Kim Nam-gil to star with Jeon Do-yeon in The Rogue
by awcoconuts
Kim Nam-gil (Shark) will work for the first time opposite veteran actress Jeon Do-yeon in the upcoming movie The Rogue, written and directed by Oh Seung-wook (Kilimanjaro). The suspense film will be about an investigator on the hunt for a killer, the killer’s girlfriend, and the unexpected and carnal attraction that develops between the officer and the killer’s mate.
Jeon Do-yeon has been cast as the murderer’s significant other — when he goes on the lam, she awaits his return. In his absence, Kim Nam-gil establishes himself in her life, but she doesn’t know he’s a cop tracking her boyfriend, and she begins to fall for him. It’s a role described as one requiring the co-existence of despair, immorality, tenacity and purity, but we know Jeon Do-yeon can pull it off — during her almost 25-year career (um, kind of crazy, but I remember watching her and Jang Dong-gun in their debut drama Our Paradise), she’s put in some amazing performances, and has been recognized for her work both domestically and internationally.
Kim Nam-gil’s character is hell-bent on finding the criminal, by any means necessary. Eventually, he is unable to deny his feelings for Jeon Do-yeon, and we’ll see him struggle with his growing desire to be with her and his responsibility to capture and put her man behind bars. This was a smart next project for Kim, as this meaty role (partnered with an always solid actress) in a heavier crime movie will follow the release of the blockbuster Pirate this summer. Jeon also has a big budget production being released soon, Gallant Woman: Memory of the Sword.
The Rogue is expected to begin filming in mid-June, after Jeon Do-yeon returns from serving on the jury at the Cannes Film Festival.

I guess this should be expected now :-)
kim nam gil and dying jokes have become as common as the question "What would Anthony do?" for any behind the scenes drama in dramas here in DB.
Well! Atleast he's made dying an art form ;-)
Kudos on becoming an institution at Dramabeans !!!!

I can not wait to see her reunite with Lee Byung-heon in their new sageuk movie "Gallant Woman: Memory of the Sword." Talk about A list pairing.
As for KNG, I hope he will try a light rom.com sometimes soon for a change. All these same old revenge drama/movies is going to keep getting him killed.

After reading yesterday's post informing us that Iron Man will be about "a man with a heart full of such pain that a sword sprouts from his body", the title “Gallant Woman: Memory of the Sword” paints a whole different picture in my mind. :D
I agree, it's about time KNG did a rom-com. I'd also love to see JDY in another rom-com drama~ but I doubt she'll be leaving Chungmuro anytime soon.

The suspense movie suits him because he can conjure up that air of mystery with only a look or the slightest detail.
He's just that cool.

Coming up in 2016, the epic historical melodrama 'Inevitable', starring Kim Nam Gil and Jin Se-Yeon as immortal lovers in spirit, doomed to be endlessly separated through death and re-birth by his fiery temper and her feckless girlhood. They yearn someday for a world in which personal vengeance and the victim-hood of women will no longer be celebrated in human legend.
Supporting players are said to included veteran actors Lee Won Jong as the Spirit of Homely Everyman, Kim Mi-Kyung as the ajumma Goddess, Sung Dong-il as a Great Ham, Shin Min Ah as the most Beautiful Woman in the The Known Universe, and Sir Ian McKellen as The Gandalf.
Sorry, I added of that last bit myself.

OMG for a second I was like WTH and then I read it again and I'm still laughing. It's true the two of them are the perfect pair in the sense that their characters are always dying :-)
Maybe that's the silver lining if they ever pair up. Both leads will die so, no mourning the better halves. ;-)

As long as he doesn't die I'll watch this movie. My heart can only take KNG's death that much. So far I witnessed him died 3 times in dramas n movie. It's already heartbreaking and traumatizes me.

No No no No No no Noooooo.......!!! *shakes head*
I was bit of upset/disappointed when I read some comments say that Kim Nam Gil (his character in this movie) will possibly die in the end.....OH. MY. GOSH. That CAN'T be seriooooous!!!
ALERT: My advice to you all is: To buy a pig in a poke ~ it means don't open the box unless you get home, for example.
Anywaaay......Just DON'T say anything that you assume unless you'll watch this movie. ;) I hope he will appear to be alive out of blue in the end....!!! :D
Isn't it perfectly beautiful?! *claps*

Jeon Do-yeon was good in secret sunshine .but she usually was naked in her movies. I hope she will act with her ability of acting not depend nudity in this movie. it's a great theme that I memorize Casablanca, just don't waste her talent.
