Master’s Sun: Episode 11

Thank goodness the new ep finally rolled around so we can all stop rewinding the end of the last one, yes?

I continue to feel giddy over the developments in this show, which are not only hitting consistent beats of satisfaction but accomplishing them with a nicely paced acceleration. There have been so many shows that start out amazing and exciting and so full of promise, only to dip at the very end, and I never quite know how to feel about those. But I’ll always take the show that took a few beats to get started, then built that momentum successfully toward a well-placed crescendo. I’m crossing my fingers that this show continues on its course to being the latter case.

EPISODE 11 RECAP

Joong-won confesses that he loves Gong-shil, which comes out more like I’m pretty sure I love you, but coming from him it’s a pretty huge deal either way. Her first impulse is to ask whether he’s joking. He says that he had difficulty accepting the truth of her ghost-seeing condition but eventually did, therefore she should accept this truth. Which cracks me up, as you are putting your love for her on the same level as her terror of ghosts.

She asks whether this actually changes anything, or if he’s saying this to keep her from touching him anymore. The look of frustration on his face at the sideways turn of this conversation is making my day. How could an “I love you” get so misinterpreted? But that’s the point of Gong-shil, she who interprets things sideways.

Joong-won replies, “I wondered why I kept forcing reasons when the calculations didn’t line up, and it was because I like you.” He’s decided that he’s tried his best to resist, but since that wasn’t working out, “From now I’m going to do as I want. Now your job is to stand firm and not let it sway you.”

The message is mixed, confusing Gong-shil—why is he telling her to resist him instead of accepting his feelings? He replies that this ain’t no “sweet confession” but a “bitter warning.”

As she protests, something whooshes nearby. Gong-shil barks at the ghost that she’s in the middle of something right now but it’s pretty persistent, so finally Joong-won whirls her to him. He confesses that he missed her every moment they were apart, and turned off his phone just so he wouldn’t pathetically check for her calls all the time.

Swoon. Then he says this is exactly the kind of stuff she’s supposed to resist. OH YOU. He points out that she’d already said she could withstand him (y’know, back when she was lying to herself) and thus he trusts her at her word. Or do you just want her to fail? Because I would be just peachy with failing.

Kang Woo and Yi-ryung have their own conversation outside the restaurant. Since Gong-shil called Joong-won her special one-and-only, she advises Kang Woo to give up. He replies that it’s for him to deal with, and makes extra-clear that Yi-ryung ought to stop chasing him—he’d thought she was just bored, but if she’s serious she’d better quit.

Never one to let her pride down, Yi-ryung retorts that she’s not serious at all, and she’ll quit because she’s tired, not because he told her to. But she’s blinking back tears.

Walking holding hands, Gong-shil asks whether Joong-won was affected by all the physical contact. He says that wouldn’t have been enough to sway him, which leads to a pun about her yook-gahm (sixth sense) not being the same thing as yook-gahm (sensuality), and how in the end it was her yook-gahm that got him. Heh.

He offers to do whatever she wants tonight, and she realizes with a thrill that she doesn’t have to be scared of night activities anymore. She’s giddy with all the possibilities and racks her brain for choices as a phone call interrupts (booooo). Just as she decides, he says that tonight they’ll just go to his thing, which is a a gathering of the country’s wealthiest. But first, a nicer outfit for her is in order, say in black.

Cut to: A funeral. HAHAHA. And to think, for a moment I was actually disappointed that we’d get saddled with a typical makeover montage. So much relief for the joke version.

She pouts that he didn’t have to lie about loving her just to get her to come to a funeral (which, given the pool stunt, isn’t an unfounded fear). Joong-won gripes that he wasn’t lying—it was just bad timing. She harrumphs that she doesn’t believe him and sets out with her radar up.

The deceased is Chairman Lee of rival group Giant Mall (cameo by Lee Jae-yong, whose character name is Lee Yong-jae, heh). Apparently the devoted family man actually died with his mistress at his side, keeping his wife and son away.

It’s the son who accepts visitors at the funeral hall—Lee Jae-seok, Giant Mall’s president and Joong-won’s direct competitor (cameo by Lee Jong-hyuk, keke). The moment she claps eyes on him, Gong-shil’s jaw drops in admiration; she’d assumed he’d be awful-looking based on Joong-won’s descriptions.

Joong-won fumes and reminds her, “We’re on a date. Don’t go looking at other men.” Well, it’s your fault for making a funeral your date.

Then he runs into an acquaintance and swings an arm around her shoulder, introducing her as his girlfriend. She points out that there are lots of rich people around (as in, Aren’t you worried I’ll make you look bad?) but he says, “If I can’t say the thing in front of my friends that I say in front of your friends, you’ll get mad.” True! See, he’s learning.

Gong-shil spots the chairman’s ghost at a table and reports back to Joong-won that he made a request: Get rid of a particular thing that his son mustn’t know about.

In a flashback, we see the moment when son Jae-seok discovers his father’s body at home. Strewn around the room are women’s clothing, cosmetics, and a bottle of perfume he recognizes. Having had faith in his father’s fidelity, now Jae-seok faces his father’s altar grimly.

I’m half-expecting a twist at some point, but Gong-shil tells Joong-won that the ghost wants her to clear out the mistress’s belongings, whom he’d kept successfully hidden all his life. Joong-won wishes the old man had left behind some trade secret instead (psh, you would), and deduces that if the woman were to appear suddenly, a battle over inheritance rights might erupt. He decides he’d like to see that blow up in the Giant president’s face, and advises Gong-shil to stay out of it. Ha.

Gong-shil is determined to help Jae-seok, which leads to a bickering match about whose vacation villa they should go to—Chairman Lee’s (to help out the Giant family), or Joong-won’s (to step aside). Things end in an impasse as he huffs that he’ll take her home instead. He adds that ghost-assisting isn’t his job, nor does he enjoy doing it, but he’s helping her because he wants to spend time together. Aww. But if she no longer needs him, it’s up to her to decide when this ends.

Gong-shil deflates at the reminder that all things come to an end, and says they ought not end up like that wolf and goat pair. He asks how the story ends, and she tells him to read the book. Lol.

Chairman Joo returns to Korea and is briefed on Joong-won’s latest broken engagement, as well as Gong-shil’s involvement. Kang Woo reports that Joong-won believes Gong-shil can see ghosts and possibly Hee-joo; thus he’s unlikely to believe a theory about Hee-joo being alive. Moreover, Kang Woo believes Gong-shil’s claims.

Joong-won asks for the title of the wolf-goat story, and she advises him to watch the cartoon instead since he can’t read. Pfft. She has come to a decision about their relationship, though, and suggests that they enjoy themselves and have fun while it lasts. They both agree, and both seem disappointed.

Kang Woo arrives home to see Gong-shil trudging inside and asks if anything’s wrong. He heard that Joong-won broke his engagement for her, but asks if he promised to be true to her. Gong-shil reminds Kang Woo of his advice about pain being the indicator when you aren’t true to your feelings, and says that Joong-won was true to his—”But I think the pain is my lot.”

A car almost hits Aunt and Uncle VP’s car as they pull into their complex, and Uncle VP’s ready to rage at the other driver until he sees that it’s their pretty new neighbor (cameo by Hwang Sun-hee). She’s polite and apologetic, and Aunt and Uncle are left with a favorable impression.

But then New Neighbor asks, “That’s Joo Joong-won’s aunt, right?” Standing beside her is the glowing ghost of Hee-joo. Huh, can she see ghosts too?

At Chairman Lee’s villa, caretakers begin to clear out the mistress’s belongings from the bedroom. They can’t see the chairman’s ghost raging at them, “DON’T TOUCH!” but they can certainly feel the wave of bad juju that sweeps through the room. They skedaddle.

The chairman’s ghost approaches the clutter of mistressy things, but without corporeal powers he’s unable to move them himself. Hm, I’m getting a far-fetched idea about those belongings…

Gong-shil remains convinced she should help the chairman, who looked awfully sad. His ghost also carried a fragrance that turns out to be a bottle of woman’s perfume, a sign of his longing for his mistress. Gong-shil spritzes herself thinking to attract the ghost, which should work as she’s quite popular with spirits. Turning to the empty seat, she asks, “Aren’t I?”

Joong-won just now sees that there are three coffee cups, ha. She adds that today the coffee-addict ghost brought a friend, and he asks (hopefully?) whether it’s Trash Can Man. Hearing her no, he mumbles, “So you weren’t friendly with that one.” Aw, and then he wonders whether she never got the necklace, or whether she did and is just not wearing it.

Kang Woo reminds Joong-won that his father is awaiting his visit, and Joong-won replies with the ole Tell HIM to see ME. Neither side is willing to take the first literal step, and thus they remain at impasse.

Giant prez Jae-seok arrives at Kingdom for a meeting with Joong-won, and passes Gong-shil in the lobby. Recognizing her perfume, he stops her to request its name; she doesn’t know it, but offers to show him the bottle.

But to Joong-won watching from afar, all he can do is speculate as to the nature of the encounter. And stew. He endures perhaps the world’s most annoying narrator in the form of Secretary Kim (annoying for him, I mean—hilarious for us): “The Giant Mall president has laid eyes on Tae-yang… now he’s talking to Tae-yang… they’re going somewhere together… that’s not the direction of the conference room!”

Both Joong-won and Kang Woo suppose this has to do with the father ghost and his villa. Secretary Kim says, “Ahhhh, so they’ll be heading off together then.” Joong-won and Kang Woo glare, and Secretary Kim just fuels that fire: “The Giant Mall president doesn’t have a wife by his side, and he’ll be feeling weak with his father recently deceased. She can comfort him.”

