I'm sorry to say I just can't watch this train wreck any longer. It was billed as a rom com and it's just far too makjang for me to enjoy anymore -_-

I'm still waiting for Ep 30 with subs so I still have to wait for the couple moments...

Can't we just shoot Mi Ryung (SO delusional), Chicken Ajumma, Yi Jung and all the other really annoying caracters and just have Soon-Shin and Jun-Ho moments with some interference from Young-Hoon (because I LOVE it how he makes Jun-Ho jealous^^) and bread man, Hye-Shin and Woo-Joo?

I am still watching every single second of this drama because I really don't like giving up on dramas once I am half way through (well BOF is an exception but there I just couldn't stand the music anymore :P) but this one is testing me...

But I will tune in again next week^^ and for episode 30 of course

I never had the energy or time to actually watch this show, but I always read the recaps, but I found that I lacked the energy to even read those, this show was getting so bad. So I'm really psyched about these OT's and weecaps that have been posted recently, as it takes five minutes to read, total. It makes my Sundays!!

Yay, Bread man had much more screen time this week! The batting cage scene was cute. While I think him and Hye-shin are cute together, I'm looking forward to him winning over Woo-joo. I love seeing them together.

The part when Jun-ho had the guitar and at first he wasn't going to sing and then Young-hoon takes it from him for a minute (to goad him into playing) in my head I was shouting 'SING OFF, SING OFF!'. Because that would have been all kinds of awesome.

YAY for some goodness!! I tried watching through ep 29 yesterday and after fast clicking the highlights to see Junho's #XX?! FORLORN STARE at Soonshin crying into another guy's arms, I closed the page.

Very cheered that there is good things to see in ep 30... and really hope things will pick up now... Its all getting really repetitive and boring...

I used to love watching this show (and rewatching) because it was full of so much goodness, but just reading these highs and lows is getting draggy. I don't even know if the cute is enough for me to tune in anymore. I actually skipped my weekend fast forward of these two episodes this week. I still want to see where the characters are headed and how everything will end, but how to do it without watching the show and super scanning through these open threads? Ha. (I really do appreciate these posts though!) I think I will go watch Jo Jungseok serenade Soonshin (and me) though. Hahaha.

I'd be a million times happier about this show if we just focused on the 3 daughters' relationships and leave all the makjang behind. Who cares about the mothers, godamnit?!

Hmm...Soon Shin was in total zombie mode...ugh...this two Moms drama. Why does no one have sympathy for the Mom that raised her (though she was very annoying too)

Chanwoo said he would change hospitals...what will it take to get through to Yi Jung?

Yoon shin having to be drunk to admit she can't get over him was funny to me but at least he clearly knows she loves him too

And then Chanwoo is all, "I've followed you for 20 years...I'm not letting you get away." Damn when you put it that way...though he has been very clear on his position and strategy since the first confession.

She was all I won't cook breakfast and I'm giving my paycheck to Mom...and then crying about him being ahjumma's son and a good son LOL

I'm sure she'll deny all this once she sobers up but he's got her now.

One day, I hope someone will put together all the bread ajusshi scenes. I want to watch them, but I'm not even going to put in the effort to fastforward to find them.

Jo Jung Suk is such a good actor. They finally give him a chance to do sth besides standing there and staring miserably at LSS, and he does so much with it! He is abt 6 years old when he first refuses to sing, but then when the competition starts to, he stands up to rip the guitar off his hands. The scene where he shields SS's face fr the sun, where she falls asleep on his shoulder, his changing feelings of joy and deep satisfaction are expressed w a mere movement of the corner of his mouth. I can watch him act all day. Those big eyes! Why cast such a good actor and leave him in the shadows?

I always wonder if Korean parents are as awful as they r depicted in KD after KD. Don't they know that they need to give their grown children some small amt of space? Poor SS needs some time to process what has just been revealed to her. Why can't her mothers leave her alone for a while? Of course the sense of that would be totally lost on the nuthouse ready MR!

I really love this open thread thing, so I thought to say so after lurking on DB for so very long.
I am currently watching Ojakgyo Brothers and I realize why that one is so much more watchable - not everyone is having a bad time at the same time while LSS is just bad news, bad news, bad news.
The writers should really think how much angst viewers can take.

That shot of Young Hoon hugging Soon Shin is so pretty. Objectively so, because I'm a Jun Ho x Soon Shin shipper.

I've stopped watching for the last three weeks (since the birth secret came out). It's funny how we spent half the drama urging the birth secret to come out but are so obviously put off by the hamhanded makjangness thereafter. Hate both moms.

