I Hear Your Voice in talks for extension
by girlfriday
Gah, you know when you SAY that you love something so much that you could watch it for a thousand episodes? I don’t really MEAN it, Show! It’s no surprise that SBS is trying to finagle an extension out of its new hit Wednesday-Thursday drama I Hear Your Voice — it’s cracktastic, and well made, and nearing the 20% mark in ratings (last Thursday’s Episode 10 brought in 19.7%).
The network is reportedly in talks with producers about a 2-episode extension, which would bring the total count to 18. Among the bigger factors are the scripts and the actors’ schedules, especially with Lee Jong-seok due back on the set of The Face Reader soon after the drama wraps.
The production has also been plagued with spoiler leaks online, and though the writer has said that she’s sticking to her story, this may open up a chance to throw the audience a curveball. Just yunno, let’s keep it this side of sane, yeah? I’m all for smiting the spoiler purveyors (Down with all spoilers!) but let’s not sacrifice the story in the name of vengeance. I feel like I’m back to talking Su-ha off that murderous ledge: Don’t hurt yourself trying to stop the crazy!
I rarely meet an extension I like, so I’m wary of anything that’ll drag the pace of the story down, and doubly so when it’s chugging along at breakneck speed like it is in Voice. On the bright side, it’s early enough that if they decide to extend, a reasonable 2-episode arc could be added, and at the end of the day, more of this drama’s cuteness wouldn’t really be so bad (…I say with all fingers and toes crossed).
If the extension goes through, that’ll push the Hong sisters’ Master’s Sun another week, till early August.

NO!! Don't. Do. It!!! I hate it when writers have to add last minute extensions filled with unnecessary plots...grrr.

If they use it to send the prosecutor's father to jail, could probably deal with that.
