Park Ha-sun completes Temptation’s love square
by girlfriday
Confirmations are in for the main cast of SBS’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama Temptation, starring Kwon Sang-woo (Medical Top Team) as a man caught between his wife and a chaebol heiress who makes him an offer he can’t refuse. Choi Ji-woo (Suspicious Housekeeper) is playing the heiress, and Lee Jung-jin (Hundred Year Inheritance) has signed on to play Kwon Sang-woo’s rival. The latest addition to the cast is Park Ha-sun (Three Days), who will be taking the role that Yoon Eun-hye ultimately turned down, as Kwon Sang-woo’s wife.
Park Ha-sun plays a woman from a poor family who was resigned to her fate, when she met Kwon Sang-woo who brought happiness and hope into her life. They’re a close loving couple, and she’s described as calm and understanding, almost to a fault. She’s always the first to sacrifice and make concessions, but it’s probably an understatement to say that their relationship hits the rocks when her husband takes an offer from Choi Ji-woo to clear his debt in exchange for entrusting his body in her care.
But never fear, because she has Lee Jung-jin waiting in the wings to woo her. He’s a rich playboy who has everything he could ever want, and approaches life with the philosophy that you should have a hundred different sincere faces for a hundred different women. He’s family friends with Choi Ji-woo’s character, and has tried to seduce her in the past. He finally married because it was a requirement for his inheritance, but he sincerely starts to change when he meets Park Ha-sun, and falls for her.
I can see how the casting skewed in a totally different direction once Choi Ji-woo was cast — suddenly you have a Stairway to Heaven reunion on your hands, and the wife starts to feel less and less like the heroine of the story. But the drama seems more like a four-way love square setup like A Warm Word, where everyone’s got an indiscretion or new potential love interest in play. Park Ha-sun has been steadily amassing interesting roles of late in Two Weeks and Three Days — she’s been playing women who seem soft on the outside but are strong on the inside, which just makes me like her more. I’m not that excited about Temptation as a drama, but they sure managed to get a strong foursome to headline.
Temptation follows Doctor Stranger in July.

Lee Jung Jin's character description:
"He’s a rich playboy who has everything he could ever want, and approaches life with the philosophy that you should have a hundred different sincere faces for a hundred different women. "
That's interesting but when he is second lead can we hope that he will get a girl in the end?? The fate of male second lead is always like that, ever perfect but never get the girl. Only a handful of them get the main lead or alternative pairing.

This guy's life would be much simpler if he just got a dog. Women are obviously too complicated for him.

That's a great cast!! I really hope that the show will do this talented bunch justice! Especially Lee Jung-jin, he cannot be the typical rejected second lead.

I like the addition of Park Ha-sun to the cast.
On a side note, that second lead character is sounding quite interesting.

So which couple are the OTP? I would not like if the hero fell for the woman who buys him and leaves his wife for her.
I hope its not typical drama like that but the she is more like conflict he has to overcome to get back to his wife.

I get where you are coming from but I feel that a guy who falls for the woman who buys him is akin to someone who marries just to get his inheritance a la the second male lead. For both of them, reality takes precedence over love. The male lead's first marriage had love more important than reality before the contract. Yet for the male lead to leave his wife simply because he fell in love with another woman is not right.

Choi actress is the bigger star and bigger than Park Ha Sun thaths why i worry the other women is the one the hero falls for . Which in this case sounds wrong and sick. Specially since the wife is caring one who loves him.
The affair worked in Secret Love Affair because the heroine marriage was a fake one, not a husband who loved her. It wasnt a loving couple like this where another woman got in the way.

i agree, i don't think k-drama dare to use a cheating husband as a lead (unless he is supposed to be some villain..), so i doubt that it will happen. the only time i wished they would make a married character cheat was in "shark" cause they were so HOT together and i didn't care about the husband at all^^

yay for Park Ha Sun. i'm sorry to KSW+CJY fans but before this, this drama did not appeal to me. but with the addition of PHS as cast, i think i will definitely check it out. her character description sounds promising. how will she react to her husband action, how will she change? what would she do?i'm interested to find out. so PHS otp is LJJ? I hope they get together in the end.

Yay! I'm a huge fan of Park Ha-sun and have loved her in everything I've seen her in (Two Weeks, Ten Days). She may actually be the key to "Tempting" me to watch this drama.
I'm glad Yoon Eun Hye quit this drama - although I'm a huge fan of hers and loved her in Goong, Coffee Prince and Lie To Me - I just don't think this drama would have played to her strengths. I can see Park Ha Sun being strong in this role, and to my mind, she is better suited for this role.

I love when everyone gets someone at the end! I never really get second lead syndrome because the second lead is almost always at fault in some way for NOT getting the girl (never speaking up about how he feels being the usual culprit) so I can't feel sorry they don't get the lead. (Except for that one Chinese historical that broke my heart... Never underestimating the pain again, that's for sure) However, at least for the guys (why are the second lead females obnoxious and the males endearing???), I always want them to be happy and have an adorable romance of their own so I won't leave them broken hearted and lonely :(
Anyways, I might actually watch this. I've been intrigued...

I really like Park Ha Sun in Three Days since her character there 'Bowon' is a really strong-willed woman. She isn't a damsel in distress and doesn't need a prince saving her and on the contrary it was her who save people even Taekyung who is the lead. She's also determined and competitive. So i really really hope and pray that her character here isn't some weakling. I hope her character here have some fighting spirit and knows how to fight back. It's easier to root for someone who is a fighter, someone who fights for their rights and stand up for themselves. Please writers, do not make her character such pitiable, damsel, and most of all very very martyr woman.

Well, if there's gonna be a bit of Park Ha-sun/Lee Jung-jin romance then perhaps I'll tune in. Otherwise, I still think it has a great cast, but it's not really my thing.

This drama reminds of that one with Yeom Jung Ah, Kim Sung Soo, Kim Rae Won and Yoon So Yi (I think?) that made my skin crawl.
My reaction is a big fat NOPE to bored rich people who want to dangle their money to make playthings out of people in dire circumstances. I hope Choi Ji Woo/Lee Jung Jin's characters get what's coming to them and that Kwon Sang Woo and Park Ha Sun stay strong until the end.

I've liked Park Ha Sun ever since I saw her playing the ill-fated Queen In Hyun in Dong Yi. And it's not because she's beautiful, even though she is. She created a strong, firm, brave character that had a soft side as well. I don't know if you remember, but in that drama she doesn't spend that much time on screen while in exile. And even then her character was one I admired greatly. Mostly I was watching the drama because of Han Hyo Joo, but I was surprised how much joy I felt when the queen was put back where she belonged when Dong Yi brought back the evidence needed to prove her innocence.
Park Ha Sun also plays comedic as well, in High Kick 3 and Tone Deaf Clinic, which was very very funny and corny. Even in High Kick when she pretends to be the last Empress in the school play you can't help but think she's a brave woman facing her death with grace and dignity.
Anyway, yes I'm a big fan of hers. I can see her playing a pushover, super nice wife in this drama, with an inner strength that shines through and attracts others as well. I don't know how the drama will play out, but I'm very interested now that she's in the mix!

Hmmm, the setup for this show worries me. With all of the never ending shipping discussions on the net, the show may very well end up becoming a major trainwreck when the writer try to please everyone by creating unnecessary drama. Im not the biggest fan of Park Ha-sun either and thus I will most likely push the "pass" button on this one.
Am I the only one thinking this show sounds kinda similar to Midas for some reason with the wife getting pushed aside and all?