PLSPLSPLSPLS CARRY ON DOING THE RECAP. I've been waiting wayyy too long for the junho soonshin part and now that it has begun, I'm sure it will only get better! ^ ^ thabks a lot for reopening this thread. I love all the lovelines in this show. Just wish the ajummas didn't exist. Sigh

My whole family ( my mom, aunts, sis and I) is watching this drama and none of us feel as annoyed as most here!! Maybe expectations are different. As someone pointed out here, we signed up for a family drama and for me,thata means more about family interactions and conflicts and hopefully eventual resolution than romance comedy. So, I am not too terribly upset that the romance is doled out in such small measures. I like the cute as much as everyone else and look forward to more of that but it doesn't bother me that its been so much of the birth secret and how it affects them all.

I think that the characters ( apart from the time the mom went cruel on soon shin) have been consistent in their behavior and actions. The selfish and annoying ones continue to be selfish and annoying. Chan woo continues to be steady and firm in his love wihtout being disrespectful to his mom. Fully in keeping with his character so far.

As for whether families like this really exist, well I don't know about the west but in Asian culture, it certainly does esp amongst the more traditional families.

Well, those are my thoughts. Don't hate on me!

I am sad that you regard this series poorly. You cannot expect all dramas to be full of romantic lovey-dovey moments all the time.

I was wondering if the Korean audiences were having the same reaction, but cannot find any current Nielsen (or other)ratings on it. The site I used before for the weekly ratings has not updated for quite a while.

Anyone know of a good site to see what the current viewer ratings for Korean cable/TV are?

Hah.. MR's facepalm moment are too many to choose from. Every time she's on screen, I take a deep breath and try not to reach in and shake her (even though I fast forward most of her scenes). I think for me, I think MR's actions make JA look much better than she actually is.

I don't mind YA.. Look at her previous 'mother', she did a switcheroo as well. So she learned from the perfect person.

Someone mentioned Ojakgyo Brothers... and an awful thought appeared: could Junho's father be the hit and run driver who killed Soonshin's father? OMG ... it's not going to turn into a complete makjang, is it? You know: Junho and Soonshin finally came to realize their feelings for each other, start dating, then his father opposes the match because she is an actress (or by this time she will be). Then, finally approves, but oh, no, there is 10 more episodes, so there must be another dragged out hurdle - Junho's dad is a hit and run driver. Miryung is changed for the better by living with Soonshin and caring for the first time for another human being... they are more like a mother and daughter... and then BAM, this mother didn't come forward with the story of the hit and run. Aigo.

I watched this for the 5 minutes of chan woo and yoo shin... better go back to hunt for jjs's singing. I'd watch more of it but fell out of disinterest for the mommy drama. I found it intriguing at first until it became unreasonable.

Thanks, JB. If only all the episodes were as great as the first twenty-five minutes of episode 30, I'd be a happy, happy girl--but not as happy as Jun-ho was in the train scene. ;D

I swear, this show get more and more annoying by every episode. The only reasons that I am even watching it is because the Breadman bits are so funny.... I think that is what is the only RomCom part of this show... I mean sure we still want our hero and heroine to be together but they really aren't making progress the way we want them to. The other problem is that we have to endure 10 more weeks before we can digest this show... This show isn't as cute and as fun to watch anymore. Everyone is just so sad and I feel like this show is set up to basically showcase the crazy Mi-Ryung role.

I am honestly too peeved at everyone (except Breadman) because they are all so annoyingly gloomy. There isn't enough humor on this show... This sucks! The only show that went on forever that I ever really liked was Smile, You. I think I'll take time to watch Breadman from now on.

I'm not gonna touch on the mom or the YS/CW plot coz there is already too much negativity running around this thread for that, and I'd rather focus on the good parts! (good vibes, good vibes!lol)

Anyway, here are some points I want to touch on these two episodes:

-I like YH, not necessarily want him to end up with LSS, but as a character I find that he is dependable and morally upright, so I was a bit disappointed that he answered SJH's call AND didn't tell LSS about it. Maybe he is trying to protect LSS and maybe didn't want her to be uncomfortable by mentioning SJH but I was just really bothered by it, even his assistant pointed out that it was rude. I honestly wouldn't have forgiven him so easily if not for the jealous fit that SJH had because of it!lol...I still think that YH is not interested in LSS in the romantic sense. To me, he is still just acting like a big brother that wants to protect her. Also, the small glances he throws between SJH and LSS makes me think that he actually understands SJH's feelings for LSS more that he's letting on, and is purposely egging SJH because of this. (that's why i'm letting him go for the phone call incident!lol) But if he does harbour some romantic feelings towards LSS, then I'm counting the phone incident as a FOUL!hehe

