Second teaser and more stills for Prime Minister and I

The second teaser for Prime Minister and I is out, though it isn’t much of a change from the first, merely flipping around the perspective to show Yoon-ah’s side (the first featured Prime Minister Lee Beom-soo getting ready for his day). Mostly what I get from it is tone, since it does little to explain the story (of a prime minister single dad who falls in love with the “young mother” who comes into their lives), and seems like a bright, uplifting type of rom-com.

Lee Beom-soo recently gave an interview describing the show and his role, and described Yoon-ah, Chae Jung-ahn, Ryu Jin, and Yoon Shi-yoon as cheerful, comfortable, and enjoyable co-stars who keep the set atmosphere fun. (Not that I’d expect anything less than compliments in this kind of interview.) There’s actually a funny coincidence connecting him and Yoon-ah, as he moved into a new apartment building not long ago and realized that she was an upstairs neighbor, although they’ve never run into each other. Is there an apartment villa in Seoul just for celebrities, and would that be really cool or uncomfortably surreal?

Lee’s a father in real life — he has a daughter and his wife is pregnant with their second child — though hopefully he’s better at it than his character, who’s sharp and smart in politics but completely without skills in the domestic realm. He describes the drama as a “warm, happy, romantic” show, which keeps things light and heartwarming for the Christmas season. It seems like the extreme melos and makjang crazies are the big hits these days, but I wouldn’t be averse to having feel-good shows getting more love.

Prime Minister and I airs on Mondays and Tuesdays beginning December 9.

I was just going to say i get anthony - Lee Go Eun vibes based off of their chemistry. It could also be the way lee bum soo is styled just like anthony, no to mention yoona has the same exact hairstyle as Jung Ryu Won in KOD.

I'm not a fan of Yoona but I liked LBS in History of a Salaryman, and I like fluffy light Rom/coms even more -- so I'll have to watch at least a few episodes of this -- I can enjoy less serious fare more easily -- cliffhangers always stress me out waiting for the next episode, LOL.

I think they're focusing on the two leads to ease people into the idea. With everyone whining over the age gap, they have some pretty heavy convincing to do.

But there are images of him around, from filming and such. I'm more curious about our villain and second female lead. Nothing from them yet. You'd think at least the rival would get more exposure. But maybe keeping him mysterious is the idea.

I have rather the feeling that each character gets such a trailer leading up to the premiere introducing their characters. It has been almost exactly one week since the trailer wich focuses more on Lee Beom Soo. So maybe Yoon Shi Yoon is next.

probably to put out the main pairing out there as much as possible...

when first filming started, photos of yoona and yoon shin yoon filming together was released as well as a news article about it... people were raving about the drama pairing because they look good together. the news article was then edited at the end of the day to emphasize that lee beum soo is the main lead.

My only tonight about this article is that Celebrity Apartment Villa sounds like an awesome show idea! Then i thought, "Nah, because you know the heroine world be the spunky Candy who walks their dogs or cleans all their toilets."

Why nah? That sounds like the typical Candy starting point. Add an arrogant, spoiled and significantly violent and misogynistic top star celebrity male lead and you have the basic kdrama recipe for "romance"! :P

Every time an idol is casted in a drama, so many people complain that other rookie actresses don't get a chance, etc etc etc. honestly, I think the argument is pretty useless because this is a money making business. Whether we like it or not, Suzy and Yoona will bring in a lot more money from the get go than say a Lee Yoo-bi would - even if she may be the better actress. The argument is futile, so I guess instead of repeating something that really won't change, we might as well just move on...

Anyhoo - just wanted to rant there. I'm not into the too-much-smiling from Yoona, but she looks sweet and this looks fluffy. I like the lightness to it all, and I'm hoping it stays that way unlike MC which was promoted like this and ended up being angsty... Kinda looking forward to this - so drama, don't disappoint!!

heirs is promoted as romantic comedy in high school too...

most kdramas have one genre - romance melodrama... dramas being promoted as a medical, sports, comedy, etc initially are just lies... LOL

i think it's the smile. the smile she gave in her acting and her idol life are the same.

why can't she choose drama which she has to be a grumpy girl or someone with bad history or a traumatic girl or anything but bubbly girl with innocent image?

she type casted so much and it doesn't peek my interest to see her act,

yoona did a bratty role in 9 ends 2 outs. yoona also did great in portraying 2 very different characters in love rain. did not watch both you are my destiny and cinderella man though, so can not comment on those.

kdramas have a basic pattern for the lead roles - characters deviating from it are the exceptions, not the norm.

it is probably your image of yoona that is giving you a barrier in seeing her in character...

most kdrama watchers are so involved with the actors/actresses that it seems they can not separate the character or role from it...

much like moon geun young's... she looks young, but if you compare her looks now from a decade ago - there are traces of maturity in her face too. but audience can not seem to separate the image of her as nation's little sister that it is hard for them to actually watch her doing adult roles.

the pairing doesn't look nearly as odd as it sounded.

i saw upto 2 or 3 eps of love rain post timeskip, and my god, her FACE. she's so adorable, and no longer a bad actress, ppl need to get over the yoona hate. i feel like her and yoon shi yoon would have wonderful chemistry..... these days i read 9/10 drama synopses like 'ok, sure, but if *insert tweak here* it would be SO AWESOME'.

yeah,,because, mostly, countries where they use PM,,then there will be a king/queen,,just like england, japan, thailand, etc..

but of course there are countries where a president co-exist with PM...

and I think between king or president to co-exist with PM, k-drama will use king because of its joseon history...

that's what i'm thinking......

Well, yes, they did in Joseon, but modern SK does not have a king, so they would not have that in a series unless it was semi-fictional, like 'Goong'. ;)
