MBC preempts Wednesday’s episode of A New Leaf

The MBC prime time drama block has been preempted for a special World Cup send-off game, which means there will be no new episodes of A New Leaf, Shining Romance, and Mother’s Garden on Wednesday, May 28. I get that dramas have to be preempted for big events once in a while (grumble, grumble), but is there really a reason for not letting anyone know until hours before? Some of us will suffer from Kim Myung-min withdrawal and our loved ones need to be given advance warning!
The delay comes at a crucial juncture for A New Leaf, because Kim Myung-min just found out where the heck his dog has been for the last eight episodes. What, is this not the love story you’re watching this drama for? Because ever since he woke up with amnesia, I’ve been wringing my hands waiting for him to figure out that his poor doggie is sick and waiting for him in the hospital. It’s been downright cruel, the way the show’s been teasing their reunion for weeks. I guess we’ve waited this long, so we can wait ONE more day. There had better be some puppy hugs when the show comes back, is all I’m sayin’.
The shows will resume on Thursday, which puts the episode counts off. We’ll keep you posted if A New Leaf decides to try and double up on broadcasts or extend later on, but for now Episode 9 airs on Thursday.

What in the what?! I mean... Damn it MBC you could've at least given us a week or so to prepare for this!
I vote for two episodes tomorrow!
And yes I'm totally watching for the love story of Seok Joo + his dog^^ (and the bromance with Sang Tae)

Nooooooooooooooooooo I need my Kim Myung-min fix, they should have to told us earlier, so I could have scheduled my mediation class, my friend is giving me dirty looks now because I screamed at her when she ways peacefully trying to ask me a question *pout* see what they've done.

I've been wondering something...
Isn't his dog in "A New Leaf" the exact same dog from "Beethoven Virus"?
If it's not the same dog, then it's certainly the same breed.

Yeah leaving the dog hanging when he has a tumour was kind of stressing me out. Being a dog owner and all. Plus the vet was pretty blase for a fast growing tumour. Bad bad vet.

Agree. I'm a cat owner and I thought when he saw the dog dish, AND all the pictures, he would do everything to find him; ask a lot of questions. And the vet, sent him a text? I think the writer has treated this pet angle, strangely, to say the least.

I just started watching A New Leaf yesterday and I have been marathon-ing the first 8 episodes. The drama is actually so good that I was THAT addicted.
Who knew a drama about an amnesiac lawyer would be so enticing?

I heard episode 9 will air this Thursday (tomorrow) and episode 10 will air next Thursday. Episode 10 is preempted because of an electon happening next Wednesday.

Are you me?! XD honestly the dog brought me here!! As soon as I saw him I'm like, OMG there's another four legged actor for me to crush over after Barassi!! XD So far I've read all the recaps now and I like it so far!!! Hopefully the show won't disappoint!!! ^^

And for a "send off for the World Cup" of all things????!!!???!!! Maaaaaybeee if they were coming back as champions, a la "Hail the Conquering Heroes," but before they have played a single game?
My old drama teacher was a big believer in the concept of not applauding for anyone until they've done something worth applauding -- no applause for just showing up -- and I'll stick with her on this one!

I have to side with your old drama teacher.
But here in the US, people are so used to applauding at their high school kids' performance that, when they go to the Metropolitan Opera, they still applaud at anything and everything, even the moving chandeliers or stage curtains.
I noticed that, in Berlin, applause is short and temperate, unless it was an extraordinary performance (as in Maria Callas scale).

Typical this happens to the best k-drama right now for me , the only one addictive enough i cant wait a day let alone a whole week between eps.
This is cruel telling us only hours before the airing when i have been waiting all day thinking late tonight is new ep of A New Leaf!!

Well I'm sad I can't watch ANL and has to wait for Thu ep. But tomorrow I have to go to other city early and have no time to download and watch new ep. So there's silver lining for me. But seriously I want to know what happens to Khan and the reason for World Cup send off is really strange.

No!! A New Leaf is the only drama that I always watch on the day that it airs because it's so good.
And haha, I'm glad I'm not the only one obsessed with Seok Joo finding his dog. Poor Khan. I hope he doesn't die. :(
