Lineup secured for action comedy Steal a Top Star

Oh Chang-seok, Kim Jung-heon
I admit that I only paused to read this story because the movie’s title caught my eye — Mission: Steal a Top Star — but hey, it’s a good title. It’s the kind of thing that tells you right away what to expect, while also making you think, Yes, I will see that. Please show it to me.
The plot of the action comedy is about an immature top star who seems like he has everything, who one day becomes the victim of a kidnapping. The ordeal makes him realize what real love is, and thus spurs a transformation. The top star will be played by Oh Chang-seok, who’s starting to pick up more and more leading man roles (Jang Bori Is Here, Aurora Princess), while newcomer Kim Jung-heon (Golden Cross) will play a special forces officer with the ability to melt the ladies’ hearts.
He’ll get a chance to do that when he rescues the heroine, Kim Ju-ri, in a moment of danger. Kim, the 2009 Miss Korea, apparently beat out two thousand audition hopefuls to win the role of the leading lady role, a clear-headed and righteous reporter who has a pivotal role in unraveling the kidnapping case. (I’m curious to know why the guy gets kidnapped in the first place, but I’m putting my money on the hottie agent as the culprit.) Park Dong-bin, meanwhile, plays the CEO of a talent agency and our top star hero’s manager who’s motivated chiefly by money and will employ any manner of cheap, dirty tactics to get what he wants. Something tells me he won’t take losing his moneymaker gracefully.
Sounds like an entertaining comedy — maybe a little silly, but hopefully a light fun watch. Mission: Steal a Top Star will begin filming this month and is aiming for an early 2015 release.
Kim Ju-ri, Park Dong-bin

Cast in the fall, shoot in the winter, release in the spring. Changmuro sure is efficient.

That part is efficient, for sure; having two thousand audition hopefuls for the female lead's role-- not so much.

And then out of 2000 auditions, choose Kim Ju ri?
Has she even acted before?? I just really hate when a role is given to someone for their pretty face rather then their acting ability.

I'm not sure if she acted before but i think that information is given to tide us down if we have doubt about her acting ability, let's just be optimistic.
I haven't seen Oh Chang Seok in anything either but from what I see in snippets of Jang Bo Ri is Here, he's okay.

Perhaps they were going for a newbie, but ou of 2000 contestants they choose Miss Korea? Sure.

Any comments on Oh Chang-seok's acting abilty? I don't think I've seen him in anything. (But after seeing his pic, I'm kinda tempted to kidnap him myself... ) :)

Wouldn't the CEO of the talent agency be the culprit? "Will employ any manner of tactics" sounds pretty suspicious to me...
