Yoon Seung-ah to play Kim Sung-kyun’s wife in Murder for Hire
by awcoconuts
It’s a match made in tvN series heaven: Yoon Seung-ah (I Need Romance 3) is in talks to take the part of Kim Sung-kyun’s wife in the upcoming movie Murder for Hire. Kim Sung-kyun is skillfully parlaying his popularity as Samcheonpo in Answer Me 1994; this is the second leading film role he’s committed to since the show’s conclusion.
Yoon Seung-ah’s team said the actress is still considering the project and will make a final decision this week. She is better known for her TV work (in addition to taking on Hee-jae in I Need Romance 3, she played Go Soo’s younger sis in Empire of Gold and Seol in The Moon That Embraces the Sun) than her films (Goodbye My Smile and a couple of campy horror flicks), but perhaps this will be the job that boosts her film actress cred.
Not much is known about the plot, but Murder for Hire will star Kim Sung-kyun and Kim Sang-kyung (The Tower) as detectives chasing a murderer. The role won’t be much of a stretch for Kim Sang-kyung, who also played an investigator in last year’s profitable flick Montage. It appears that MiiN Pictures, the production company behind both Montage and Murder for Hire, is looking to repeat its success with the same recipe, just slightly different ingredients.
Murder for Hire begins filming in April, and newcomer (as far as I can tell?) Sohn Yong-ho will direct.

Is that the right picture of Yoon Seung Ah? It doesn't look like the girl from INR3, and doesn't match the pictures I found from google

I looked at the photo, and scratched my head, as I watched INR3, but have not idea who she played in it. I never make an effort to remember char names. Just too many. Was Hee Jae the maknae in the office?

I had a double take as well, but taking a closer look, that's her. It must be the makeup and lighting.

Don't really like Yoon Seung-ah's acting .. The cupcake drama that she was in was horrible and I think it killed a few of my brain cells. However, I love Samcheonpo..

Totally agree- she comes across as super simpering and pathetic in all the roles I've seen her in. Not a fan, and also agree that photo looks nothing like her.

Didn't recognize her picture but I looked it up and she was the slave swordsman in Moon That Embraces the Sun. That's the only role I liked her in, but I loved Kim Sung-kyun, and a good actor can elevate his leading lady so I'll hope for the best! GO SAMCHEONPO!

Even though I liked Yoon Seung Ah in Playful Kiss and still find her cute...she has really not improved much and remain very green for me....her acting has been frustrating to watch in both Moon Sun and IN3 where I kept wondering what another more promising newcomer like say Han Groo could've done for the role

I agree. Somehow I found her acting to be really awkward in INR3. I kept thinking is it the character or is it her? I wonder how this character would have been if it was in the hands of a more talented actor.

I agree about her acting. I don't think her playful kiss gig was rly anything too special to speak of, it's just the best role she's ever played among all the roles I've watched her in. She's one if those mopey actresses that just never draw me in.

Her role as Go Soo's little sis is...forgettable. Not her fault though.

Montage is AMAZING so I can't wait for this now. Yes to the Mr. Kims, Kim Sungkyun and Kim Sangkyung! Since the latter is playing the role of a detective (again, LOL) so I suppose Sungkyun is taking the murderer role, am I right? Hopefully!

Aw it's nice to see him do well. I hope Min Do hee gets leading roles of her own too. I don't mind her doing a busan accent again but I do hope that she gets to break her mould.
