Gong Yoo boards a zombie train with Busan Line
by awcoconuts
Famed animated feature director Yeon Sang-ho (The Fake, King of Pigs) kept his cards close to his chest during an interview last year; when asked if he had any plans on making a live-action film, he downplayed the possibility. Now comes the news that he will spin-off the upcoming animated zombie movie Seoul Station with a live (er, undead?) feature titled Busan Line, set in a KTX (high speed train) on the Seoul-Busan railway that is filled with the walking dead.
Gong Yoo (The Suspect, The Crucible), who was drawn to the film because of the script and his confidence in the director, is said to be in final-stage contract negotiations to appear. I hope he’ll play a badass zombie hunter, but we haven’t been given any information on his potential character; he could just as easily be a (handsome) soulless corpse. Gong is currently shooting A Man And A Woman with Jeon Do-yeon, and will begin filming Busan Line as soon as it wraps, making quite the leap from a sweeping melodrama to a shocking zombie movie.
I love Gong Yoo, possibly even enough to get on the undead train, but with Director Yeon at the helm, Busan Line is sure to be a gritty, violent and satirical feature. While it would be interesting to see how Yeon’s envelope-pushing style translates into a live-action movie, I’m a little fearful this one might be too much of an emotionally-disturbing watch.
For those braver than me, producers hope to begin filming on Busan Line at the beginning of next year with a possible late 2015 or early 2016 release.

I would watch him read the phone book. Or just sit there quietly. Whatever. Doesn't matter.

YES YES YES! More Gong Yoo is always good though I'd seriously love to see him back in a drama! I need to forget that drama that shall not be named and which I just endured because of my love for him^^
Also a big fat YES to zombies and a hopefully dark and thrilling movie =) Count me on board of that KTX ride ;)

Aw, me too. Just getting news of him is great, but I'd love it even more if that news had to do with a drama! Hopefully we'll see him back within the next year or two :)

OMG Gong Yoo!!! I loved his performance in The Crucible. I saw his other movie with Kim Sun Ah and daaang He's sooo sexy there (I don't like his character though)! lol
I hope he comes back to dramaland soon... Coffee Prince is def one of my favorite kdramas. I had my hopes up when Big came and I kept on watching because of my fangirling love for him... ahhh but it's still a HUGE disappointment of a drama.

I actually enjoyed large parts of "Big." They could just bring in a crackerjack editor and probably make a great series by cutting it down to half the number of episodes. Surprised a dedicated fan hasn't already done it. Some fans spend a lot of money on shows and are very talented.

Gong Yoo is the icing on the zombie cake, as I was sooo impressed with THE FAKE. That film really hit me and stayed with me. Looking forward to Yeon Sang-ho's next project.

Zombies!?! Why of all things? Why can't he be a badass vampire slayer!?!
I'll just wait for the reviews before attempting this one. I never really fully recovered from being forced to watch my bro play Resident Evil. I haven't touched a zombie movie for years.
