Trailer and stills for Kim Sun-ah’s action thriller The Five

Okay, this trailer totally creeps me out, but in a good way. I’m happy that Kim Sun-ah’s new revenge thriller The Five looks as dark and chilling as it was described early on, and though I’m not surprised that she threw herself into the role with gusto, there are definitely no traces of the rom-com queen in this role. The new film is a webtoon adaptation directed by the webtoon’s creator himself, starring Kim Sun-ah as a woman who loses her family to a brutal attack by a serial killer leaving her in a wheelchair, and pours every ounce of her will into getting revenge.
To do so she assembles a team — The Five — including herself as the revenge architect, Lee Chung-ah (Wonderful Mama) as the tracker, Shin Jung-geun (Kkang-chulie) as the infiltration specialist, Ma Dong-seok (A Warm Goodbye) as the muscle, and Jung In-ki (Two Weeks) as the doctor in charge of finishing the job. She makes a dangerous deal with each of them, and together they plan the perfect murder.
The trailer starts out with her cold declaration that if there is a god who allowed that serial killer to be, she’ll go ahead and kill that god too. She assembles her team, offering to cut out her own heart if they can just kill him. The chase begins, and then the twist comes as they discover that it’s possible that they’re not chasing him, but being chased instead. And then the killer (played by Sword and Flower’s Ohn Joo-wan) creeps up behind her to hang a necklace around her neck and whispers: “Don’t turn around.” Aaaaaack. Okay, you’ve got my goosebumps.
The Five hits theaters November 14.

Whoah, what a tranformation. For the longest time I've been thinking how KSA needs to step out of her romcom territory and spread her wings a bit, and I am so glad she did because this looks like it is gonna blow my socks off. Definitely adding this to my to watch list.

The basic plot does sound little bit like Hindi movie Army but only in the part where a woman gathers five men to kill a criminal who killed her family..

Really hope this gets subbed soon! Kim Sun Ah is reliably amazing in most of her roles, so am excited to see how she goes in this one.

The initial premise reminds me of the Bolly movie "Army" (mid 90s, I think). But yeah, after looking into the webcomic, it looks like it will be a pretty good thriller.

Gosh', I'm sucker for this kind of movie.
Gotta add it to my long list of "to watch". Korean movies are going to be the end of me. I watched some good ones recently and I really understand why some actors prefer to stick to movies after hitting big with some. Working conditions are better, wages are better and creativity is better.

i saw Kim Sunah, Dong-seok and Joo-wan promoting the movie at KBS World. The kept on laughing and joking to each other that Sunah continuously reminds the viewer that the movie is a Thriller, not a comedy. They are all so cute =)

Waaaaait. The bad guy is Ohn Joo Wan from My Mighty Princess. Well, that's a shame. That means I can never, ever watch this movie, or his precious little face will forever be altered in my heart and mind, and nope. Just nope.

Wow!!! just wow :) No wonder I'm so hyper this month. Almost everything I've been waiting for is gonna happen this November :) I've never loved this month this way before :) Early Christmas present from Kim Sun Ah unni :) Definitely worth the watch and She never let's me down so, I'm in!!! Although I love men,Ajuhsiss or not,
I adore Kim sun ah too, she is my fav in dramaland into the women department,she is able to make me cry and smile easily in the same scene and that is for privileged and talented actors,Kang Ji wang, Soon Yoon ki,Ryu seu Riong, Go hyo , Gon Yoo, Oh ma seok,and a handfull more.