Kang Woo suggests tersely that Joong-won go after them (better the devil you know than the one you don’t?), which at least gives Joong-won his excuse. Psh.

Gong-shil shows Jae-seok the perfume, which he confirms is the scent he sometimes caught on his father. Yet even though his mother was sure there was another woman, Jae-seok had steadfastly believed dad wasn’t a cheater, making the betrayal sting. He briefly wonders whether Gong-shil is the woman, but accepts her denial.

Moments after he leaves, Joong-won shows up at the door singing a new tune: Now he wants to go to the chairman’s villa and help after all. Hee.

Uncle VP calls in Gossipy Guard Han-joo with a new assignment: Find out as much as possible about Gong-shil’s background. He knows she got into an accident just shy of graduating from university, and wants details.

Han-joo’s starting to feel pangs of guilt for abusing unni’s trust while he pumps her for info, though he shoves it aside. Unni confirms that the accident was seven years ago, but shudders at the horrible memories and doesn’t want to speak of it any further. So he invites unni to a friendly dinner, planning to loosen her tongue with alcohol. Again, he feels bad, but not bad enough to actually not do it. I hope unni delivers a mighty beatdown when she finds out what Han-joo’s been up to. (I don’t hate him—he’s a silly man with no spine—but he deserves a reckoning.)

Joong-won and Gong-shil drive over to the villa after his meeting with the Giant president, and he’s in great spirits because the other guy’s distraction allowed the negotiations to heavily favor Kingdom. Gong-shil picks up on the tension between Joong-won and his own father, and he confirms, “We don’t like each other.”

They find the chairman waiting their arrival in the mistress’s room, where he asks Gong-shil to delete the woman’s photo from his camera. But before she can get to it, they hear footsteps approaching from outside—it’s son Jae-seok.

They scramble to lock the door, but Jae-seok has a ring of master keys and starts trying them in turn. Crap. Being found here would look awful for them both, particularly given the business rivalry, but there are no exits. Gong-shil says they have to erase the photo before Jae-seok sees it, but Joong-won argues the opposite—that photo is their only proof backing the claim that they had a reason for coming here. The seconds tick down and Jae-seok is getting to the last of the keys…

Joong-won thinks fast and calls Jae-seok, barking at him to return to Kingdom immediately. He acknowledges that the deal was too stilted in Kingdom’s favor and offers to renegotiate—but it has to be NOW. Before he changes his mind.

That saves their skin, though Joong-won is left knocking his head against the wall for giving up a huge profit. As Gong-shil turns her attention to the camera, Joong-won says pointedly that the chairman is so focused on hiding his woman that he has given no thought to his son’s feelings—shouldn’t he have been asking Gong-shil to convey his apologies and sorrow?

Joong-won clearly identifies with the wronged son in this scenario and his words make an impact on the saddened chairman, just Gong-shil finds the photo and stares in surprise. It’s totally what I think it is, isn’t it? And so, the chairman changes his mind and asks Gong-shil to show the photo to Joong-won—he’d like Joong-won’s opinion on how he’d handle the shocking matter.

Joong-won scoffs that nothing would shock him about his own father’s taste in women, only when he sees the photo, he totally gapes. It’s him, isn’t it. IT’S HIM.

Joong-won makes the choice to call Jae-seok and order him to the villa, admitting that’s he’s there now. Jae-seok is surprised and suspicious to find the two in his father’s house and returns to his accusation that Gong-shil is the mistress. Hilariously, Joong-won cuts him off: “Get it straight! This one is mine. That one is the one your father was hiding.” He slaps a photo facedown onto the table.

Jae-seok interprets this as blackmail and informs Joong-won that he may hate his father, but he won’t stand for others scorning him. Joong-won tells him to take a look at the picture, then turns to address the chairman next to him: “Rather than trying to protect your son, it’s better to let your son protect you.” Ooof. That line is a winner.

Jae-seok flips over the photo… and recognizes his father, dressed as a woman. Gong-shil explains that the chairman had so much to protect that he had to “hide his true soul” all his life. He had taken that last photo as a ceremonial funeral picture, intending to give his soul a proper send-off. But he collapsed before he could do so, and wanted to hide it from the son who would surely be disgusted.

A short while later, Jae-seok sits regarding the photo while his father’s spirit sits across from him. Jae-seok states that he will continue to protect the things his father did, and completes the funeral for the woman in the photograph. The photo burns and with his soul at rest, his father poofs away.

Given today’s events, Joong-won is a little less hostile to the idea of seeing his father. He again wonders whether his father withheld the diamond necklace ransom as he suspects, to which Secretary Kim suggests that perhaps the chairman is hiding something to protect his son. Also, Dad was told of Joong-won’s relationship with Gong-shil—if Joong-won keeps dragging his feet, Dad might summon her instead. Ha, Secretary Kim is such a manipulator.

Just then, Jae-seok arrives in the lobby bearing a bouquet of flowers, and Secretary Kim notes that he must be here for Gong-shil: “Once a person feels Tae-yang’s warm heart, one tends to keep seeking it out.” Ahem. Prod. Hint. And the kicker: “That flower bouquet sure is big.”

Joong-won sniffs that the flowers could’ve been delivered, but Secretary Kim points out that it’s more meaningful in person, plus you can be assured that it got to the recipient. This sends Joong-won back to the trash can ghost to ask whether the necklace made it to the rightful owner. Mind you, he can’t see the ghost so he asks for a sign—if she took it, spin the trash can.

The lid starts spinning, and Joong-won smiles in relief. Then he asks if she liked it, and gets no response. He figures not, but then the lid goes ’round with extra force—she loved it. He supposes that he would’ve seen her reaction for himself if he’d given it to her personally.

Secretary Kim greets Jae-seok, who does seem interested in poaching Gong-shil away. Secretary Kim says that she is special to the president, as she is “the master’s sun.” Or, depending on how you hear it, she’s Mr. Joo’s Ms. Tae. Or maybe Mr. Joo’s sun. You get the point.

Jae-seok says that’s too bad and leaves a last message for Joong-won: “Tell him that I have a telescope too.” Bwahahaha.

Today Gong-shil hosts a tea party for four, listening to the ghosts’ tips on how to fix various problems for people. One rude ghost whooshes in frighteningly, and Gong-shil warns them all to behave, threatening to get the president—they all know what happens when she touches him. She clutches her sun necklace with a death grip.

The Mysterious Neighbor makes an appearance at Kingdom Mall, a strategic move to run into Aunt Joo, who invites her to dinner. Looks like she’s ready to play matchmaker by sending in the new girl to take Gong-shil’s place, which I assume is exactly new girl’s plan.

New Girl sees Joong-won walking by and notes, “It’s been a long while, Joo Joong-won.”

Joong-won sees his father after all, with the air is as strained as ever. Joong-won gets to the point and tells his father that Hee-joo was in on the plot. Chairman Joo states that he handed the necklace off to Hee-joo “like a fool, because I had to save you first.”

So both were both fooled by Hee-joo. Joong-won declares that he will put this whole affair behind him and almost sounds convincing, except his father isn’t so sure—Joong-won still can’t read, after all.

Chairman Joo hands over an envelope of evidence that he has collected on Hee-joo, saying that the contents may rattle him. He leaves the decision to look at it to Joong-won.

Joong-won has one last question, about whether his father purposely hasn’t told him the ransom amount to spare him hurt. Chairman Joo tells him to believe what he wants to, which is the answer Joong-won repeats to his father at the question of whether he ever doubted Dad.

Joong-won fiddles with the envelope, almost opening it before deciding against it. Secretary Kim delivers a stack of books—the wolf and goat stories, spanning multiple volumes. Joong-won is dismayed at the amount of words he’ll have to get through, but refuses assistance. He’ll read it himself.

He squints at the title, barely making out On a Stormy Night. Secretary Kim notes innocently that it’s quite the coincidence that he’d met Gong-shil on such a night.

Kang Woo informs Gong-shil that Joong-won told his father the truth about Hee-joo’s involvement in the crime. Gong-shil wishes she had some help to offer, but her encounters with Hee-joo’s ghost have left no clues about the other criminal. Kang Woo supposes that Joong-won will keep Gong-shil near until the case is closed, which has different meanings for them—for Kang Woo, that’s when he might hope for a new start, while for Gong-shil that means the end of her relationship with Joong-won.

Kang Woo returns to his post to find himself the subject of gossip—he’s made No. 1 on the internet searchwords list. Sort of. (The terms are “Tae Yi-ryung’s boyfriend” and “Tae Yi-ryung’s bodyguard.”)

Yi-ryung denies the rumors in an interview, deflecting with an admission that she is dating someone, but not Kingdom’s security chief—it’s the president. Oh we’re back to this? Aw c’mon.

Uncle VP gets a call tipping him off that the story will hit the press tomorrow, and Aunt Joo decides to use this occasion to press Joong-won for clarification on his love life. They happen to be dining with New Girl at the moment, who finds this all very interesting.

Joong-won pops up at Gong-shil’s office to remind her that she had picked a date place the other night, before they’d gotten diverted to the funeral. He’ll take her today, and orders her to wait for a moment as he heads back to his office. She takes the time to primp, and debate on whether to wear the sun necklace. Would it be too telling, like a sign that she’s hoping for more? In the end she puts it on.

Aunt is waiting in Joong-won’s office to warn him about the dating rumors with Yi-ryung. He says they’ll have to block the news, since Yi-ryung is their brand model and images must be protected.

