Choi Ji-woo gives in to Temptation

We’ve got another dramaland reunion headed our way: Choi Ji-woo (Suspicious Housekeeper) has confirmed that she’ll be starring opposite Kwon Sang-woo (Medical Top Team) in his new melodrama Temptation this summer. The co-stars will be reuniting eleven years after their classic melodrama Stairway to Heaven, barely edged out for oldest reunion of 2014 by Jang Hyuk and Jang Nara in Fated to Love You. Now that there are so friggin’ many of them, I suppose we could start judging the re-couplings by all sorts of parameters, like Best Improvement in Chemistry.

The new SBS Monday-Tuesday melo stars Kwon Sang-woo as a man stretched to his limit in debt, who accepts an enticing offer by a wealthy woman. She clears his debt in exchange for some sort of mystery arrangement wherein he entrusts his body in her care (seriously, you should just tell me what the deal is because the vagueness is just making my mind go to places that aren’t suitable for television). Whether boy toy, butler, or beard, he’s married (and potentially to Yoon Eun-hye at that), which is why he gets stuck angsting between two women and trying to figure out what true love is.

Choi Ji-woo has signed on to play the chaebol temptress who was raised to take over her father’s company from a very young age, and has no interest in marriage or love, or anything that interferes with business. She’s described as a “woman of iron,” a workaholic, and a headstrong leader. She meets Kwon Sang-woo and his wife while on a business trip to Hong Kong and ends up making the hero an offer he can’t refuse. He can’t go back on that choice, and Choi Ji-woo’s character will begin to change radically as a result. Whadduya think: more tears than Stairway to Heaven? Is that even possible?

Temptation follows Doctor Stranger in July.

Man...as long as no one kills anyone...or everyone at the end of the last episode

YEH's character will probably leave to escape at some point

Sounds like Indecent Proposal only reverse gender. What's with Korea and these slew of pseudo cheating spouse dramas.

But then everything seems to have been covered that anything 'new' is a godsend.

Let's spread a rumor about the "beard" concept. 'Cause, if the 40ish chabol heiress (Choi Ji-woo) decides she has to have a discrete pretend male married lover (Kwon Sang-woo) to cover for her REAL lover (Yoon Eun-hye), this will suddenly become the most awesome melodrama to hit Korean TV in years.

*gasp* what if she is actually interested in YEH's character and tries to buy the husband so as to get close to her and the two women end up having a very torrid and scandalous affair. Hey, you put the beard idea in my head.

LOL well now that theres so many reuniting couples, perhaps there should be two couple categories at the end of the year: best couple AND best reunited couple haha

Love how girlfriday makes the headlines so pun-ny! :) The plot sounds just like some torrid bodice-ripper novels or manga, but it should be relatively PG since it's broadcasted on SBS. (Get your minds out of the gutter! I know, just trying not to get hopes up) But more cheating stuff? Sigh. That already guarantees buckets of tears, prepare the tissues -.-

It's hell keeping them in tune if there's any wind on the beach. All that dust.

I was on a Greek cruise ship a couple of years ago, and there was a very elegant lady in an elegant evening gown playing classical music on a beautiful white piano on one of the upper decks. When yer set was finished, she closed the piano lid, reached down behind her, and pulled out a gigantic wooden carpenters clamp, as big the back of your chair. It had a padlock attached and used it to lock down her keyboard like she was securing a bicycle.

Then she stood up elegantly in her high hills and smoothed down her evening gown, took her purse, and walked gracefully off to use the restroom.

Choi Ji Woo, the villain! I love it, go for it,.( Quote: Gfridayseriously, you should just tell me what the deal is because the vagueness is just making my mind go to places that aren’t suitable for television): The deal is hot bed scenes, Make JDY envy! Make men's imagination go wild too.

Can we have Kim Bum Soo sing OST for this drama? Anything heart-wrenching ballad that can be equal or top the Bogoshipda song.

How bout Shin Hyun Joon make cameo too. As CJW business partner or anything.

Although they're not my fave OTP in StH, I ship SHJ-CJW so hard but since StH was my first kdrama so all actors in this drama got soft spot in my heart. <3

yes Kim Bum Soo to sing the OST. Is it on the Mon-Tues slot in july then going against mbc night watchman...

But I much prefer this than the ghost story line and the inexperience and those who can't act at all in the casting. We have the best 2 lead actors in temptation. Now hope that the script for temptation will do justice for our great anticipation. They have a winning edge with veterans actors. Please no idols actors who cannot act please.

Sad that they are reunited but they won't get each other in the end. I was hoping for a happy end for these two. Now its another sad love story again. Anyway I will watch this to see how it go.

Who says that they won't end up together in the end? Although admittedly no show ever defies (okay, one or two) kdrama land law of 'till death do us a part'. But please let this one be different. Chebal!

More tears than Stair Way to Heaven? How could that even be possible? But if the result is a happy ending, bring it on!

Sigh. I know I don't make any sense. I just hope for a happy melodrama. If there is even such a thing.

Well, as long as this drama doesn't have amnesia-you're-my-step-brother-first-love themes, I think it will be alright. :P

Seriously, I don't even remember much about Stairway to Heaven, but I remember all those tears I cried for that drama just from watching them cry so much.

I'm not sure I've seen a drama that made me cry MORE than STH. I think that's just impossible. There was one weekend drama that made me bawl in the first one or two episodes, but I never finished it...can't actually remember what it was. But I still don't think I cried more than STH....

I'm not sure how I feel about the premise. I'll watch just because it's the two of them again, but I've never been able to do well with couples that involve cheating.

However, I can't handle another Stairway to Heaven. That drama emotional crippled me and I have yet to re-watch it because of ALL THE PAIN THAT COMES WITH IT!

Wow, KSW and CJW are the two Korean actors that can cry like nobody's business. Should we be getting ready for waterworks galore? It seemed that KSW's crying scenes in StH were so moving that the filming crew was moved to tears. The other old drama that made me cry that much was Autumn in my heart during the childhood episodes.
