Gong Hyo-jin is More Than Beautiful for short film
by javabeans
Does Gong Hyo-jin never rest? She seems to be doing piling on the back-to-back projects these days, with a bunch of films (Boomerang Family, 577 Project, Love Fiction) and a drama on the way (the horror-rom-com from the Hong Sisters). Now there’s You Are More Than Beautiful, a short film set to release in two weeks that co-stars Park Hee-soon (All About My Romance, The Client).
The story centers around one simple-hearted Jeju man (Park Hee-soon) whose terminally ill father wants him to see him marry. The character is described as devoted and deeply wounded; he spent his life resenting his father but wants to at least fulfill his last wish. Aw.
But then… to fulfill his father’s dying wish, the man travels to Seoul and employs an actress to be his fake fiancé. Which I… guess?… is better than marrying a random woman just till your father dies? I don’t know? That may be what we call six in one hand and half dozen in the other. The plot sounds like something out of a wacky rom-com, but the stills make it seem more contemplative; perhaps it’ll be the best of both worlds and be thoughtful with a morbidly funny streak. I would really dig that.
You Are More Than Beautiful, which was shot 100% in Jeju, was actually first produced as one of the installments of an omnibus project called Beautiful 2012 for Chinese internet TV site Youku. Beautiful 2012 featured shorts by four directors; Kim Tae-yong was one, having previously directed Hyun Bin and Tang Wei in the romance-melo film Late Autumn. After screening as part of the Hong Kong International Film Festival and Busan International Film Festival, now this short is getting its solo release.
You Are More Than Beautiful opens on June 13.

Park Hee-soon was wonderful in All About My Romance and has got one of the sexiest, deep and raspy, voices around. Gong Hyo-jin is always a hoot!

That is a really nice little film. Gong Hyo Jin is always charming, and the situation is one all of us have to deal with eventually in the real world.

Do you mean we will all need to rent a significant other for a few hours to please a dying parent?
Yikes.
I was hoping to find one for free.

LOL
True. We all want to find 1 for free, free of baggage, easy in the eyes, good manner, loyal and loaded if possible.. Well, at least, if he isn't now, he has to have potential to be 1 in the near future.. ^^

Actually, I meant having to deal with the conflicted feelings on the death of a parent. But, the film is funny as well as poignant.

As much as I've enjoyed Gong Hyo-jin in dramas/films, I actually enjoyed her the most in her guest appearance on RM - she really has a fun, charming (and a bit mischievous) personality.

They tell such a rich story in so few minutes. Stuff like this makes me wish I had some talent with filmmaking.
They both are adorable in this.

Ooooh. I want to see it and I can right away because a nice person posted it. Thank you! Lol.
I like both of them. Watching All About My Romance and Park Hee Soon is great (the character though, is...I love him and then I want to shake him really hard sometimes). My second time seeing him in something. I love his voice.
Gong Hyo Jin is 5ever a favorite, of course. Love her.

Lmao, Gong Hyo Jin and Beautiful should never been put in a same sentence. She's way too ugly to be an actress, I still can't get over how ugly and horrible she was in The Greatest Love.

GHJ while not of the notable beauties as actresses go has her charms (and she was made to look particularly unattractive for TGL) with the right make-up/hair.
And what do you mean "she's too ugly to be an actress"?
Jeon Do-yeon isn't a typical beauty but she is not only the top actress in Korea, but one of the best in the world.
Where is the job description that actresses (or actors) have to look like models?
Don't confuse matinee idol with actor/actress.

If you must troll, try to be funnier.
Admitedly, I chuckled when she claimed to have been in X rated movies. I adore Gong Hyo Jin, but I don't think there is a movie-level porn category for women as skinny as she is.
Gonglby, we know you were nicknamed after Olive Oyl, but, please, eat something!

woot woot absolutely love Gong Hyo Jin and husky deep voice Park Hee Soon! and wow Gong Hyo Jin seriously does not age... i was just watching movie Guns and Talks from 2001 and shes still looks so similar.. really a natural actress lol
On a side note... Guns and Talks is so omggggoodness funny and quirky! Sometimes a bit morbid but very interesting haha Impressive cast starring WonBin (the FAMOUS one), Shin Hyun Joon, Shin Ha Kyun (Brain!!), Jung Jae Young and Jung Jin Young

I've always liked Gong Hyo Jin, and she's is no where near "old," whatever that is, as defined by people and cultures, but I think she just becomes more luminous, more beautiful, and more interesting to watch on screen as time progresses. She was always fun to watch, but now she has a look in her eyes that speaks volumes.

what a beautiful pairing. but how short is short film? I want to watch. Love GHJ so much and after watching Park Hee-soon in All about my Romance, I fell in love with him. I like more his chemistry with Shin Ha-kyun, than with the leading ladies, hahaha =) Clearly, they are friends!
