Reminder: Meetup in Koreatown, KCON

Just a reminder to you all who’ll be in the LA area this weekend: If you’re going to KCON 2013, drop by the “World of K-Drama” panel on Saturday, August 24, where we’ll be chatting with actor Sean Richard Dulake (Athena, Jejoongwon) and director Kim Won Suk (Monstar, Sungkyunkwan Scandal).
The panel will be at 11 am in Tent 1. We plan to be around all day so if you can’t make the panel but want to chat, flag us down (or tweet us)!
As mentioned, we’ll also be hanging out in Koreatown on Friday evening for a somewhat impromptu (code word for last-minute, unorganized) meetup. So drop by the Koreatown Plaza on Friday, August 23, from 6-8 pm, and chat with us and other fellow drama-lovers.
Come find us at the food court area on the first floor, and if it suits your fancy, you can also stock up on your ramyun supply at the Plaza Market or pick up some CDs at the music store. The Koreatown Plaza is located at 928 South Western Avenue and has its own parking garage.

My thoughts exactly, I wish I could be there! Unfortunately LA is across the globe from where I live, haha...
Hope everyone has fun at KCON, and remember not to overwhelm the DB team and your idols. Stay a reasonable distance away, don't suffocate them... :p

Even though I can't make it, I'd really like to know what the director Kim Won Suk thinks of this epidemic of "me too" plots and how some dramas have managed to branch out and find fresh angles on plots.
I was also intrigued by the decision to let Yong Jun Hyung (Seol Chan) let his tattoos be shown (he's playing a high school kid, after all, even if Seol Chan is an idol) when that's such a 'verboten' thing elsewhere.
And while I'm on a roll, I'd also like to know how he chooses his projects; what are the characteristics in a premise (they never get a complete script) that motivate him? How much input does he typically have into the story itself?
Of course, what I'd really like would be the opportunity to interview him myself when I'm in Seoul next month!

I wish I could go :-( If this had been announced 2-3 months ago, I would have even bought a plane ticket to go (I'm on Florida).
In the future, could you please let us beanies know with enough time so that we could come out and support?

Koreatown Plaza! Great! You can get a coffee at Nicole's and your stationery fix at Art Box. And stop at the bakery (can't remember the name. It was had just opened when I was last there) for some deelish Korean baked goods....Good merchants at Koreatown Plaza.
Later, if things begin to heat up and you're looking for a fun sul jip try Toebangs in the Chapman Market on 6th and Alexandria. They have valet parking or a lot across the street. It looks like a village sul jip and offers typical sul jib fare. There is also a noraebang in the market area....

Bitter tears are what I'll be shedding this weekend!
