Posters and stills for web drama Vampire Flower
by awcoconuts
Official posters are out to get us amped up for today’s release of Vampire Flower, the web dramatization of the popular, same-named internet novel. About a romance between a vampire and a human, fans of the original material have been eagerly awaiting the online drama, which has cast A-JAX’s Jaehyung as the central vampire on a quest for a flower that will enable him to become a vampire lord, and the cute and spunky Kim Ga-eun (Age of Feeling, I Hear Your Voice) as the human girl he falls in love with.
Within the posters, Jaehyung’s eyes are subtly shaded red and he looks the part of stoic vampire, while Kim displays mixed feelings – it seems she’s emoting fear, comfort, anxiety and trepidation all at once. A Vampire Flower source said, “The two actors commanded their characters; as a result we were able to complete a poster that shows their versatility.”
In the stills, the pair look the part of adorable couple on a casual date, eating street food and picking out sunglasses for each other to try. Jaehyung and Kim are said to have become friendly during filming, and they are rumored to have made the set quite enjoyable for the staff with their easy rapport.
First-time actor Jaehyung said, “Since I’m very new to acting, I ended up asking my co-star for her advice. As I did that, we naturally began to show more concern for each other and began to be more comfortable with each other, and I think that’s why we worked well together.”
Despite having had reservations about the idol-filled cast (A-JAX’s other members round out the vampire coven), the stills are intriguing, Kim Ga-eun is a draw, and the web drama format almost makes it easier to give it a shot. The 6-episode web drama Vampire Flower premieres today on Naver.

So I had no desire to see this based on the description and the first poster, but the stills, actually....I mean come on, it's SoSo! I wonder if it will get subbed anywhere. I'm not interested enough to try and deal with Naver directly AND also not have subs.
Oooh.. Mary. I just had a thought. Catch me later.

Haha, I was just going to say, first SoSo ships herself with the *slighty* (just a LITTLE bit) vanpire-like Mo Ilhwa. Now she's shipping herself with a legit vampire?

That should be "vampire." Sorry for the typo. But if "vanpires" (undead creatures who run car-selling enterprises) ever make it big, remember you heard about them here first ladies!

If you think about it, it could be worse - you have to read the novel and watch the movie at the same time.

I think Web dramas are a great way for idols to enter the acting scene, they get to make their experiences and learn without immediately being crucified by the public. and there is even a chance that the Web drama will air on TV, if it is a big success online! win-win!

Off topic but is it just me or she resembles Shin-hye? I can almost picture PSH doing Bella to the T if Twilight were ever adapted as a kdrama.

With no expression at all, she could be an awesome Bella, she is so boring I still don't know why Edward feel attracted to her besides of he wanted her blood so much.
I hope not be like twilight, I want scary vampires

I don't appreciate the over-stylized look of the posters, although I suppose it's supposed to be reminiscent of a typical K-summer horror film poster and that I can see. Her school uniform looks similar to the one from Vampire Academy which the story still reminds me of.
Again it amazes me how fast these shows get filmed and released. I remember the casting news about this coming out fairly recently. And now it's already ready for consumption.

Wow, that first poster looks exactly like one of the original Twilight posters from the first movie. I know because we moved recently, and I found a paperback copy of the promotional version of the book, purchased around the time the first movie was released, because one of the dogs or the cat had eaten part of the hardback novel we originally owned.

I've started watching it, and all I can say is: It's weird, man. But, it's alright.
I don't know if I should be doing this but,
I'm watching it on at (http://tvcast.naver.com/v/174046).
You'll have to download Hola (https://hola.org/?utm_source=holaext) and change your country to South Korea while on the site.
Good Luck, hope this can help!

I am always down for more web and mobile dramas, regardless of the storyline. Hopefully, dramafever or Viki or kdrama or somewhere will pick it up and sub it, cause I'm not even going to try watching it unsubbed. That would be hard with a regular drama, but a drama about a vampire? I can't even imagine how confusing that would be, lol.

I've just watched it on Youtube last night and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. I originally loved Ga-eun from I Hear Your Voice because she is a natural actress. And hey, what suprised me the most is that Jaehyung was actually cool too. At least I loved him playing this role; he has a really unique face and well, he was perfect as a vampire. I hope there'll be another season or they will make it into a full drama, because the story was awesome and I couldn't find any resemblance with Twilight, except for the poster lol. The OST was really really good too for this drama.
So I believe that it is worth a try! :)

i just finished it on youtube and i enjoyed it as well even though it was short. and the acting was pretty decent too, if this could be made longer, it would definitely be enjoyable and i agree, ost was good. also, it's not really similar to twilight besides it being a vampire story. but downside is, because it was short, obviously there are holes and the ending made me want more details. sigh

Just finished watching this on youtube a few days ago. The story was interesting. The acting was passably decent. The characters are likeable - not only for the main characters and the supporting characters as well. I totally agree with smi - I only wish the story could be longer so that the story and the characters could develop more. In the end, very enjoyable SHORT story. It's being way too short is the only complain I have so far.
