I like him and yay that he is returning to modern dramas....the drama and character sound very cliched but let's see how it turns out.

I'm glad! I recently started Scent of a Woman, and now only 4 eps left. I'm wondering why I didn't watch it sooner (probably because I thought it was going to be a tearjerker but there's some great funny moments)

Is it just me or is he barely recognisable without a moustache?

Never seen/heard of the pd/writers works and weekend dramas aren't exactly my cup of tea.

But darn, i kinda wanted to see him in a modern weekday drama too, not weekender. That's how i felt when jung il woo took up gold rainbow and then when lee jun ki took up angel eyes... Once in a blue moon i start a weekend drama -- and ones that i actually finish? Perhaps 1 my entire k-drama watching experience. Creating destiny, which was around 30 episodes with a cute OTP who ended up married irl.
My limit with melo is something along the lines of Nice Guy/TWTWB/Will it Snow for Christmas? And my limit with makjang is even lower -- Baker King. You gotta give me a character to root for.

Lee Dong Wook oppa! I saw him first in scent of a woman. At first I thought he's Korean-American because his face doesn't look korean and I wondered who's this handsome cute actor. Turned out, he was already 30 in SOAW!

Yay!!! Although it's another cold chaebol character. My favourite role of his was in Wild Romance, (I still haven't seen La Dolce Vita, darnit) his character was so endearingly dumb and his comedic timing was spot on. Despite how flawed that show was, I really enjoyed the characters.

It's a little bit weird how these big name actors are now heading to weekend dramas (Lee Jun Ki, Lee Dong Wook) while up and comers like Lee Jong Suk are (potentially) headlining weekday primetime shows (Dr. Stranger). And idols are grabbing these roles too, with Yoochun headlining 3 Days. Are they not being offered the (weekday) shows? Or do they going for the safer bet - doing a drama that isn't going to flop in the ratings, since weekend dramas generally do better than weekday ones? Idk.

his pop-out eyes & grimace acting in MOH still lingers in my mind..it's a nightmare..LOL! dunno whether to check this out or not since the plot sounds nothing special to me..better wait for teasers then..

Even though the show took a turn for the worse, I liked him very much in Wild Romance. That show turned all kinds of crazy.

by any chance, is it too much to ask for Kim Sun Ah to co-star with him on this drama? XD they made such an AMAZING couple in Scent of a Woman and the chemistry was sizzling!!

I am happy for this piece of news too! As JB said, LDW has been consistently solid/good (besides being absolutely delicious of course :-) ) in the modern shows. And I am still in the process to erase what I saw of him in Mandate of Heaven (wasn't sure what he intended to do there)!!

I will definitely check out this show if just to see the beautiful man in modern attire and acting all chaebol-y ;-)

This type of role definitely suits Lee Dong-wook better...and I'm glad he's considering this. Doesn't seem that much of a stretch from his role in Scent of a Woman (which I loved...and loved his chemistry with Kim Sun-ah...tango never looked so freakin hot!!).

I liked Mandate of Heaven, despite his acting...which I am hopefully attributing to the sageuk genre than his acting doing a downturn. It's a weekend drama though so I'm not being overly optimistic. Even more so because it's being written by the writer of Feast of Gods...that ended up being a crapper, even if that was like the only instance where Lee Sang-woo actually got the girl at the end!

Surprsingly, I've never seen Lee Dong Wook act. I've always seen him in variety shows. I hope this will be an interesting drama!

I dunno... after reading the outline I envision a clash of Lie To Me (ie Hyun Ki Joon) and Heirs (ie Choi Young Do). Don't get me wrong, imma still watching it for Mr Nayo.