-the scene where SJH caught YH hugging LSS broke my heart--the way SJH slowed his pace when he saw the two before stopping rather than just immediately stopping dead in his tracks made it heart wrenchingly more effective. And the close up--I swear, if this guy's eyes can talk, it would probably have said an episode's worth of monologue!With just a split second, he was able to convey disbelief, pain, and confusion! There's just no end to raving about how incredibly talented JJS is, is there?hehe

-I love the guitar scene!!! First, because I get to hear JJS sing and play the guitar!Secondly, coz its another scene that shows LSS wavering on SJH. She gets mesmerized when SJH started playing, started reminiscing of her time with SJH, but then gets hold of herself and leaves, just to prove (i think) that none of it means anything to her. Lately, I find her doing this a lot--forcing herself to reject SJH, but somehow can't help but softening up to him. I think that the reason she is rejecting him so much is because she relates SJH with acting but now that she's back on track, then maybe she won't have to avoid him so much and will soon find herself relying on him more than she intended to.

-The train scene! yey!!! I especially love SJH's dorky expression--trying to act nonchalant about having LSS sleeping on his shoulder but in the end not being able to help but grin like a goofy highschooler!kyaaa~~

-The stopover scene! more kyaa~~ (sorry, my vocab is starting to fail on me--too much feels for JJS!hahaha). Especially the part where they had to take shelter from the rain and SJH helped LSS sort out her hair. The look LSS gave at that time is like that of a schoolgirl with a hopeless crush!hehe. Then when SJH told LSS that she's beautiful to him--total love KO!lol SJH should have more careless moments like this!hehe

Okay you guys, yes there is a lot of makjang but none of y'all are properly appreciating our MR SHIN! When I watched the ending of episode 29, I instantly noticed how the writers tried to fit all these little things in the last 15 minutes to satisfy us Jun Ho stans.

Gold moments in ep 29-30
1. His overreaction when Young Hoon told him they were sleeping the night

2. The fact that he instantly went back to his funny misunderstanding self and blindly went to their MT without thinking about his actions

3. When he tried to find their location in a hurry and tripped up over on a tree... LOL, at that moment all that went through my head was 'hesss baaaack!' We all lost count of how many times he tripped up on something during the first 5 episodes, so that part was highly satisfying.

4. So many cheesy grins instead of the usually glum looks of ep 20-28 from our Mr Shin that I found myself unconsciously grinning cheese with him.

5. THE DUDE SANG... He actually SANG!

While watching these parts I felt as if my email to KBS had been read, lol. One of the main things I said was that I want the old Mr Shin back. Even though it was only for a short while, I'm glad he still popped out! Now all they need to realise is that 3/4's of the drama need to be like end of 29/beginning of 30 and only a 1/4 needs to be given to the ahjummas!

I love Yoo-shin's indirect acceptance of Chan-woo's proposal. I think it's really honest. We can all see she's affected by her soon-to-be mother-in-law's inquiry of her relationship with her son and her very obvious dislike of her. I just think it's funny that she accepted his proposal after reassuring his mother twice already that they already broke up. Hee.

Plus many cute Soon-shinxJun-ho moments are ALWAYS welcome. :)

I have Mi-ryung. That's it.

Honestly some parts of the drama have gotten ridiculous! But still love the small bits of romance they put in! You know I'm waiting for that reporter to publish the story what if he publishes it w the true dad's name and he turns out to be some rich scary dude that totally brings Mi ryung down to size! That'd be funny!

I feel stupid cursing at my computer when the same old annoying characters do the same old annoying things. Why can't they just. disappear.

YTBLSS and I have a love-hate relationship. I'm ready to stay strong and watch every second of this drama no matter how much I dread the angst to come just because of how much I loved the moments that I did. I'm not going to say anything about all this angst... and while Mi Ryung is in my negative spotlight, I still try to think about what could make her like this and consider how she was raised in an orphanage and the weekly bad experiences with whoever is Lee Soon Shin's biological father, it's probably painful for her to admit and that's why she lets the misunderstanding that Chang Hoon is her real father continue...

Please, please, I hope that the writers of this have an actually really great plan for how everything comes together in the end, or that they will clean YTBLSS up nicely and let it redeem itself, because it started so so well

I wish bread man and Hye-Shin wasn't a 5 minute segment every episode...their storyline is like the only thing I look forward to every episode these days..

I have no idea if anyone will read this as its so long since this series was aired, but perhaps you're like me and started watched the series off Youtube. I'm new to Korean drama, but I've seen many Korean movies. I thought this was a fantastic series. I really wanted to comment about the person "Javabeans" recommending skipping parts. DON'T!!! You'll miss too much and won't enjoy the eventual payoff. I came across this blog when I actually started watching the series a second time. I was enjoying this person's commentary, but was disappointed with the negative reaction to anything that wasn't "cute". Youll lose the intensity if you skip the hard parts. DON'T SKIP!!!!