Aunt prods, asking whether his reaction is more about Gong-shil, and he replies that Gong-shil isn’t one to be chased off by this kind of stuff. She doesn’t understand Gong-shil’s reactions, so he tells her to consider Gong-shil someone from a different world and leave things alone.

But as Joong-won heads out for his date, he sees Gong-shil standing just inside the office, having overheard the conversation. Aunt continues, not seeing her, “Does she have no pride? Does she love you that much?”

Gong-shil covers the necklace self-consciously. Joong-won answers while staring right at her, “That woman has no pride. She has a reason for not letting go of me, and no space to consider her pride. Even when I say I love her, she has no space to look after that love. So rest easy. Am I right?”

At that, Gong-shil answers quietly, “Yes.” And as always, Joong-won looks disappointed to get the answer he angled for, while hoping for its opposite.

He follows her out and holds her back, but she’s close to her breaking point and lies that the place she wanted to go was home. She excuses herself and leaves in tears, and he lets her go.

Joong-won broods in his office until he arrives at a decision, and arrives at her door shortly thereafter. He pounds insistently until she joins him on the rooftop, and asks why she cried when she had assured him she would manage their situation just fine.

Gong-shil just looks at him coolly and asks, “Who are you? Ah, are you that rude jerk Joo Joong-won? Why are you here? Does she look like such a pushover to you?”

Ah, he realizes she’s talking like someone else—is somebody else here? She accuses him of being a bastard and orders him to get lost, since Gong-shil didn’t enjoy hanging out with him. He grabs her arm and she cries, “I said get lost!”

A dead giveaway. He points out that he touched her, but “she” didn’t disappear. She covers it up with a lie (he pissed her off so much she came right back), and while he doesn’t believe her, he plays along. She adds that Gong-shil is hurting because of him and wants him to leave.

Joong-won stops her to point out that she doesn’t know how he got rid of the pianist’s wife. She snaps, “What, did you hit her?” He answers, “Watch carefully, and come back.”

Kiiiiiiiss.

COMMENTS

Swoon. A lot of great moments in this episode, starting with the dual father-son stories of misunderstanding and forgiveness. While Joong-won has more baggage to sort through with his own father than the Giant duo (as their misunderstanding was much shorter-lived), I like that he’s growing appreciably, and that he’s not too driven by old grudges to see that perhaps there’s a bigger story at play. It sure would be easier if Chairman Joo would just open his mouth and defend himself rather than leave Joong-won to draw the only conclusions that come to his mind, but as Secretary Kim notes, perhaps there are reasons for that silence. Frustrating, yes, but possible logically driven.

I love the point in stories where the hero gets over his denial and embraces his feelings, because duh. Kisses! This drama never lacked for the skinship, but I enjoy the point where Joong-won just faces the situation head-on and admits that maybe he doesn’t have reasons for wanting to be with her other than wanting to be with her. And once you accept that, well, things get a lot less frustrating.

I do understand Gong-shil’s fears and find her torn reaction—wanting to take him at his word and recalling that she’s got a self to take care of outside of this—believable and sympathetic. Especially since he’s the one contradicting himself all the time, taking a step forward (I love you) and then immediately back (don’t let this continue). It’s hilarious that he’s giving up the reins entirely to her, because he was so terrible at trying to be the control freak and now enjoys the freedom of just basking in the feelings. Let Gong-shil deal with all the complicated questions of how far to go and when to end things! And lest that sound too spineless, I think it’s important that he gives her final say—it’s her call to put an end to things.

So her confusion is reasonable… to a point, I think. Granted, the situation is much clearer to us because WE know when he’s being sincere and when he’s begging her to contradict him and say no, she does love him. She doesn’t have the benefit of our omniscience. It’s just that at a point, I think my (our) understanding of the real emotional throughlines actually confuses my understanding of the characters’ limited knowledge, so that I have to rack my brains to remember why she’s shoving him away this time instead of jumping his bones. Because please! Whose first impulse wouldn’t be to jump his bones? Especially when he’s declaring love and missing you and wanting to be with you all the time and asking you out on dates (albeit really weird ones)?

So it’s in those cases where I find that the stories sometimes follow a romantic logic that is semantic more than it is… oh, credible with the heart-feels. I have to convince my brain that this actually all works out on paper, while my heart is whining, “But whyyyyyy.” It’s like the wordy mathematic version of logic, where if A equals B and C equals D, then not-D does not equal B or C is greater than or equal to my mother. I dunno. Logic was a class I bombed utterly in college, which may or may not surprise anybody. Sadly for me.

I kind of understand her hesitation though. Knowing that she's gonna go through something that "WOULD" end at one point, I understand her reaction with JW's confession. It would sometimes be better to take it as a joke or at least not too seriously. We all know how confusing JW can be. hahaha.

anyway, the KISS. and the LINE.

Seriously. This should have been on cable. It seems like such a waste of chemistry between these two. After watching how they shot the first kiss (two hours!) and how SJS and GHJ had to just sort of stand there to hold for dramatic shots--well, you can see how it sucks away any spontaneity or passion!

Yeah, but are we sure that Joong-Won knows it's Tae-Yang he's kissing?

I would like reciprocity when he knows that Tae-Yang is actually the soul in the body he's kissing. He can do more than touch lips and hold and Tae-Yang can follow the leader or lead or they can take turns.

How much did everyone love her hands curling into his blazer? That was more swoony than the overshot kiss itself, methinks!

The only way she can get possessed is if her mental defenses are inhibited by alcohol, sleep, etc. So there isn't a way she could be in full mental capacity when a ghost left unless it stayed a reallllly long time.

Well, he definitely didn't fail in the skinship department. Master's sun has no problem with that. It's just the kiss was something left to be desired. (i know, why are sexy kisses so rare in k-dramas?)
I like this PD. He's one of my favorites because of his resume. Prosecutor Princess and City Hunter. And you've got to admit. The kisses in BOTH were hot as hell. In Prosecutor Princess it was to the point where it was like face-sucking. Not like the sloppy kiss with Rain and the vomit, though. And the one in city hunter was long and open-mouthed.
Perhaps it may have been from the way hong sister's wrote the kiss -- sweet, but not hot.

That kiss was so annoying! I did not swoon, I was mad. What is there to swoon about??? Are they teenagers or something? I thought GHJ couldn't be any less responsive than she was in Best Love, but I guess I was wrong. She's a good actress, but like Park Shin Hye just can't seem to do anything intimate without totally freezing up.

I'm constantly amazed at how little payback you get in Kdramas for the huge buildup: first there is hours worth of trials, tribulations, earnest discussions, misunderstandings, missed cues, midnight crises of confidence, and then finally the music swells, he goes determinedly in for the kill, the camera zooms in... and we get a 360-degree panorama of two faces smushed together, lips carefully closed, bodies stiff and carefully apart (it reminds me of Catholic school dances where couples are advised to keep a handsbreadth apart to 'leave room for the Holy Spirit'). And we are supposed to squee when she actually closes her eyes? Her fists are still clenched on his chest as if she were undergoing an uncomfortable medical procedure.

Sorry, but the kisses in this drama so far are an epic fail. All that skinship is turning out to be a big tease, and I'd like to see them start acting their age.

I think I am going to go back and re-watch Queen In-Hyun's Man as therapy.

EXACTLY.. And usually when the guy pulls the girl in she does the typical shocked wide open drama eyes and the n slooowly closes them while the camera shows maybe a slight shoulder squeeze here or a slight back rub there... REALLY? The way they pan it out ends up making the kiss look cheesy and boring.

And what you said about Park Shin Hye is true, which is why I am TERRIFIED that her and Lee Min Ho's kiss in The Heirs will SUCK. I've only watched three of his dramas (BBF, Personal Taste & Faith) and PT and Faith had great kisses. BBF was terrible because the actress he was paired with was terrible. I really hope The Heirs will be different.

And PD PLEASE let TGS and JW have a better kiss than that, we as the viewers deserve it!

can't agree more about the kiss!!! sorry but I didn't swoon at all!!! recently we've seen real, passionate or sweet kisses in dramas (hello?! those in "I hear your voice" or "Heartless City" ring a bell to PD nim, cos I did swoon a lot over them!!!) I know "The master's Sun" isn't the same kind of dramas but come on...those kisses with the two of them not moving and being totally unresponsive are so over!!! And I was also frustrated at Joong-won for letting her go while she's obviously in tears!! I don't know but when Gong Hyo Jin cries, I can't help but feel as sad as her heroine and I want to comfort her.
she's an amazing actress!! and forget this criticism over the kiss and Joong-won's behaviour, I love this show nonetheless!!

Their first date WOULD be at a funeral. OF COURSE. And I was rolling in delight when they were talking in the car after the funeral. Sexual innuendos galore haha.

I don't really know what to say for the episode, except that I'm happy when the OTP is happy and sad when the OTP is sad (GS crying after overhearing what JW said brooooke my heaaaart). Honestly though I'm getting frustrated by the push-and-pull of their relationship but I understand why they're doing that. At least they're handling it like adults (somewhat?) but hopefully the kiss at the end of the ep will finally have GS give into her feelings and they can work it out from there. We only have 5 more eps to go!

I also like how JW continues to be honest with his feelings and learning what it is to love: to think about the other person first, to do things you wouldn't normally do, to give without expecting anything in return. He was burned by his first love but GS is gradually healing those scars away. Hopefully he continues to let her since he's going to need it now that H-not-J is here. And GS needs to be honest now too. I know her love with ultimately overtake her need for survival so I just hope it happens sooner rather than later (no more time, gurl!). And with how much they talk about "it" ending we all know neither of them really want an ending at all.

