Im Soo-jung takes on psychological thriller, Kim Min-hee takes on Crying Man

Im Soo-jung (All About My Wife) is lining up her next film project, after dropping out of the Jang Dong-gun vehicle Crying Man. Boo. She’s headlining a thriller called Secret Temptation set to start filming later this year. Meanwhile a bit of leading actress reshuffling has landed Kim Min-hee (Temperature of Love) in Crying Man. Well I love them both, so I suppose I’m not that heartbroken about the swap.

Im Soo-jung’s new project Secret Temptation (though in Korean that’s also the title for Indecent Proposal, so that might change) is said to be a remake of a 1960 Hollywood film starring Sean Connery, except there’s no such title in his filmography that I can see. Anyway, Im Soo-jung plays a woman who falls in love with a man… who makes her marry someone else. Huh, this sounds more like Indecent Proposal if you ask me.

She eventually ends up ruined for it, and the film will depict her internal struggle and psychological breakdown while exploring love, coercion, conspiracy, and betrayal. Directing is Yoon Jae-kyu, who directed the thriller Secret and wrote the script for Seven Days. Once it finalizes casting, it plans to start shooting this year for a 2014 release.

Meanwhile Kim Min-hee is set to be Jang Dong-gun’s new leading lady in Crying Man, the new project from Ajusshi director Lee Jung-bum. He plays a killer and she’s his target, only instead of doing his hitman job, he falls in love with her. Action and doomed romance ensue. This one’s heading into production now, also for a release next year.

I've started to watch Love Marriage yesterday and I just discovered Kim Min Hee. I like her in that so I'm happy to see her on a new project. Jang Dong Gun as her killer/admirer... What should I wish to her character? Amnesia maybe.

I love old movies, kinda a fanatic about them. Sean Connery's Woman of Straw was kinda like that, he conned her into marry his sick uncle so he could get revenge. But I remember the movie focusing more on the revenge than the female lead. Either way this looks super interesting.

Love Kim Min-hee! Just recently watched Temperature of Love with her and Lee Min-ki. They're great together, acting was very natural and the chemistry was adorable.

I've seen Im Soo-jung in Finding Mr. Destiny with Gong Yoo (which was cute, but not memorable) and Come Rain, Come Shine with Hyun Bin (which was so indie, but interesting). Planning to watch All About My Wife soon.

Looking forward to Crying Man!

Should check out ISJ in "...ing" - which has a great portrayal of a mother-daughter relationship (mother played by Lee Mi-sook) and the ensemble film "Sad Movie."

I was looking forward to ISJ + JDG from a visual standpoint but I've got no beef with Kim Min Hee either.

ahahaha, Love this comment for some strange reason.
It's like people sometimes think by saying you liked one pairing you don't like the other.
'got no beef with Kim Min Hee either' is a super awesome and concise way to describe your non hate feelings - I think I might use that next time such an occasion arises ;)

I find Jang Dong Gun handsome but he's so one note as an actor. He kind of reminds me of George Clooney actually. Very charming but gives the same performances all the time.

let me guess... laundry warrior part 2, the target reminded him of his wife...

im so jung in some point look like cr while kim min hee in some point look like mrs. jang

so it's better to choose kmh... make the bedroom in peace

So agree about JDG = George Clooney. They both have the same conventional sort of good looks, the same smirky superiority, the same sort of cool distance between them and any real vulnerability/range as actors. As you can probably tell, I don't like either one of them.

JDG isn't as good-looking as Clooney or Korean actors like Kim Sung-soo, Oh Ji-ho or Song Seung-heon.

Can't comment on JDG's acting.

I'm pretty sure the Sean Connery movie in question was not 'Darby O'Gill and the Little People,' which was about Leprachauns, or 'Tarzan's Greatest Adventure,' so my knowledge of early Connery is useless in this discussion.

Can I just say I will never stop being impressed by how KMH turned her career around? I mean this girl used to be infamous for being a bad actress. Now if only Kim Tae Hee and Han Ga In could take pointers..

KTH gave a pretty smashing performance in "My Princess" - don't know how she has done since then.
