Hmm, so she will be one of the supporting roles. I guess, if they go for idols for supporting roles, the MAIN actress will be 'real' actress then... I hope so.

Agree with JB, I enjoying Joo Won's subtle acting than his comedic acting, there's something off about his comedic acting.. maybe he need times to do it,

But if it comes to stoic, subtle acting (like in Ojakkyo Brothers) and action, intensed (like in Gaaaaksital) he totally wins me over!

Please please main female lead be someone that is compatible with him this time...

How about IU as nodame?

Just watched Nodame Cantabile a few weeks ago in preparation of the K-drama remake and it was simply amazing. As a big fan of classical music and dramas, it was like a match made in heaven. I loved the relationship between Nodame and Chiaki and I hope the Kdrama will be able to reproduce the growth of both characters and their romantic relationship, because that was definitely the heart of the J-drama.

I'm dying to know who will be Nodame... I can definitely see Joo-won doing a convincing Chiaki, so I hope they cast someone good. I hear IU's name getting tossed around a lot and I've liked her in previous works, but somehow don't feel that she's the right fit here.

A lot of people say it`s gonna be IU or Yoona, cause KBS favors these two. And it looks like Yoona knows how to play piano, so maybe they go for her , even if she is too beautiful for the role.

Aside from the obvious burning question of who will be cast as Nodame (I'm still rooting for Im Joo Eun!), I'm really curious whether the plot will follow only the original 11 episode drama, or if it will include plotlines from the specials and movies as well. As much as I liked the original drama, I also really enjoyed the developments in Chiaki and Nodame's characters in the specials and particularly in the movies. It'd be great if those developments were incorporated into the remake in one way or another.

I'm waiting for the Nodame casting too! Usually i'm really passive about kdrama remake but not this one!! I'm watching this like a hawk. They screwed up Boys Over Flowers and Hana Kimi so badly, but this has Joo Won so i'm giving it chance. Third time's the charm, they better get Nodame right or they're will be some very angering fans.

One of the option i have in mind is kim seul gi. Not a popular choice but i like her in flower boy next door which she play as webtoon manager and i like to see her more in drama.

Impatient is the word, that's for sure. I'm just nervous about waiting all this time just to have them cast THE worst actress for the job EVS. Please no, please no, please no. Here's to hoping for the best.

My vote is for Im Joo-eun - I think she can do quirky underlaid with subtlety in a way none of the idol actress mentioned can. No offense to IU and Yoona, but I can already see in my head how they'd play Nodame's quirkiness, and it would just be textbook scatter-brained/zany/cutesy K-drama heroine - Nodame is more interesting and challenging than that.

I guess my tentative second choice would be Jung So-min; Even though her brand of quirky seems quite different from Nodame's (from what she's shown or hinted at so far), I wouldn't underestimate her abilities as an actress to put her own stamp on this character. And we probably need a K-actress who will step out of the shadow of Ueno Juri's Nodame instead of trying to replicate her take on it.

Since this is the year of reunion, then how about UEE :D Muahhahaha, sorry, I just love UEE and Joo Won in OB so much <3

Another girls I think could play Nodame could be Lee Yoo Bi or kim seul Gi but I'm not sure since I've only watched like 2 of their projects.

I watched the Jap drama and there are things I wonder how theyll play them in SK... the Korean BOF kept Ji hoo's gay friend who seemed to be in love with him but he appeared for like one episode so I wonder how theyll deal with recurrent gay characters and the fact that there arent "antagonists"... there are challenges the characters had to overcome but there werent evil mother in laws, birth secrets or love squares/triangles so idk if they would leave things like that or try to change it

joo won is horrible casting for chiaki, so i really don't care who they cast for nodame.

I just wish the remake wasn't happening to be honest. Nodame is a whole other level of drama. No-one should be touching it, they should be worshipping at its feet. The fact that they're remaking it is blasphemy, and then on top of that its a korean remake of a japanese drama...

And we have so many great examples of how well that works, don't we?

She'll do fine. Sakura's role is so minor I wonder if they are going to expand it. She's only in a couple episodes and isn't really seen again all that much. Who Nodame is will make or break this drama though.

She's a bit older but how about Jung Yoo-mi (Que Sera Sera)? I watched the Jdrama adaptation and somehow I kept seeing Yoo-mi in Ueno Juri, the actress who played Nodame.

Maybe it's their chameleon-like capability in actually embodying their characters where instead of seeing the actors playing several different characters, we see very distinct characters who just happen to be played by the same actor. It doesn't make much sense I know about I don't know how else to put it.

I've seen Ueno in her other works and wow I couldn't believe that this was the same actress who played the helter skelter off her rockers Nodame. Jung Yoo-mi, in that sense, is the same way.

Man I loved that pervy conductor. He stole every scene. I feel like watching it all over again to freshen up my memory.

I vote Im Joo Eun--maybe if we post it on KBS World they'll listen??? They have an English channel and I don't see her taking on any new projects... I think she has the range Nodame needs. I'd definitely watch if it was her. She can do a little deranged, mooning over a guy, you can believe she's messy, her angry revenge part gets to you and her craing side can hit you in the heart hard.

Joo Won, I'm not sure of... because while Chiaki is a straight man, it's subtle, but you do need comic timing for it. And only a bit of cutting can afford you that timing. He has to act off of what Nodame gives him, and that's where I'm a bit uptight. The brilliance of Tamaki was that he made the role seem like you *didn't* need comic timing, but the truth of Chiaki is that a good straight man needs to have that comic timing beat, and a good one will make it seem like they are doing nothing to make the joke funnier.

i read on allkpop that YOONA just confirmed that she'll be playing the role of Nodame... Dear lord.. sad sad day for Nodame fans. :((((((((((
