Yoo Yeon-seok to star opposite Im Soo-jung in romantic thriller

Well it’s certainly somebody’s breakout year, and that someone’s name is Yoo Yeon-seok. The Answer Me 1994 star has scored himself one juicy lead role in a movie, opposite Im Soo-jung (All About My Wife) no less. He’ll be joining her newest film Secret Temptation, a remake of a 1960s Hollywood film apparently, though it sounds a hell of a lot more like the 1990s film Indecent Proposal. (Or was that a remake of a remake of a remake? Who knows anymore.) Yoo Yeon-seok will star as Im Soo-jung’s lover who sends her to seduce a wealthy man in a dangerous power game.
The movie is the latest project from director Yoon Jae-kyu, who directed the thriller Secret and penned Seven Days. Im Soo-jung stars as the main character who falls in love with Yoo Yeon-seok, but he sends her to marry a wealthy older man, played by Lee Kyung-young (Hwa-yi). Judging from the setup it’s certainly for nefarious reasons, not because he’s being a noble idiot and sending her away for her own good. The central couple is driven by the temptation of wealth, as they trade love for ambition and suffer the consequences of betrayal.
I hope there are also more Chilbongie-esque roles in Yoo Yeon-seok’s future, because he’s played his fair share of despicable characters (mostly because he’s just really good at them). But a headlining role in a movie opposite Im Soo-jung is worth gettin’ your evil on, I’d say.
Secret Temptation starts shooting early in the new year.

I may be one of the few who hasn't watched OB. I YT'd the infamous chemistry lab scene and after having being introduced to Chilbongie I couldn't wrap my mind around the character YYS was playing in the movie. They were polar opposites, alright!

The fact that with every forthcoming episode of AM94 he's having lesser screen time (than the previous one) doesn't even upset me because of this news!! YAYYYY! SO happy!^^
That said, I NEED to see him in a drama hopefully as a lead soon times!

this is great news!
at least his acting got noticed more and his popularity increased after doing answer me 1994. at least, there's that silver lining.
for a main character in the drama, he barely appears
hopefully, he gets more roles. and yes, for me, preferably chil bong type roles. i love chil bong!

he's done a ton of movies in recent years. he's build up a good filmography over time.
he's gotten popular yes, mainly with international fans but directors do cast him in korea, because of his good work and solid filmography experience.
and i don't think he's being cast in these roles because of answer me 1994. he barely appears there.

Yayy happy about this. I hope he'll score a drama as the only lead as well because they're doing such a disservice to his character in R94 right now. Despite the turn of events in Ep 17, Im still convinced more than ever that he's the husband (don't question my sanity, I have none at the moment) but his lack of screentime is just ridiculous.
Rant aside, Im happy that R94 introduced me to this actor because even with the small amount of material he's given to work with in these past episodes, he nails them every time. There's a beauty in how he portrays Chilbong's heartbreak with so much restraint. So I too hope he'll play another "nice" character in the future.

Because fans can't see CB getting hurt or crushing on NJ anymore, and viewers were tired of the love triangle that isn't really a triangle, so pd decided to not have CB from1994 in episode 16, he still appeared on episode 16 on future scenes btw.

My first thought after I read he played bad guys was " what the hell he played bad guys????". I've only seen him in Gu Family and am in love with his chilbongie so far. I can't imagine him as a villain!

Awe girlfriday, we can wallow in our feels for Chilbong! I'm so happy though, YYS made me fall in love with him for AM 1994 and I'm happy he's getting a lot of offers after this. thought that I was seeing double on DB and there was a glitch lol

Will be watching! but gosh, seriously before Chilbongie, I didn't feel anything for Yeon Suk...usually I dislike the character he plays...I wish he would play nicer characters as a lead too...not just evil 1s...even though he's fantastic in those roles.
