Park Shin-yang tackles daddy duties in new film
by awcoconuts
After turning down the lead in the upcoming KBS drama Iron Man, signs point to Park Shin-yang (Sign, Painter of the Wind) harking back to his acting days of yore. After a two-year hiatus from the big screen (his last movie was Man on the Edge), he’s agreed to take on the lead in the upcoming film Dad and Daughter (a working title), which is described as a human comedy.
In the movie, something unexpected happens to a father-daughter duo, and while that sounds a little ominous, we’re told that the movie will be full of laughter (but also raw emotions) and the tone will be delightful (but emotional). It sounds like the type of character he can really excel in, and has performed well in the past. It doesn’t help that I have a weakness for watching daddies and daughters together — I can already tell this movie is going to slay me.
Dad and Daughter needs to fill its supporting cast, then hopes to begin filming in December for a release in the first half of 2015.

I think he is a very fine actor; however, his roles tend to be dark and edgy. I'd love to see him in a comedy and doing something lighter.

He's in Painter of the wind, which is light and comedic... Or atleast it left that impression. I personally loved it cuz it's very different, and had (for the first time I see in a drama) a sense of bisexuality. The female lead pretends to be a boy to be a painter in them olden days where girls aren't significant. She's young and forced To live an unusual life so it has an effect in how she feels, hense she finds herself falling for a beautiful woman as a normal boy would. It's not really cheesy nor serious. The emotions where serious which I loved. Her teacher, park shin yang, falls for her. Long story lol

Yeah... Right? Hahaha I was surprised at myself liking her cuz I didn't think much of her before. I saw painter of the wind recently and I thought she did a great job. Park shin yang was great too! I love actors like him rather than shiny pretty men with bangs all the time lol
