to Paris around the time it was announced that he was going to europe for a photoshoot but since I didnt know where he was going I didnt think much of it. But to thibk we were in the same city at the same time?! I cant believe I missed that....

Super smart for fulfilling his military commitment early. At his age, it was probably easier for his body to endure the rigors of military exercises.
Not that 28 is old, but 8 years more of wear and tear on a body does make a difference. And, that's just normal wear and tear.

Park Shin Hye, Jung So Min, Han Groo, Park Eun Bin, Park Se Young, Go Ara, Kang So Ra...
Can't wait to see his next drama too! Hopefully in age-appropriate drama, something like college drama or intern workers ala Misaeng. He was unconvincing playing 25 years old Harry Borrison in IMY because he has baby face. ;)
