Park Yoo-hwan and Yoon Seung-ah join I Need Romance 3

Upcoming tvN rom-com I Need Romance Season 3 went on another happy casting spree, giving us more additions to the crew of the home shopping network where our heroine Kim So-yeon will work, which will also serve as this season’s backdrop for romance in the workplace. Joining the cast are Park Yoo-hwan (Can’t Live Without You), Yoon Seung-ah (Empire of Gold), and Park Hyo-joo (The Chaser).

Kim So-yeon stars as a fashion marketing director of a home shopping channel where most of our cast will work (with the exception of her romantic interest Sung Joon, a songwriter). Park Yoo-hwan plays the team’s 27-year-old maknae, a sweet guy who gets along fantastically with all the noonas in the workplace due to a lifetime’s worth of experience growing up with an overbearing mom and strong-willed older sister. He’s the peacemaker, the good listener, and all-around perfect dongseng.

Yoon Seung-ah plays a 25-year-old new hire at the company who spent half her twenties slaving away in preparation to join the rat race for a salaried job mostly because she’s told that’s what you have to do in life, only to come out on the other end and realize she doesn’t even have a dream. She’s in a five-year relationship with a guy studying for the civil service exam, which basically means he’s a sucky boyfriend who has no time for her, but will one day be A-list husband material. She’ll come to confide in Park Yoo-hwan like everybody else does, but sparks will fly and she’ll end up attracted to him instead.

Park Hyo-joo plays another member of the team who enjoys her single life at 36, and is a survivor above all else. She’s a happy-go-lucky, laid-back character who enjoys both online and offline dating and generally keeps to casual short-term relationships. She’ll encounter an unexpected opportunity for romance that promises to deliver laughs.

There are just so many people to like in this drama. I’m looking forward to Yoon Seung-ah’s mid-twenties identity crisis storyline; it sounds really relatable and cute. And I guess this means both Yoobros will be on TV at the same time, which I’m thinking is bad news to no one.

I Need Romance 3 is set to air on Mondays and Tuesdays in January.

I'm really looking forward to INR3 as it has so many actors that I like....plus a workplace drama is one of my favorite themes :-)

tvN is really doing well with the 'seasons' trend along with spin-offs. I wonder why the bigger networks don't try it out. There are so many dramas that could do with a spin-off of sorts if not a direct sequel... maybe we will see that trend soon.

I'm not a huge fan of this year's INR but I really loved the 2012 one. I'll check out an episode or 2 then decide. But I'm liking the cast so far.

I was wondering what happened to Park Yoo-hwan! Totally looked up his profile yesterday to see what he's been up to. I'm glad he's back ^^ and I hope baby face Yoon Seung-ah actually has some screentime in the one since she was essentially non-existent in Empire of Gold.

Ooooh. Yoohwan! I've only ever seen him in The Strongest K-POP Survival and though that drama was lacking in so many different aspects, I thought Yoohwan was likable and not a bad actor.

...I'm still kind of mad that that drama got cut off and left everyone (me, at least) hanging.

Will definitely watch it bcoz of Sung Joon and PYH... may be a romantic line for PYH will be good too, since his role is already 27 years old!

I rather like the INR series even though I felt the ending of the first season was rather painful. It's the only series that has managed to successfully make me pine away for the Second Leads - I usually have no trouble cheering for the OTPs, but this franchise has been really good at making me contract Second Lead Syndrome.

Totally looking forward to this, especially Kim So Yeon! tVN is really owning cable TV with their careful selection of dramas, and their well-produced trendies.

I hope this year's INR will take a page from Reply 1994 and give the Second Lead a fair shot at ending up with the heroine! Although I guess it's easier and less stressful on the viewers if the OTPs are already established. But that contributed to the problem I had with INR2012 (Haven't seen the first one although apparently it ended similarly) where I KNEW the girl would end up with her ex-bf/bff in the end, even though he was frustrating and thus hard to root for. At the same time, I wasn't really invested in the heroine's story with the second lead since they were doomed anyways.

So it'd be interesting to see if they'll deviate from the pattern this time. I'll give this a chance since I have a Sung Joon bias and surprisingly liked Yoon Seung-ah in "Panda and the Hedgehog." And I do like how the atmosphere is generally lighthearted and fun with a dash of sexy.

yay! yoohwanie is back on dramaland. totally looking forward to this season of INR. INR2 was such a meh unlike the first one which was throughly engaging. yoohwanie is playing roles that are in his brothers age. im sure he'll do well nonetheless. :)

Wow this is a huge step up since their 2nd season, huh?
I loved the first one better, and even with my previous statement I still find INR 2012 has its very little charm in its very little department.

Cast wise this could be the best INR so far. So, I'm clicking my shoes as they go. Air already, show.
