Lee Jun-hyuk eyes My Spring Days as comeback drama
by javabeans
I love it when an actor’s army duty speeds by (seemingly) quickly, since so many times it can feel painful waiting for them to return. So I’m happy to hear that Lee Jun-hyuk (Equator Man, City Hunter) is now looking at comeback projects in earnest, having returned to civilian life in March.
The project he’s considering is the MBC drama My Spring Days, which previously announced the possible castings of Sooyoung (Dating Agency Cyrano) and Kam Woo-sung (King Geunchogo). The warm human drama centers around a terminally ill woman who then receives a heart transplant and a new lease on life. The role Lee Jun-hyuk is considering is of a cardiothoracic surgeon, and conflict arises when his first love falls in love with his hyung. Aw. Poor kid bro.
I’m sad that Lee wouldn’t be the main lead, although any Lee Jun-hyuk is better than none, and he’s shown that he can make the most of a secondary role. It also sounds like this may be the role Yoo Joon-sang had been considering, though there aren’t enough details yet to know that for sure. In any case, no actors have finalized their castings yet, though they’re in the “favorably considering” stage and may very well end up confirmed. We’ll have to wait on that.
My Spring Days, which comes from the PD of I Miss You and the writer of Hero, will follow currently airing rom-com Fated To Love You on Wednesdays and Thursdays. It’ll premiere in September.

I mean, if your first love falls in love with your hyung, that's some serious brooding material right there.
THE INJUSTICE! THE SUFFERIIIIING! THE AAAAANGSSSTTTT!!!
Perfect for staring soulfully into the broken shards of the mirror after a shower, no?
(On an unrelated note, does anyone know if Song Jae Rim has a hyung? And a first love?)

Aww Lee Jun Hyuk! I really liked him in City Hunter.
Too bad he's not the main lead in this new drama. =( Hope it's a good one though.

Gah, if Sooyoung accepts the role, I am going to watch it so if he accepts the role too, I am going to have severe second male lead syndrome lol. Seriously, as shallow as I am going to sound, I fangirled so much over him during City Hunter. Like he isn't just hot but super mega hot XD.

Looking forward to his return to dramaland because he has certainly been missed.
He certainly made an impression in Equator Man, he was fantastic in that.

I need my prosecutor to get a happy ending though! He deserved SO much better in City Hunter, but he died protecting the justice he lived for so it's not like I can blame the show...

This storyline seems oddly familiar and the title is pretty much the same as the drama I'm thinking about. Does anybody remember a drama called Spring Day starring Jo In-sung? Where he played the role of the brother.
Basically his brother played by Ji Jin Hui was a doctor who went to small island and fell in love with a woman who was mute. They had planned to get married but he ended up in a car accident. They end up back in Seoul while he is in a coma and his youngest brother falls for the woman as well. Of course for most of the drama it's one sided but half way through she returns his feelings and falls in love with her lovers brother. A few things sound different but there are a lot of similarities.

Goodness, he makes me cry in CH, then he makes me cry by going off to the army, then he's gonna make me cry as a heartbroken second lead (no pun intended)?!
Never mind, I'm just sooo glad to see him back and acting!! Hooray!!
