Jo Yeo-jung considers rom-com movie Working Girl
by javabeans
The romantic-comedy movie All About My Wife was a hit in 2012, so there’s definite interest in seeing whether its producers can make another one with its follow-up movie, which is tentatively titled Working Girl and currently in talks with Jo Yeo-jung to sign her on as leading lady.
Initial reports mistakenly called Working Girl the All About My Wife 2, but that’s a misnomer; the producers are the same, but the stories are unrelated. Working Girl will be a romantic comedy centering around a careerwoman… and that’s all we’ve got so far. I expect there to be a twist of some sort, based on All About My Wife’s quirky premise that made a rom-com out of a wimpy husband hiring another man to seduce his wife so he could divorce her. No doubt Wife owes much of its success to its awesome cast (Lee Seon-kyun, Im Soo-jung, Ryu Seung-ryong), but I’m going to hope that Working Girl finds a way to give its standard “modern woman in the city” story a fresh angle.
Jo Yeo-jung will have a busy 2014 whether she takes this movie or not, as she has already lined up an ero-melo movie with Song Seung-heon called Human Addiction and an action movie titled Target starring Ryu Seung-ryong. I do like her in brighter, romantic-comedy projects (I Need Romance, Haeundae Lovers) so perhaps she’ll be transitioning to more mainstream roles. Because while I have no gripes about actresses doing lots of risqué material, Jo has done so many erotic-thriller type movies in a row (okay, three—Bang-ja Chronicle, Concubine, Human Addiction) that a it couldn’t hurt to shake things up with a change of pace.
Working Girl will be directed by Jung Beom-shik of Scary Story and will begin filming in February.

Yes! I love this girl! She has great dramas so I hope the movie will be interesting as well. Just hope not to see her in long 50 or 100 episode daily or weekend dramas anymore.

All About My Wife was a great movie with a fantastic cast. If this film is even half as good it will be worth seeing.

Love that film. I think they should just keep it as a movie. I don't want unnecessary drama in a 16-episodes. But I do like Jo Yeo Jung and she does seem fit for the role. Sassy and bold. :D

Seducing Mr. Perfect!!!
You made some really great suggestions for July, but I really liked Seducing Mr. Perfect! I think Daniel Henney is gorgeous, but I'd never been that taken with him in any Korean role until I saw SMP.
Also, Penny Pinchers is one I recommend. I remember not wanting to watch it b/c it sounded a bit dull, but it was really sweet and funny. I'd watch it again.
Enjoy!

My Little Bride is so so so good. It's full of cute and funny.
Also, Sunny, is a great film! It's from the same director as Speedy Scandal and it's such a fun and touching film.
Antique Bakery is a big yes - FOUR HOT GUYS! It also has a cute story line.
Dancing Queen is really sweet and funny.
The Marrying the Mafia series is also pretty good fun.
Chilling Romance is cute and a bit spooky.
My personal must watches are My Little Bride, Sunny and Speedy Scandal (with Dancing Queen next) and from the ones sogazelle recommended, My Girlfriend is an Agent and My Sassy Girl are must watches!

Great picks for romcom... this will be mine too, I would also advise on sunny, my little bride, sassy girl... those are really must watch..!!! also add chilling romance just cause Lee min ki was awesome in it in my books, and i still got my horror-com fever since master's sun!
haven't yet watched speedy scandal but heard/read some great things about it, and with cha tae hyun in it, I guess nothing could go wrong...
PS. this was park bo young's first movie that shoot her to stardom, right?

Definitely watch My Sassy Girl, it's a Korean rom-com classic.
200 Pounds Beauty and Dancing Queen are also really cute and funny.
From the more recent crop of rom-coms, I enjoyed the following:
Love Fiction (Ha Jung-woo, Gong Hyo-jin)
Temperature of Love (Lee Min-ki, Kim Min-hee)
All About My Wife (Im Soo-jung, Ryu Seung-ryong, Lee Seon-kyun)

Hmm, I wonder, any relation in story to the 80s big hair and shoulder pad heavy rom com Working Girl with Melanie Griffiths, Sigourney Weaver, and Harrison Ford? Or perhaps they only share a name because of the concept. *shrug*

I'm also wondering the same thing.
Maybe going out with Lee Minho was detrimental to her career.
Women are usually the ones suffering in these kind of situations with the Korean society wanting girls/actresses to always maintain the so called "pure", "innocent" image.
These is just rambling of course...I have no idea what happened to her...

it seems like she took a year off with after her busy schedule last year with dramas and school...
right now she is getting back with schedule but mostly endorsements projects. with her sighning uo witth same company as jeon ji hyun's com i think most likly next year she will be in new dramas/movie...
but i agree with you somehow that this hiatus may likly be due to the fall out of break up with LMH...

OMG! SSH in an R-rated film? Wowza! Yes please....Hahaha...
I've seen most of JYJ's ero films and she's got it down to a T. But I also like seeing her in those sweet and wholesome roles...
But damn... SSH in an ero film....