-Re: story about the wolf and goat. I know GS said it had a sad ending but it actually had a happy ending (unless my sources are wrong). The wolf and goat, who had to overcome several obstacles, were able to live together in the end. So hopefully the same goes with our OTP.
-I'd like to think we'd get a happy ending with JW and his dad. At least that's the feeling I got from the ghost story. Maybe dad isn't a baddie after all and was only doing something to protect his son?
-Kiss shot at the end: I thought it was quite romantic especially with the church in the background. With GS wearing white and JW wearing a black suit, it looked like a wedding kiss! Swoon.

Actually, I want the wolf-goat story to have a sad ending. It's very reminiscent of the little mermaid tale used in My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, and the way Hong Sisters used that device to elevate the narrative was very beautiful and touching. I want the same to be done here in TMS, and have our characters actively defy the metaphor that is earlier used for them. I want to them to be like, "to hell with the story, we'll write our own."

Re: the kiss - YES it totally looked like a wedding kiss! I've seen too many dead-fish kisses in kdramas to find this a disappointment, because imo it was perfectly set up - Gong-shil's surprise, her eyes gradually closing, and THEIR HANDSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! I nearly swooned at the shot of his hand tightening at her back, and hers curling into his lapels - can this couple BE any sexier? Because they manage to make me swoon even with minimal lip movement, twice now.

(but please, another kiss! And soon!)

Thanks for the recap Javabeans.

Nice solid episode. No complaints at all. While a solid episode I didn’t find it as amazing and the last two Wednesday. I thought there were nice couple moments, not cute per se, but foundational moments where they [well, Tae-Yang really] tried to figure out how this relationship will play out.

Joong-Won is back with his mixes messages that sow seeds of confusion.

However I’ve decided to give him a pass because I think he thinks he clear on what he wants, but in truth I think he is confused.

There were some wonderful set pieces:

-Tae-Yang being impatient with the ghosts when she was trying to make sense of Joong-Won’s contradictory confession.

-Tae-Yang and Joong-Won conversation in the car after attending the funeral. I think the topper was “I have no intention of sleeping with you and just holding hands.”

-Tae-Yang’s afternoons hosting tea with ghosts. “Are you having tea break with your fellow ghosts?” The answer would be yes. Also we get a hint that the ghosts offer her tidbits about the human capital working in Kingdom.

-Joong-Won’s clarifying Tae-Yang’s identity to the dead chairman’s son, “Wake up! This (she) is mine”

-Tae-Yang’s creative use of a faux possession to hide out from her hideout.

-Joong-Won’s has gotten so comfortable interacting with ghosts he cannot see. He acknowledges them when he is made aware that they are the room. He speaks to them (chairman), and asks them questions (Trashcan Ghost). I found it interesting that without being able to see the ghosts, he has figured out a way to communicate with them. I think that ability to communicate with the ghost, ask questions and get answers will be used later on. [But then again I thought Sung-Bin’s weird telescopic vision would be used in I Hear Your Voice.]

The Hong sisters seem to be going with a similar script for the kisses in The Greatest Love and Master's Sun. Dokko Jin and Ae Jung had their first test kiss in ep 9, white JW and GS had their exorcism kiss. DJ and AJ also had their second car kiss in ep 11, while JW and GS had their rooftop kiss after failed dates.

If I'm not wrong, there was another kiss (to test the stupid heart monitor gizmo) at the river before she left to participate in that bachelor-parody show. That was probably in ep 7-8?

The confession for MS takes place much later than TGL's though (mostly due to the fact that the ghost-a-day stories take up OTP's time) - TGL's one was around ep. 4/5 for DKJ and 5/6 for AJ.

I watched SG first (it was the drama that brought me back from my hiatus after Star in My Heart and Sandglass), but MGIG totally changed my shining opinion of SG. I get the popular themes in dramas (time travel, ghosts), but recycling a story like that so soon seemed strange. Besides, good Hong Sisters heroes rock! Mi Ho~~~

Granted KJW was a brilliant broken hero, but SG was too makjang for me. I prefer that clean, concentrated quality of great Hong Sisters heroes. The elements that KJW and JJW share, for me JJW is starting to outshine KJW. If Master's Sun continues its ascent, I may be going Kim Joo Who?

Their love story is kinda convoluted for me, esp. at the beginning and end of each ep. It always makes me do a double-take.

JW: I think I maybe in love with you, so you handle it. You said that you only want me for a bunker, so I trust you.
So what the hell does he want from her?
He loves her because she says she doesn't? And so he confesses, and she is supposed to keep her promise, and not love him back??? Head-scratching stuff!

End of ep:
JW's convo w his aunt: TGS wouldn't be hurt by stuff like that (a scandal that involves him and YR); she has her own reason for hanging on to me. She doesn't have any self-respect.
She hears it and gets mad. He gives chase.
So, the idea is that he is forcing her to admit that she cares, she is hurt by a scandal of his involvement w sb else?

Good God, dating is hard enough w/o this kind of double-talk and double-dare!!! What a headache!

Dating is hard even among normal folks. No one wears their heart on their sleeve. So there is always some pretending and guessing.
But then, when the dating pair involves a chaebol king, who has been 'deeply hurt by the betray of his 1st love' and a ghost-seeing girl, who needs him as a bunker, the double-talk is taken to new heights.
It gives me a headache just trying to follow their logic, which isn't all that logical, I'm afraid.

I think it's not that he doesn't want her to fall for her. Surely he does (no matter how much he says he doesn't). It's just that he's scared of where their relationship might go. He's afraid of falling in love. Maybe he's still traumatized with how his first love ended. We have to keep in mind that in Joo joong won's life there isn't really much relationships involving love. Most of the relationships he has thus far usually revolve around business (his broken engagements). So to say he knows his way around relationships is a somewhat wrong. Saying things like "Don't fall for me" is kinda like his logic telling him to stay logical when in fact he himself struggle with being logical (his calculations) when it comes to TGS.

0

Required fields are marked *

Two threads were woven in, but still haven't been developed. Maybe they help partly explain why JW's behavior towards GS is a tad confused:

1. His father has a pattern of pulling him in, then pushing him away. He thinks his father doesn't like him. (JW is doing the same thing to GS and she doesn't think he likes her in a serious way.)

2. His father observed that JW's heart still hasn't healed (since he hadn't recovered his ability to read). (JW seems to think that GS will betray his heart if he gives it to her without conditions attached. Is he worried that she only wants him for the ‘shelter’ he provides?)

The part that's confusing to me: the show has implied that their relationship couldn't be anything more than a fling because they come from different places within society. But then it shows us the bimbos his father hangs out with and that his sister seems to have married-down. Based on that it doesn't seem class/status is a realistic barrier in the world the writers have created for this family. So why put in the scenes that imply it's a realistic concern?

re: 2, he thinks it's going to be temporary because he knows she was only into him for the ghost-repellent, at first - he said as much, that once she's not so scared of ghosts any more, it's up to her to end it (since he never got actual confirmation of her being in love with him, directly from her).

Basically, she thinks he fell for her because she was always feeling him up (the 'any port in a storm' thing), and he thinks that she might have feelings for him but sees him as the bomb shelter first and foremost. Also, they're adults who've had some experience of dating before (miniscule amounts, anyway) and know that feelings can change - so I guess he feels it's better to acknowledge that right away.

I don't think Joong-Won is trying to get Tae-Yang to confess. I think if she confesses, he'd think they were in deep poop.

I think Joong-Won meant it a few episode back when he said he can't deal with the idea of things NOT ending.

Joong-Won loves Tae-Yang, and wants to enjoy loving her, but for some reason, not yet fully articulated, he believes the relationship cannot/should not last. If this were a fairytale I would suspect that he is under a spell/curse.

Joong-Won is sure they must part, and now realize that he in too deep to be the one to say goodbye, so he turned the responsibility of shutting up shop to her.

By turning the burden/responsibility of doing the "right" thing about the relationship to Tae-Yang, I think Joong-Won is being unfair. He knows she loves him, yet he's making her solely responsible for breaking both their hearts.

Kim Joo-Won had a similar belief system that his relationship with Gil Ra-Im in Secret Garden should not last, but his reason for thinking the relationship had to end were more fully (and insultingly) articulated.

0

Required fields are marked *

Yay! I always like reading your comments :D

I think the fact that Joong Won consistently mentions that he does things that do not add/line up for her should be taken into consideration. In his world, he's a chaebol and he doesn't do things which do not give him some form of visible benefit. Gong Shil breaks the logic he's adhered to for his whole life (and this logic is also probably a way to prevent a Hee Joo incident from recurring). At this stage it's my guess that he doesn't want to fall in love but recognises that he has. He doesn't know what to do and I would also guess that subconsciously he doesn't want to lose Gong Shil so he lets her do the hard part of deciding where to go from here.

He's still a kid emotionally and after being scarred by Hee Joo, I don't think he thinks there is such a thing as everlasting.

Reading the recap helped me understand better, because the subs had me kind of confused. This is my interpretation--is this what others saw?

1) At the beginning of the episode, JW wants to confess his love for her to "get it off his chest." He's admitted that he likes her to her and himself, but he's still trying to control things, to take the pressure off of himself if somehow it doesn't work out with her. In fact, he wants GS to be the one to continue it and admit her feelings for him, so that he has no other choice than to go all in. But he's given her mixed signals so of course she is confused. But she likes him and he likes her, and they think, "Well, we can at least date for a while and be happy about that, but it will end, but at least we'll have fun for now." Also, he still hasn't gotten a direct admission from her that she likes him, so he's sort of waiting for her to be candid with him as she is about other things.

