Minah courted to lead idol-filled sitcom

Idol Minah (full name: Bang Minah) of the pop group Girl’s Day has received a proposal to lead a new sitcom that’s currently in development from iMBC and Winning Productions, tentatively titled Dating Big Bang. The show will revolve around four women who are all scammed by the same guy, through marriage, dating, and business.
It sounds a bit like the plot of The Other Woman, the film released earlier this year with Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, and Kate Upton, but there’s no mention yet of the girls in the sitcom collaborating to enact revenge. However, if a sleazeball is the common thread that binds the four together, it’s certainly within reason to conjecture the show might head down that route.
Minah has made guest appearances in dramas (Master’s Sun), and starred in a movie (Holly), but hasn’t been part of the main cast of a television series since the quirky cable sitcom Vampire Idol in 2011. In this new sitcom, her character is a health trainer whose pretty features and heart of gold make her an admirable catch, but her childishness and naiveté lead her to often fall for, and be deceived by, the wrong kind of men.
There are the usual conflicting reports, with some sources claiming Minah’s already confirmed, and others stating she’s still seriously considering. While the show is set in a sports center/gym, many of the cast spots will be filled by additional girl group members (some of the band names floated include Rainbow, Nine Muses, and AOA), who have yet to be cast.
The surplus of idols might make some skeptical, but don’t write off the show just yet: Veteran sitcom/variety director Kim Seong-deok (tvN’s Rollercoaster, Three Friends, and the sitcom of my youth, Three Men Three Women) will helm, which gives me hope that he’ll be able to pull out lighthearted, entertaining performances from the somewhat green cast.
Dating Big Bang will begin filming next month and will air on either MBC or a cable affiliate.

That was my first thought, too. Shame. Haha. I would like to go on that show. Just saw them live tonight and I luff them all. So. Much.
But are we thinking reality show where contestants have to fight it out for a date with one of them? Or maybe a mockumentary style drama with interviews and cameras following them everywhere, showing how hard their dating lives are.

I'm as tired of the constant shutting out of non-idol 20something actresses from lead roles in dramas as any of us (seriously, all these roles handed out to idols like candy while their fans persist in the delusional logic that they're entitled to acting careers just because they're 'entertainers' and 'will learn on the job' even if they suck donkey balls in one role after another).
but I've seen Vampire Idol as well as Holly and her Master's Sun cameo.....and Minah isn't half bad. She's got a natural screen presence and she's improved a lot between Vampidol and her next projects. I'd rate her over Sunhwa, anyway. Plus this is going to be a webseries, I think? So it's not like she grabbed a Big Three leading role just like that.

I found it an okay film...nothing to write home about....and Ranveer's role didn't have enough scope...I think the ladies had a lot to do....especially I loved Parineeti chopra :)

Parineeti was a break-out in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, about the only thing apart from the soundtrack that I loved about the movie. After all, she is Priyanka's sister, I suspect talent runs in that gene pool.

Certainly not one in 2014, that much is for sure. She's got two movies out this year though, and she's spoken of preferring to work in film anyway.
But I would die of happiness if she did a drama with Kim Jae-wook as her leading man. Or better yet, if she reunited with Lee Jun-ki, since pairing reunions are the trend this year.

OMG, Yes to Shin Mina and Kim Jae-wook, I love him so much. if they did a drama I'd be over the moon. Or she could just re-unite with Joo Ji-hoon again. That could work too.
