Choi Jin-hyuk courted to join Fated To Love You
by girlfriday
Now that Jang Hyuk and Jang Nara have confirmed that they’ll be reuniting for the summer romantic comedy drama Fated to Love You, the offer has been made to Choi Jin-hyuk (Emergency Couple) to play the second lead. He’s considering favorably, though there are currently other offers on his plate. I don’t really want Choi Jin-hyuk to play a second lead in dramas anymore, but perhaps the project is too tempting to pass up. I do like him in rom-coms, so I can’t exactly complain about it if he joins the cast of an upbeat show.
Fated to Love You is a remake of the 2008 Taiwanese drama of the same name, about a couple forced into a contract marriage after a one-night stand gets them pregnant. Jang Hyuk plays the chaebol heir with a prickly shell, and Jang Nara plays the weak heroine whose only good trait is her kindness (grooooan).
If he signs on, Choi Jin-hyuk will play the other guy who falls for Jang Nara and has a one-sided love for her. I can already feel the line forming for the second lead support group. Will there be hugs and free cookies?
Fated to Love You will air on Wednesdays and Thursdays on MBC, following A New Leaf (which follows Sly and Single Again). It premieres in July.

People kept saying that Choi Jin Hyuk match the lead role and Jang Hyuk don't but i think it's the opposite. I have watch Fated To Love You like 3 times already since i love it. And when they announces that Jang Hyuk & Jang Nara will be the leads i immediately think that they are perfect for the roles. I have watch them both in Bright Girl and the male lead that Jang Hyuk plays there almost have the same attitude and personality like Cun Xi (Ethan's character in FTLY). And Jang Hyuk plays his character in Bright Girl really well so i'm sure he is perfect as Cun Xi. And Jang Nara is perfect for Xin Yi (Joe Chen's character) since she looks the part.
And i actually think Choi Jin Hyuk would do better as Dylan. If this drama succeeds it will benefit him a lot too. Because Dylan is a well love character. True, his character is the typical perfect 2nd male lead. But don't fan girls always root and fall for the perfect guy. Dylan always go to Xinyi's rescue and is like her knight and fans tend to root his this type of character especially if the male lead treats the girl like a garbage. And the korean version can explore more about the long lost brother-sister story of Dylan and Anna as well. And we all know Korea love a perfect loving oppa (older brother) figure. Dylan has all the traits that Korea loves. So it could get CJH more ajumma fans and young fans as well.
As for Anna i hope the korean version won't make her character bitchy because Anna is quite nice.Though she did make mistakes because of her love to Cunxi, over-all she's still quite nice and a character you can sympathize. I actually pity her most of the time. So i'm happy when she reunited with her older brother (Dylan) in the end. I'm happy that she finally will have someone to lean on.

why why why do Asian countries like to make remakes???!!! if some drama/movie is so great, why not just watch the original? FTLY female lead character was annoying in so many respects and there were so many scenes that really didn't make any sense and the ending was so predictable and cheesy.. i can't imagine the korean version being any better. yes, i watched the TW ver till the end but i also fast forwarded thru much of it because it was unnecessarily long.. in general, this remake is a bad idea!