Similar thing happened with me and my husband when we first started dating, so I can relate to her confused feelings GS is feeling! But in the end, I did marry him, so hopefully it works out the same way for these characters!

2) The ending I found even more confusing at first, but I guess GS was hurt that JW is still stating the party line that "he loves her but she has a specific reason for sticking with me, and it's not love." Because that's not true--she likes/loves him, too, and I guess she was hoping that he would think/say otherwise/think more of her, and for him to say that she "has no pride/no dignity" hurt her, too. She was just very disappointed. She wanted maybe for him to say, "I love her, and I want her to love me back in the same way." But he's just egging her on, trying to get her to admit that she does love him, but she won't give him that answer because he's told her to not fall for him. Sigh, silly creatures. I don't think the scandal hurt her at all--it was just his response?

Geez, this couple just needs to be brutally honest with each other already instead of beating around the bush. We only have 5 more episodes to go! I want my happy and calm time before the storm, haha.

It's not that they are hard to understand. It's more that they've a strange and convoluted logic. It is not lacking in logic; only that it has a headachy logic, which is worse than no logic! ;)

Yes yes. He has PTSD, which doesn't only include his inability to read. It extends to his ability to love and trust again. He loves her, he is afraid to fall in love again. We all get that. Nothing hard there.

It is the word games that he plays with her, the mixed messages he sends. I'm sure the writers intend for them to be clever. But to me, it comes across being too deliberate, too scheming, too show-offy of their (writers') cleverness, and I end up feeling somewhat manipulated.

0

Is it also their use of idiom that makes things confusing? The subs translate them fairly literally.

0

@KAddict I'm with you on this. Especially so with the last episode. I felt very alienated by this faffing around with wordplay. It works better for the comedy, but it's frustrating when it comes to understanding where the characters are at emotionally in the story.

0

Haha! Being commitment-phobic, I understand them both very well. It's the fear of falling and falling hard that gives them pause. Once they're all in, what happens when they or, should I say if, they get burned by the other? Breakdown!!!

Yeah, the shift in their "agreement" confused me a lot, which is why I prefer to read recaps before watching. I totally agree with your explanation!

I'm re-watching Gong-shil's "possession" scene again and honestly, I'm not sure whom I'm hurting for more--HER, because she knows she likes him but won't say it to him (extra drats because she just has the BEST reason to hang around him for skinship fun); or HIM, for admitting he likes her but insisting she handle everything else and peppering her with convoluted logic.

Watching his reaction to all her hurtful words as she's "possessed" hurts my heart. Plus all those awkward-adorkable moments all episode long where he tries so hard to tell her how he feels AND find out how she feels (see: conversation with trashcan adjussi).

I have to say, I was initially pretty meh about So Ji-Sub, but in the last three episodes at least when he shows little peeks at his in-love self has had me totally melting and all marshmallowy. <3

She's been dissembling about her feelings for him, and the fake-possession scene is not the first time - even in episode 7, with the telescope, she had to use the excuse of a scary ghost to hide the fact that his proximity did funny things to her.

I find it really appropriate that she's literally using fake ghosts as an excuse to fight her feelings for her ghost-repellent.

He just needs some reassurance that the r/s will not go the distance (and therefore hurt like hell when it ends). Hence, the keeping her at a "logical" arm's length (which UNLIKE the TGS touch zone, is steadfastly diminishing. Irony) within safe parameters of how much he thinks he can emotionally deal with.

First, it was his scam marriage. Now, that didn't work.

Then, he decides to make her his secret mistress by offering her material goods, so if she accepts it, he knows she's at the very least in it for the money and not love. Now, that didn't work and pissed him off a great deal.

Now, he decides to expose his feelings anyway since he figured that she's got that whole bunker/ghost issue as a buffer to her feelings, so yay!arm's length!faux emotional comfort again! His pain is now HER responsibility!

Sigh, logic is absurd but there's logic. Even if he's wrangling it out of thin air like no tomorrow.

Well, this is my interpretation. Isn't what you feel exactly what JW feels in his mind? That feeling of confusion. He's scared of what will happen if he falls deeply in love and be the lamb. So we are witnessing his push and pull game. We don't know what's going to happen either. Honestly, are we sure if he should be open with his feelings when he's in conflict with himself? Like most of the dramas, this one is written in third omniscient point of view. We know what's going on in every characters' minds. But unlike lots of dramas we're not just a observer. Thanks to the Hong sisters great writing ability, excellent characterization and superb acting, we can feel what the characters feel. As if we also are a part of this story. That's why I believe the feeling of confusion is created to make viewers feel the characters in a better way.

@enenmon In my opinion, she was just talking aloud to herself. doubt she can see ghosts too.

I really wonder how that new girl is involved in all of this! I'm getting antsy from waiting for this line of the story to develop. Maybe she's indeed the twin sister of Cha Hee Joo or some other family relation.

Right now, I've devised 2 plausible scenarios of her involvement:

- maybe she was involved in the kidnapping and ransom incident. Back in the car-chase flashback scene, the driver of the car ran off from the car wreck right? Maybe she was the one! since Cha Hee Joo said she has to protect her accomplice(s). (but this doesn't explain why she's back following JJW around...I mean if she really was involved in the kidnapping, wouldn't it make more sense for her to lay low and enjoy the spoils (the ransom)?? It seems counter-intuitive to be following Joong Won around.)

- maybe she's out for revenge, blaming Joong Won for her sister's (Hee Joo), death.

Both your scenarios can be true. Hee Joo has a bad twin sister which planned the kidnapping but her good sister got killed in the process. In the preview of the next episode, the bad sister was holding the necklace which means she received the ransom. Now she blames JJW for her death and plans to take revenge or another despicable plan.

This was one awesome episode!!!! I could not stop smiling through the show. I think my roommate who was sitting opposite me must have wondered why I was grinning like an idiot the whole time hahahaha :D

I especially love how all the tiny details seem to come together in today's episode. For instance, how Lee Jonghyuk's character intended to give the flowers personally to Gongshil, and how that juxtaposed with Joongwon's previous denial. It kinda highlights how much Joongwon actually likes Gongshil, so much that he, in his logic, knew he had to avoid it or risk getting hurt.

Siiiggh can't wait for the next episode. Only a day away!

By the way, I heard that there won't be any Master's Sun next week due to some other broadcasting events happening concurrently. Please tell me this isn't sooooo >< I really don't want the show to end so soon, but I also don't want to wait 2 week for the new episodes T^T

In essence, JW confessed his feelings cos he can't calculate GS any other way. But tells her not to fall for him no matter how much he seduces her since she is using him for survival. So they can enjoy being together until it ends.

Mmmm...so his last line of defense is for her to let go of him when the time is right. Cos love is not in the equation cos she's busy trying to survive and using him as a bunker.

If this is his plan, JW will fall flat on his face cos he will not want it to end.

And for GS love will overtake the survival cos I believe she will need to save him from the evil twin somehow.

Another thing, it feels like JW is waiting for her reaction? He saw the necklace so does wearing it imply that she's using it as an emulet or acceptance of his love?

That's exactly my take.

To her wearing it means acceptance of his love.
To him: Wearing it means she likes his gift, and by extension of logic, him.

"And for GS love will overtake the survival cos I believe she will need to save him from the evil twin somehow."

This touches on something I completely don't understand:

Why would GS think that love and shelter are mutually exclusive things to receive from JW? He's told her that if he becomes the most important person in her world, he won't be able to break it off. So she'd get both.

One Story Night [Wolf and Goat] plotline seems a little like Romeo and Juliet, without the deaths.

If the Hong Sisters activate the metaphor, it seems the couple will be fighting to be together, while their communities are working to keep them apart.

And there is AMNESIA in Wolfie's future. I think in this version Wolfie=Sun.

Maybe TMS version of amnesia will be losing ability to see ghosts. And the trigger word will be "get out."

To be honest, I'm quite confused in the episodes that mentioned the wolf & lamb. Who's supposed to be who?

I would think GS is a lamb seeking shelter and she meets JW the wolf. and GS will be willing to sacrifice herself for JW to 'eat' (have an advantage) her.

But during the show, GS was referring herself as wolf & JW as lamb? and that JW will be crazy to offer himself to let GS 'eat'??? huh?

0

reply

Required fields are marked *

@enenmon
Since GS is using JW as a ghost-ward, he is something she uses/a power she 'eats/consumes' and therefore she is the wolf preying on the sheep. The lamb is JW because he is the tool/nourishment for GS.
Basically the parts of the story she relates is that the wolf meets a sheep and they both fall in love with each other. But the wolf has nothing to eat so the sheep offers itself up as a sacrifice. (What she doesn't mention to JW is that of course the wolf doesn't eat the sheep.) So when she says that JW would be crazy to let her eat him, she means that he would be crazy to let her use him and become close to her and then fall for her (potentially). Does that make sense? Basically she is warning him away.
As a side note, I found it interesting that GS described herself as the wolf, the one with the more power. It was a nice touch by the Hong sisters to not make her the weak one.

0

Required fields are marked *

In Tae-Yang version she in the wolf and Joong-Won is the goat.

Like the Wolf needs to use the goat for food, she needs to use Joong-Won for shelter. The wolf fell in love with the goat and almost dies of starvation. The goat seeing the wolf's dilemma, volunteers to be eaten. This has Joong-Won being outraged as the idea of him volunteering to be consumed.

