Kang Ji-hwan plays lady-killer thief in action rom-com

Kang Ji-hwan has been cast in a new movie, and he’ll be heading back to rom-com-land (wheeee) with Romancing Game, which follows the sweet romance between a thief who knows how to steal ladies’ hearts (along with the actual things he robs) and a female detective who’s a novice in love.
The movie will meld “dynamic action” with rom-com elements as Kang Ji-hwan plays an elusive thief, which sounds like just the kind of role he’d be great at. Granted, I love him being dramatic as well, but he really does have a knack for comic timing and physical comedy (see: Coffee House, Level 7 Civil Servant). I won’t get fully excited until we know who his leading lady will be, but I’m liking what we’ve got so far. And while the playboy-versus-romantic-rookie pairing is an ever-familiar one, I like that this setup balances the power dynamic by making the inexperienced dater the authority figure. Should make for some comic hijinks, I think. (I hope!)
Kang also has another movie in the works that’ll wrap before this one begins; the low-budget film Shoot for the Sun is currently in its latter stages of filming. Romancing Game will begin filming in November.

Kang Ji Hwan acting seductive is usually a hilarious sight, so bring it on. I do hope he'll try more drama, since he is a very talented actor and should not be stuck with comedy alone, but I can't say I don't also love him in his usual roles.
But who is directing and who is the writer? Any mention of those? Until I know those and the leading lady, I'll be cautious and patient.

yea, it definitly does. among those one of the best slo mo shots ever.
its the over the top and stupid sort of movie, but for anyone who likes kang ji hwan id give it a try.
dont expect high art, but its certainly good for some entertainment if you leave your brain at the door. just the kind of thing i really like occassionally.

I agree that it's interesting having the authority figure be the novice in love, although I would prefer the guy being less experienced just because that's more unusual (outside of a noona romance). Actually sometimes even in a noona romance, the noona will be romantically inexperienced to even things out a little bit, I guess? Anyway this sounds like it could be fun.

Well this story like "Catch me" movie which starring Joowon as detective and Kim ahjoong as thief,but this time male lead (Kang jihwan) will play as thief and main female as detective. I wonder how this movie will turn out

Loved Kang Ji Hwan in rom-com Coffee House....he was sooooo good in it....

Lol, Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl came into my head as well. Good movie, it was pretty cool how the girls he'd robbed banded together and got back at him. I'm all for girl power.:D
This movie sounds fantastic too! I'll watch anything that goes romcom and Kang Ji Hwan. Perhaps they could get Yoon Eun Hye to be the female lead? That would be so awesome!

Yeahh!! As a diehard Kang Ji Hwan fan I love him being adorable and witty! I still think he was superb in Coffee House! that character was so one of a kind!

I like coffee house too, I thought it's Yoon Eun Hye drama at first, but it's different. I don't like Coffee prince because the story done many time but I like Coffee house the story is unpredictable n the last episode is surprising

I think he's a male equivalent of Yoon Eun Hye in that he can play a total dork or a total sexpot, and he has great chemistry with all of his leads. He is quite versatile, but he's at his best when he's the the charming sexy funny guy. I'll be interested in seeing who is cast as the female lead.

YAY! Happy KJH has a new film in the making. I really like his acting be it in comedy or drama. He is a very versatile actor who takes his craft seriously.

I think kang Ji was doing the same roles in the cinema for one reason MONEY. He has had many ugly affairs with his agenncies lately and he surely needs pocket money to get over this mess behind the legal battle...
But I wish, he could show his colors in other roles a sageuk it would be a fire proof to test the water...
