Script readings begin for Thrice Married Woman

…And Ha Suk-jin takes a bubble bath for Cosmo. Those two things are related, right? Anyway, it really did happen: Thrice Married Woman got off the ground and into production. The troubled weekend drama for SBS has had its share of setbacks and then some, but it looks like wheels are finally up, cast AND crew in place. The next Kim Soo-hyun drama family to-be, led by Lee Jia (Me Too, Flower) and Eom Ji-won (Childless Good Fortune), gathered for their first script read. Though didn’t they already have a bunch of those, leading to that whole casting debacle… you know what, never mind. Let’s just forge ahead, shall we?
The new family weekend drama is set to follow Goddess of Marriage, and stars Lee Jia and Eom Ji-won as sisters with complicated love lives. Lee Jia headlines as the thrice married woman in the title, though technically she’ll have only married twice by the start of the drama. Song Chang-eui (The Great Seer) plays her first husband (and single father, the circumstances for which are still unclear), and Ha Suk-jin (Childless Good Fortune) plays her new love interest, a guy who’s still in school for his management degree. You mean we have to choose between them? That’s terrible. Er, wait, what am I talking about…it’s the opposite of terrible.
The drama will be about her crazy roller coaster of a love life, and her relationship with her outwardly cold unni, who will eventually show a softer caring side when push comes to shove. My question is, if all the boys are for Lee Jia, then who dates unni? The drama will be a multigenerational look at marriage and divorce, and how differently those institutions are considered between our parents’ generation and our own. Jo Han-seon, Kim Yong-rim, Kang Bu-ja, Kim Yong-gun, Kim Ja-ok, and Oh Mi-yeon co-star.
The drama premieres November 9, and I have to say, I’m starting to look forward to it, and not just because of this (okay, so sue me, it’s a little bit because of this)…

I don't mind haha! But as much as I love him, I'm not a fan of Lee Jia. For some reason, I can never warm up to her as an actress despite seeing glimpses of her in a few different productions already. Sigh.

After all the behind-the-scenes drama I really doubted I'd ever see everything finalized.
I'm so happy to see Lee Ji Ah acting again! I hope she'll show us some even better acting this time.

He is a good actor but all his good dramas are the ones on the weekends never the primetimes, wonder why..?
But nevertheless I am happy, weekend drama means longer episodes thus more time to see him, right?

Sounds good. I'm so excited that Lee Ji Ah is finally starring in a new project. I don't really know what ratings to expect though. I just hope that it's much more popular than Me Too, Flower (and better).

You know, I have watched almost ALL of GoM, with a reliance on viki comments and Squeecaps to keep me going. It seems like a walk in the park to watch this series.
There is NO way that they could make any of these characters more detestable than most of the GoM people.

Goddess of marriage is such a messy drama that the only reason I followed it was kim ji hoon!! Im hesitant about following another drama with divorce-marriage plots but those pics at the bottom are a great reason to consider watching!

A theory - maybe it was so hard to get someone good since they were trying to keep actor costs down? Kim Soo Hyun reportedly got 100k USD per ep for her cable drama, and if they're paying her like here that they can't have much spare change around......

SBS is not JTBC (or any other cable station): They have much more $$ for their dramas and if what they want is a hit (given the writer, I'd go for that), they open their wallets.

Lee Ji Ah is one of my three favorite Korean actresses! I loved her in Me Too, Flower, and of course, The Legend with Bae Yong Joon. I am SO looking forward to this drama.