Now for me the metaphor falls apart because I don't see how using Joong-Won as shelter (which doesn't kill him so is very different from consuming him) means that she can't love him.

0

Required fields are marked *

My take is that friendship/allies is something that can be indefinite. GS can use him a her shelter when she needs to for as long as she needs to but things get messier with romantic feelings involved. They both seem convinced that anything between them can only be temporary. I'm assuming for the usual chaebal/candy reasons.

JW is how she keeps her sanity and she puts a higher priority on that than love.

0
reply

Required fields are marked *

Basically, in a nutshell: Love/romantic feelings complicate things.

Both of them would prefer their r/s to be one of a business transaction or a commonplace necessity (Oxygen for breathing, food to survive, touching to ward away ghosts) because with that logic, things will go on with both of them getting what they initially seek out to get from each other without disruption.

However, when love comes to play, touching him will have different connotations - what if one day, she can't touch him because of her feelings, without feeling sad about the unspoken implications? That's where the starvation comes to play I suppose, if it's taken literally. Essentially, she will be starving for him to return her feelings, both emotionally and physically.

The all-seeing goat (JW) knows that she needs him as a bunker > wants his love, so chances of her being wary about falling for him is relatively high - that's him calculating the situation (and being pretty selfish, but I understand why he's like that). He's only giving his 100% because he knows she can't - his only "protection" now after called-off wedding is sadly, the object of his desire.

He is all now like, okay, you take responsibility for my feelings - I don't wanna handle the consequences. You decide what to do with mine BECAUSE you can never properly consume me anyway. Silly, really.

Required fields are marked *

*Essentially, she will be starving for him to return her feelings, both emotionally and physically. At the same time, she needs him to survive so major Catch-22 for her there.

OK, it now looks like Cha Hee Joo has a sister, and she is not a nice girl when she makes her appearance here.

However, all those years ago, she'd be too young to have planned that kidnapping. So if HJ wasn't put up to it by her sister, nor by JW's father, then WHO?

0

reply

Required fields are marked *

U know it's ironic how the 'ghost-per-episode' will poof away having rest in peace as GS helped them fulfill their requests? But HJ's ghost is STILL around after so many years.... what is it that stops her from 'resting in peace'? lol

0
1
reply

Required fields are marked *

The other ghosts get to rest in peace after they get TGS to help them finish their unfinished business.

HJ doesn't have that becos her unfinished business w JW involves sb she wants to protect, so she can't out it to TGS.

Looks like her unfinished business is her sister, hence HJ is riding the elevator w her, and hanging on beside her instead of JW, now that she has shown up!

0

Required fields are marked *

I think its JW's mom, seeing the body frame of the kidnaper who got out of the car and abbandoned HJ. Cause why would a stranger wants a certain necklace? Tons of ransom money can replace that. With so many affairs done by her husband..who wouldnt want a revenge? And the Hee Not-Joo is just a pissed off sister of the dead girl. But thats just me. Anyway its heartwarming to hear him saying "Come back" rather that his usual "Get lost!" at her.

Joong-won has been exhibiting classic signs of intimacy/attachment issues and even after his sincere confession of love, I can completely understand why Gong-shil would treat him with skepticism at this point.

Her inner conflict mirrors the push-and-pull she's experienced up until now, and even Joong-won's love confession involved him still maintaining his emotional barriers which only serve to confuse her even further.

While we, the viewers, have the omniscient point-of-view, Gong-shil unfortunately does not.

Well, I'd say he does show concern for her safety and general well-being, even if it isn't his first instinct and it takes him awhile to act upon it. But he does get there.

It's just that he hasn't shown any concern about what her real fears are as person (e.g. the whole Candy issue) and how she would feel being put in the position he's now put her in. She's very much just his object of desire, as someone said earlier, at the moment.

It's still all about him, and how he's going to enjoy himself, as he plainly says in this episode.

It was interesting but I felt as if Kang-Woo was working the second FEMALE lead traditional role in this episode by subtly undermining Tae-Yang's confidence in her relationship with Joong-Won. I appreciated her saying the pain of the relationship was hers to deal with. Or in the vernacular--back off.

I have to say I don't really like this episode. The OTP's dynamic is so confusing. I'm sure both side already knew each other's feeling. But what with the push and pull? Why didn't Joogun ask her to love her back as a normal person? And why did he insult her in front of his aunt like that? In his mind, he's not insulting GS. He's just stating the truth about GS (without emotions that are involved).

If you too think without involving the emotions, you would also agree that GS won't or shouldn't let things like scandals to matter to her coz she couldn't afford to. She won't leave JW even he's married. She needs him, a little room to breathe. When/if she doesn't need him then she can leave/end things with JW.

But bcoz of her emotions, she was hurt by his words. Bcoz she loves him, his words stings like hell.

In my opinion, her reaction is a bit overrated. She knew it, she should learn how to handle things, JW already told her that.

Hi Javabean,

I'm a rare drama watcher... I've watched maybe a total of 30 complete drama series (including Taiwanese, Japanese, and Korean) in the past 5 years. It's honestly the first time in my life I've rewinded and replayed each episode of a series 5 times (not joking lol)... (Even with Secret Garden, another fave, I watched it only twice.)

That said, because of all the puns and jokes in this series, as a native English speaker, I've had a hard time understanding a lot of the dialogue because I just _didn't get it_. "What are the subbers trying to convey? Viki says this and DramaFever says this and I still don't quite get it? What is CEO Joo really saying here????" etc lol

Somehow, I found your site! And I read the recaps of episodes 8-10 and now 11 and I can tell you that your recaps are amaaaaaaaazing. After watching the episodes, your recaps read as if I was watching the episode itself. It was great. I understood all the little things, and made all the connections, thanks to you. Just as an example, in today's episode how JW is sitting on the bench next to the trash can guy and saying "I could've seen her reaction if I had given it to her in person"... Well, until your recap, I totally didn't link it with the flowers scene... Why? They're right after one another and I still didn't get it :S :S I'm not that slow haha. But I guess catching up with the subs and making sense of all the puns and little nuances really takes away from the overall experience for a non-Korean like me. So reading your recap has been so helpful. I really appreciate the depth and detail that you give each scene and how you really give a TRUE recap. Oh, and the pun about sensuality vs sixth sense. Didn't get that one before either...

Sorry for the rambling, but this post is my sincere appreciation. Also, this post was not meant to knock the subbers of any site in any way haha. I know the amount of work that goes into this thing and it ain't easy, that's for sure. So to all of you, thank you very much!

I liked the episode except for Yi Ryeong's interference; she's just doing that because she can't have Kang Woo so she is trying to create problems for our main couple. If people believe that she is dating Joong Won and then he ends up with Gong Shil, people will think GS stole him. Ugh. And his aunt was annoying me as well. And stop with the mystery. WHO IS THAT WOMAN?! Hee Joo's twin, friend, accomplice, WHAT?!

Factors that set my mind in gear:

I was a little confused why Tae-Yang seemed hurt by the first part of the conversation between Joong-Won and his Aunt. Where Joong-Won said the Tae-Yang won’t leave him over dating scandal or being humiliated about class status. I got why the "no self-esteem" part hurt, but not the part before.

I am curious about the idea of “safe” and “protect” that Joong-Won always go back to. As first I thought it was about his heart. Now I wonder if it is about both his and Joong-Won’s physical safety. Does he feel that dating him is like dating a super-hero, his lover become vulnerable to his enemies’ plots?

Both Joong-Won and his aunt talk about holding on and letting go. The letting go is niggling at me. Why is there an assumption of limited time and of letting go? Is the letting go that everyone assumes must happen related to Joong-Won needing to start a family with someone more socially appropriate?

I feel as if there may an important piece of information that the audience isn't privy to as yet. In another drama I would assume that he had an undisclosed drama-related illness that can't be found any medical text took and whose symptoms somehow manages to always ramp up the angst just before the credits roll.

I can’t tell if my lack of understanding about the Joong-Won powered push-pull is due to an inability to understand the language or my lack of understanding about the culture.

Second gender confusion episode.
1- Faux-gay: thought the milk girl was a milk boy. K-dramas like to play with the Faux-gay
2- Transvestitism: I’m not sure how much, if any, time with Photoshop it took, but the actor made a lovely transvestite, very credible female.

I really appreciated that today’s ghost story ended in a father-son reconciliation. And that Joong-Won came to an understanding with his own father.

Interesting information to consider as regarding things discovered/revealed today andthe greater story.
- Joong-Won finding a way to communicate with Trashcan ghost
- The coffee-klatch of ghost feeding Tae-Yang info
- The statute of limitation on the kidnapping is almost up. [Not sure why Sister-Mastermind would return before the SofL is up and risk being caught and punished, especially after waiting so many years already]
- It seems as if the story is about to delve into Tae-Yang’s accident. Looking forward to seeing the dots connect.

IF the info I got from watching TEN2 is right, the SofL is extended for the duration that the culprit is overseas. Therefore the SofL is not up for the sister.

So could it be that she wants to protect herself by marrying Joong-won so that he won't give her up for prosecution since he's the only one who can identify Hee-Joo as an accomplice?

But that's not her though. So as long as she stays out of Korea, it should be fine, no? Unless we discover evidence that points to her involvement.

I know there are speculations about how this connects to Tae-yang's accident. Can someone enlighten me please? Tae-yang's accident was 7 yrs ago. Joong-won apparently returned to Korea 5 yrs ago. How could it be connected?

