First poster and trailer for Dugeun Dugeun My Life

I’m just on a Kang Dong-won roll, aren’t I? It’s so nice to have lots of updates to write on the actor; he’s come back from his four-year hiatus in a big way. The poster for his upcoming movie Dugeun Dugeun My Life (also known as My Palpitating Life or My Brilliant Life) has been released, and I love it so much.
Kang Dong-won (Kundo: Age of the Rampant) and co-star Song Hye-gyo (That Winter, The Wind Blows) look every bit the devoted parents — speaking of acting with the eyes, their eyes say so much! The hue of the print also says a lot, evoking the sense that the photographer captured a real and precious moment for the happy family, but also hinting that the loving instant is nothing but a memory in the present day.
The copy on the poster reads, “His face says he’s 80, but his heart is 16. Our child is the world’s most special.” As indicated, Kang and Song play a couple who become young parents when they have a son together at the age of seventeen. Their child is born with a rare genetic disorder, progeria, which causes rapid aging, and sixteen years later, his body’s equivalent age is 80.
From the trailer, I can already tell the film will be an emotional one, giving us tender family moments with some humor sprinkled in: The son narrates that his Dad is immature and clumsy, while Mom is beautiful but known for her formerly foul mouth.
The plot is not entirely innovative; if you take away the fantastical elements of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Odd Life of Timothy Green, the emphasis on the profound impact child and parents have upon each other, particularly when shared time is finite and parting is imminent, is similar. However, the story doesn’t have to be fresh, so long as the execution and acting are well done, and these teasers certainly give me that hope.
Dugeun Dugeun My Life is directed by Lee Jae-Yong (Actresses) and will hit theaters in September around Chuseok — but I may have to wait until I can watch it in the privacy of my own home, as I have a feeling I’ll turn into a blubbering mess.

This movie sounds almost like Hindi film "Paa"...which was an amazing movie...filled with humour, heart and warmth.

Ya, last time I saw at beannies comments, some one mention about Hindi film Papa and I checked it out and it's Amazing. I really can't wait to watch this one too. Poster and trailer are amazing already.

Yes it does sound like paa. It was an amazing movie, the cool fact about that movie was that the actor who played the child was the real life father of the actor who played the father

Yes, definitely like Paa with Big B and Junior B. But I think this movie is going to be a lot more angst-y than that. Just the posters tell me that this is going to be more about the condition and how the family deals with it than the kid trying to re-unite the parents.

he discharged Nov 2012, and started Kundo in Apr 2013. However, movie takes time to get realease thus it s 4 years (2010-2014)

I love Kang Dong-won (who doesn't; it's those eyes--swoon), but I can't wait to see Song Hye-gyo cursing people out. Just a couple of seconds of that put a smile on my face.

There will be tears shed. Interesting premise and I do hope it's handled well. I know most people are looking forward to the parents and their actors (as a Kang Dong Won fan, of course I am included), but I am curious about the person playing A Reum too. They are the actual star of the story, so I hope the newcomer they picked can deliver. And boy, will it rock if they do.

I get goosebumps watching the trailer. I think I will be an emotional blubbering mess too. I am very curious who will be the adult actors playing the child - I see the trailers (purposely?) hide the images. I don't know why but I think I will like this movie, a lot.

That poster is stunning. They look so good together, and SHK looks gorgeous. I skipped That Winter since I have a bit of a JIS allergy, but I'm glad I can watch this one. It looks heartwarming and will probably make me sob like a baby. I cannot wait!

Lol, no real reason really. I just find him slightly off with the way he emotes. I think I gave most of his dramas a fair shot and ended up being turned off. That Winter was incest(ish) so I never bothered but I'm willing to go all the way with IOIL since it has GHJ =)

Oh wow. I'm 100% sure that I'll be a mess after watching this one. The poster is so evocative already, the movie promises to be great (and heart-wrenching).
I'm also excited for the team-up of Song HyeGyo and Kang Dong-Won. They make a good-looking couple. <3
