Lee Je-hoon’s first day on set as Crown Prince Sado

Isn’t it nice when actors come back from army and just roll straight onto a drama set as if no time has passed at all? Thanks to two movies that were released during his enlistment and his immediate return to dramaland with Secret Door, Lee Je-hoon has managed to make his time away pass like wormhole trickery. Here he is on his first day on set, complete with an adorable reunion with his Bleak Night buddy Seo Joon-young.

SBS’s next Monday-Tuesday drama Secret Door stars Lee Je-hoon as Crown Prince Sado, the infamous son of King Yeongjo (Han Seok-kyu) who was sentenced to death by his own father at the age of 27. The drama will be a palace murder mystery that digs into the political conspiracy that may or may not have been the cause behind Sado’s death sentence. It focuses on the fractured relationship between Yeongjo as a father who demands perfection from his son, and Sado as a son eager to please him, which wars directly with his dream for an egalitarian society.

The stills are from the prince’s secret venture out of the palace dressed as a nobleman, and Lee Je-hoon is joined by Seo Joon-young, who plays a friend to the prince despite the vast difference in their classes. It’s entirely because of their Bleak Night friendship that all it takes is one smiley picture of them to squeeze my heart. Can they just play besties forever in every project they do from here on out? That would be peachy, thank you.

Okay, September. Any day now.

Wow...time surely flies fast...it feels like just yesterday when I saw him for the first time (in Fashion King!) and then he went to the army and is back...to act in a drama again...

I'm not familiar with Lee Je-hoon but in the first and last pictures, he looks so much like a slightly older Kim Soo Hyun.

*whispers* watch Bleak Night
You love the movie & appreciate the good acting. But FYI Bleak Night is not a happy movie.

I second this.

I watched Bleak Night after reading the movie review here on DB and man, does it leave an impact or what? Definitely NOT feel-good, but a must-watch nonetheless.

I highly recommend his short movie 'Just Friends?' It's about the coming out of a gay couple. His co-star is Yeon Woo-Jin, who is also very good in his part. (Some wrote about doubting Woo-Jin's acting abilities before 'Marriage, Not Dating', they must have missed this little gem.)

This is exciting :)! The first time I actually saw Lee Jehoon was in the independent short, "Just Friends?" I look forward to this, even if I do not wish the Summer to come to an end (I'm not a fan of the extreme heat, but I love the longer hours of daylight!).

Hahaha me too and that's why it's weird to see him on everything else. I don't know maybe me but since I saw him in that first, I expect him to end up with another male character... I stopped watching Bleak Night because I was being too shippy and couldn't really focus on the movie hahaha

Just last night I watched 'Just Friends?' because of my obsession with Yeon Woojin and needing to fill my time until the next ep of Marriage Not Dating. Lee Jehoon was adorable in the short and I will definitely check out this new show. (I also watched Yeon's short with a member of Kara. I mean, I tried to watch it but she was unbearable. Maybe I'll just rewatch Arang.)

Why is it that SK has an endless supply of great-looking guys? Now I look at actors of other countries and can't even drool if I try. LOL.