I hadn't heard the info on Tae-Yang's accident before today. 3 years in the hospital after the accident.

Was she in a coma? Because in k-dramas extended coma's result in abilty to communicate with souls. [See Who Are You?]

Ack! I replied and it didn't appear.

I wanted to say that if the info I got from watching TEN2 is correct, then the SofL is extended for as long as the person being prosecuted is not in South Korea. So this sister has been overseas and thus the SofL is extended, she can still be prosecuted.

So, maybe the sister's reason for getting close to Joong-won is that he might come to love her and so won't give her up for prosecution since he is the only one who can identify Hee Joo as an accomplice. But that in no way is evidence that ties the sister to the case. Isn't it safer just to stay away?

Javabeans, thank you so much for your recap and explanation of things. Some things definitely get lost in translation--especially the end when Gong Sil was upset and crying. I wasn't quite sure why she was so upset until your interpretation made it clearer, but now that it is it puts the relationship and confused emotions in a much more understandable place.

As much as I ship these two characters, the kisses and hugs seem to be the least romantic of the interactions because the direction is so staged. I know this is sort of the way with broadcast Kdrama kisses (dead fish kisses with lots of open eyes and a million unnecessary angles and cuts) but it kills the kisses for me. Instead, because these two actors have such amazing chemistry, it's the hand holding and the banter and little smiles, and eye twinkling that really gets me.

It doesn't help either that I'm watching some of the behind the scene clips and interviews, where much if this chemistry is on screen, too. In fact, ack, I'm starting to real life ship So Ji Sub and Gong Hyo Jin. Someone help me!

It's the non-lip contact part of the kisses that makes them so swoony for me with these two - in the first kiss, it was her falling into his arms and the expression on his face as he pulled away from her (and the HANDS, omg).

Here, it's the full-body contact+BOTH their hands that did it for me. Even the awkward cut-away to a very obviously not-moving shot of them can't quite kill that kiss for me, especially after Gong-shil closes her eyes. That, plus the angle of the kiss shows off SJS's jawline beautifully - swoonage guaranteed :)

Oh, and I spy just a smidgen of lip movement from Gong-shil at the end. Just a smidgen, and maybe GHJ was just trying to breathe, but it's there.

Thanks a ton Javabeans! What would I do if not for your recap that helped to put a lot in perspective. I thought maybe some things got lost in translation in the subtitles, but it also seems like some things got lost in the direction. I also agree with you about how some of the scenes feel semantic and not quite romantic. My head says--this should be romantic, but my heart doesn’t feel it. And that’s not where I want to be as an audience.

Woah. That first scene--I’m totally lost. These two make One Truly-Weird Couple. The way they are discussing matters of love as if they’re a middle aged couple discussing what to do about their misbehaving child. It was like a business transaction--with an agenda to sort these awkward feelings--rather than something romantic and heartwarming. I feel slightly disoriented. This episode didn’t feel as good as the last ones. And LJH’s presence could certainly have been used to spice things up quite a bit. But alas. Why couldn’t Giant have been just as petty as Joong-won?

Joong-won was a revelation this week. With each passing week, SJS has managed to build a unique personality around his character. This week saw him being so utterly transparent at every moment, from his first declaration to how he wants to have fun with her, what he will feel if he’s asked to sleep with her, etc, etc. Even the inconsistent signals he gives to Gong-shil seem to come from an earnest place. He is clearly confused. It was such a pleasure to see him be so honest. I didn’t think--considering his previous hard-shelled, smug personality--that he would. But he’s so soft and humble about expressing his love and his motivations. And he smiles. God he smiles more, and each smile adds to the characterisation. The smiles are priceless. And I hope we get to see more of them in the future.

That way, Joong-won at this moment owns the entire show. Gong-shil is cute, but I’m a bit fuzzy about where her character is meant to go. I think it makes us like a character more if we see that they experience some kind of growth along the way, but I can’t pinpoint whether that is happening in the case of Gong-shil.

Also, why the slow-motion swirling EVERYTIME the two hug? The music suddenly changes and the scene tries to be too hard to be hard-core romantic. They hug all the time, and we’re really quite used to that. I think the camera ought to get used to that, and..take it easy.

Other than that, I’m sorry about the way the extended cast continues to be portrayed in this drama. Everyone is two dimensional and whenever they are onscreen, it only serves the purpose of annoying the viewer because they are taking up the time that would otherwise have been focused on the OTP. Is this supposed to work in heightening our yearning for the two main characters? I don’t know, but I would always prefer a show that tries to flesh out its minor characters as well. The motivations of these characters are flimsy and unclear. And they really serve no important purpose. Such a waste of a lot of very talented actors. I want to push myself over a cliff for the way they Kang Woo is turning out to be, because, he isn’t bad, he isn’t good. He’s just blah. Just so forgettable. So sad.

Except Secretary Kim. Who rocks my socks off. See? Hong sisters, if you can do it with him, you sure can do it with other characters too.

SJS's doing a fantastic job as Joong-won, it took him 4 episodes to really find it but he did find it, and how!

I think what makes Joong-won so great is a combination of writing and acting - you have this classic cold chaebol prince for a hero, but have him act like a little boy. Sure, he looks like SJS and is an acknowledged hottie within the dramaverse, but he still has to dress like he was dressed by a colourblind coordi fangirl of High Hefner (not that I am complaining about the shirts unbuttoned down to there, at all). And what really makes it work is that So Ji-sub runs with the tone of the show - he's swoony all right, but doesn't mind being made to look like a bit of an ass with purposely-terrible coordi, to keep with the 'comedy' part of things. And it is fantastic.

I do think Taeyang has a trajectory, which is moving from near-complete isolation thanks to her ability, to more 'normal' life - she gets to actually experience a life thanks to Joong-won's ghost-repelling ability. I mean, ten episodes ago she had zero shame about anything Joong-won said to her, but now she's close enough to the non-ghost world around her to actually be hurt by gossip or by his words.

Also, re: character trajectories, Gong-shil's might seem less dramatic but when you think of it, they've both drawn each other back into the world of the living, by degrees - she was blocked off from it by the ghosts, he was blocked off by his past trauma - and they're both changing.

I'm all meh about the supporting characters apart from the uncle (who is hilarious) and Secretary Kim (who is awesome). Yi-ryung was funny until her recent turn for Classic Bitchy Hong Sisters Second Lead.

Required fields are marked *

Yes Pogo, when you put it that way, I guess her trajectory is to slowly get out of the world of the dead and into the world of the living. But she's really good in that existing world. Of course, it scares her being in a world full of ghosts, but she's been able to make ghosts less of a fearful idea because she's the only one who looks into the reasons why they exist and tries to help them out. In that way, she's got a pretty good relationship going on with the ghosts, and it gives her quite a solid purpose. Which I like already. I'm actually not so comfortable with the idea that she will eventually stop communicating with ghosts and being a part of their world. Cause she's a powerful catalyst in helping them let go.

So I still don't find the way she's changing, and what she's changing into very convincing. Unless, in future episodes we get into the whys of her accident. Maybe there's something dark in there that will bring her on an equal footing with Joong-won. At the moment, however, she's still a low stakes character.

Required fields are marked *

I didn't mean that she was going to stop seeing ghosts - it's just that with the breathing space Joong-won gives her, she's able to engage more with 'normal' life AND deal with her abilities a bit better.

Like she herself said, they don't terrify her as much as they used to - earlier she might have wished to stop seeing them, but like we've seen repeatedly, even when Joong-won gives her the chance to pass up helping by simply making the ghosts poof, she'll go out of her way to help them. And that is a change from earlier, when all she wanted was to not see them.

I thought there will be a true confession at the end of episode 10, but then to find out that they are still in the same place they left off. I mean JJW confessed, but instead of I like you and want to be with you, it became I like you so stay away from me like you said you could. I was like huh?? you are honest about your feeling, but not what you want. Though, I am glad that the end of the episode, JJW finally come up with a solid decision, hopefully thats what it is if thats what the kiss mean, which we'll find out soon.
I really like the ghost story, of every episode. This one come out kind of shocking to me, but it works smoothly with JJW's plot with his dad, so I buy it.

love love love!!!! MS's episodes always gave me both happiness and a little pain, i love to see JW and TY together but it hurts me so much when they misunderstood each other... JW is becoming one of my faves characters ever, even in all sjs's characters and that's saying a lot: because my heart goes to his Cha Mu Hyuk, i looooove his Park Cheol Woon, adore his Cheol Min and his Kang In Chul (misa, glass slippers, always and TYOL) not to mention Lee Cho In Lee Jang Woo (C&A and Road N1) i can't talk about Kang In Wook because i might go crazy. Oh and his double role in Ghost!!!! love them both
so yes i'm a SJS's fan, i always fall in love with his character he played but this must be a favorite... it helps that i don't dislike the heroine... instead i love the heroine :)

I don't know why but I think that maybe this is the last of the "push and pull" between JW and GS. Like him kissing her was symbolic to how he now goes all out with his feelings and that from here on now he has decided to embrace his fear and just live with it. It was like seeing GS being hurt from their current arrangement kicked some sense into him. I hope my interpretation is right. Cause we can't keep going back and forth forever right? I mean there's only 2 weeks left. Is it so wrong to ask for one whole fluffy lovey dovey episode before this series ends?? It doesn't matter if it doesn't make any sense. With 1 hour of skinship, what's not to like?

I love the part when JW is all miffed in the car after the funeral and asks GS in half shock and half surprise "Who's side are you on?!" Such lose on his usual dignified mien. And I get to stick out my tongue at the screen and say, "It's YOUR fault for telling her not to like you!" :P

I may be analyzing this too much, but I felt like that it was subversion ( or at least a poking fun of) when the Giant Mall's CEO's cell phone rung JUST when he was trying the last couple keys to the room. This kind of thing-a coincidence like a phone call that HAPPENS to happen JUST when the character was going to do something critical- used ALL the time in dramas to make big plot twists. But this time, it's a bit of joke because it was JW who made the call, so the call is not just a coincidence. It's deliberate.

And anyone catch that the scene when GS walks out of the mall crying after leaving JW with his aunt at his office is shot similarly to the scene when GS and JW walked out of the mall together holding hands after JW came back from his business trip to China? I think it was a very powerful parallel/ comparison of the two scenes, emphasizing how ALONE GS was/felt when she walked out crying.

Thanks for the recap Javabeans.

After episode 10 I wrote that I don’t know what Gong Shil wants from Joong Won and vice versa. I thought this may be due to their own confusion of not exactly knowing what they want from each other. Episode 11 confirmed my hunch. Joong Won loves her, misses her, worries about her but doesn’t want a real relationship with her? He is telling her he loves her, will allow her whatever bodily contact she wants but it is her responsibility not to want more from him and protect him. Of course this baffles poor Gong Shil. And even though she says she can do it, and tries to do so not to lose her shelter in her heart of hearts she knows she already fell for him. She is just trying not to show it to him. That’s why she is not wearing the necklace. They both take what each other gives but they are both sad that the other won’t give more. For example, wouldn’t Tae Yang immediately put on the necklace if he gave it personally to her?

I love how easily Secretary Kim can manipulate Joong Won to get him to do what he wants. There were two memorable scenes. First when Giant Mall’s President intercepted Gong Shil because of the scent of her perfume Secretary Kim’s talk of how sun would console him after his father’s death in his summer house they would no doubt go together (Joong Won and Kang Woo’s stares were priceless). Lucky for Joong Won an equally jealous Kang Woo reminded him that it was his job to go with her so he took one for the team and sacrificed himself...

Obviously in some respects Joong Won and his father are very much alike. They are both very stubborn and keep expecting the other to make a move. Secretary Kim once again pulled his not-so-secret weapon Gong Shil to get Joong Won to visit his father. Also the parallels between this episode’s ghost story and Joong Won and his father’s relationship were enlightening. He kept drawing parallels between the two fathers and though he claimed he was desensitized because he was used to it since his childhood every word that came out of his mouth was bitter. His whole lecture to the other president about thinking of himself more than his son was doublespeak directed at his own father. I do sense his father actually loves him and expect a reconciliation coming up. I liked their one scene together where there was perfect understanding on both sides and affection on the side of the father as well.

I love it that through falling in love with Gong Shil and all the changes this brings Joong Won is still staying true to himself in essence. His love confession is so him, so is taking Gong Shil to a wake as their first date and talking about the event as if it’s the high society’s big event of the year. He still drags his feet first if there’s no profit for him before helping Gong Shil with her ghosts. And after calling Giant Mall’s president to renegotiate when they are stuck in the room banging his head on the wall for all the money he lost... He just cracks me up.

I do love seeing Joong Won interact with ghosts he cannot see. With the ghost dog he wasn’t interacting with the ghost itself, but faced in a stressful situation he was just imitating Gong Shil. But we saw his trust and faith in her last week when he truly started to talk with the ghosts he cannot see. First shooing away the coffee ghost to get her to sleep comfortably, then entrusting the necklace to the trashbin ghost. After Secretary Kim’s comments on how if you give a gift personally you would be sure it’s delivered he runs to the trashbin ghost to confirm. I love the way he sits down and talks to this thing he cannot see. Earlier in the episode he had acknowledged the Giant Mall’s deceased president’s ghost as well. I was also wondering whether Secretary Kim knew about the necklace. This comment made me sure he does. He did not see Joong Won buy it but he saw him leaving it for Gong Shil. So his pointed remarks cannot have been made accidentally.

I also love it they are are curing Joong Won’s reading problem not through Tae Yang’s physical touch but her emotional one. He had said his reading problem was from the heart. He is now trying to read and he is doing this for their relationship so he wants to do it on his own. He won’t get the easy way out by watching the movie. He wants to see the sad ending she talked about so that he may change it.

It was a funny, romantic but also a sad episode. What Gong Shil thinks her place is in Joong Won’s life makes her feel sad. Joong Won is bitter about his father’s life and their relationship. It was sad to watch Joong Won who is so starved for love what with his dad chasing his mistresses around the world and his first love torturing him with her loving him for his money, not loving him as much as he loves her (no wonder he fell for sunny, compassionate, open Gong Shil who will give her all to anyone) deprive himself of the joy he could have with Gong Shil. He would not give him the necklace himself. But not being able to see how happy this would make her makes him sad. The image of him sitting on that bench sad and alone made me so sad for him I wanted to give him a hug. He also didn’t sound very happy that the wolf and the goat had to go to their own homes after hanging out with her. He wants her with him.

On Gong Shil’s side, she is carrying the heavy burden of ending their relationship when the time comes and in spite of all her promises to Joong Won that she can handle it her words to Kang Woo show that she is well aware that her heart will break. The scene the aunt’s comments started was heartbreaking for both of them. Joong Won was sad that she couldn’t forget about her troubles and hold onto his love. His words facing Gong Shil was what she had told him many times before. The way he couldn’t separate Hee Joo’s love for him from her love of his money maybe he cannot separate Gong Shil’s need of protection from ghosts from her other feelings for him. So this is hurting him, too. But he saw her hurt and her hurt hurt him even more. His aunt also saw how much Gong Shil meant to him. And afterwards her not only bailing out of their date but also crying bothered him so much he followed her home. This relationship is being redefined over and over again until they both honestly accept it for hat it is.

i agree that there's something very touching about the way joong-won interacts with ghosts. he seems to have developed an ability to communicate better, and more intimately, with ghosts he cant see than with humans he interacts with on a daily basis, gong-shil aside. they really bring out the goodness in him, and also his vulnerabilities.

Loved reading your comment. Totally agree with everything you've said here... Joong Won talking to ghosts and actually believing is suuuuper powerful for me in these past couple of episodes. Funnier even is how he's not at all shocked or scared when the ghost responds back. His faith is strong lol. Also enjoyed reading the part where you mentioned Joong Won seeing a pattern in love with Gong Shil... that he can't separate "need for protection from ghosts from her other feelings"... that was very insightful.

Set aside shocked or scared he would be truly disappointed if he didn't get a response from the trashbin ghost. Not only was he desperate to know that she picked up his gift but he believes her so unconditionally.

I think Joong Won has a very deep need to be loved more or at least as much as he loves this time around. And Gong Shil throwing caution to the wind and saying I love you so much I can't be bothered worrying about what will happen to my shelter if it all goes pear shaped might be the proof he needs. I am not sure he is conscious of this though (meaning he is not trying to manipulate her intentionally). It's just his innermost desires push him subconsciously.

Totally agree with you about not being able to separate her needing him (protection against ghosts) from her loving him, as well as being useful to him (to catch Hee Joo's accomplice and get his money back).

When she tells people that JJW is her "one and only" and that he's her "special person", it really is a double-edged sword.

Also love that he and his dad tell each other to "believe what you want", but JJW had very little difficulty believing Gong-shil's crazy ghost friends! His complete faith in her is touching, and I think she fell for him because of it.

"Thank goodness the new ep finally rolled around so we can all stop rewinding the end of the last one, yes?"

OMG EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE BEEN DOING ALL THIS WHILE AND IT WAS FRIGGIN UNHEALTHY!! -hides-

Anyway, good Lord I love this episode, and the last one, and the last-last one, simply put I love the whole series up to this point. This is the best drama pairing ever that I can't help rooting for them to last until the end. Their explosive chemistry, now we are down to another 5 episodes, I'm hoping that they will reunite again in another drama. Please make it happen!! GAAHHH!!

I love that the fact all of those hurtful remarks JW has thrown at GS was his ass backward attempts at getting her to confess her feelings, that she actually got hurt by all of those careless remarks and to get her to admit that she loves him too. It began few episodes back and although I want to scream at JW's face to just be straight with it and stop those awful reverse psychology tactic on GS coz that girl always took everything at face value.

AND THE KISS!!! OMG!! AND SHE IS AWAKE AND AWARE!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! -makes some embarrassingly inhumane squeaking voice all over the place-

And Kingdom sajangnim, I have a question for you. Is your telescope golden in color as well? -snorts-

And I kinda guessed that the late Kingdom's chairman doesn't have any mistress, and thinking this guy might be into some weird hobby once I saw him in that silky black cloak and when he was looking rather longingly at the black dress with fur neckline which I would only think the possessed Yi-Ryung would wear. Thank God the son decided to protect his dad and not resent him because of that :)

So. Amnesia in One Stormy Night.

That is all.

(I haven't been able to watch Ep 11 yet and I debated internally for hours whether or not to read this recap beforehand because it might ruin the surprise. But this is one of the only dramas where I still feel like watching it after reading about it. Thank you!)

OT but: I wish one day, the Hong Sisters would write up a skit involving all their lead characters having to interact and all the actors would come back to reprise their roles. It'd be such an ego contest for the guys omg.

Kekeke. Imagine tae gong shil talking to miho and joong won and dokko just interacting. I hope that happens too. But i don't think they can afford to do that type of drama :((
