First teaser and stills for I Hear Your Voice

Ooh, here’s our first peek at Lee Jong-seok in his new drama I Hear Your Voice, getting ready to air on Wednesdays and Thursdays on SBS. Um, they kind of look exactly like stills from his last drama School 2013, except maybe Go Nam-soon would just wear his scars like an accessory instead of hiding them with bandaids. When do I get to watch a drama where Lee Jong-seok doesn’t get beat up for his lunch money? His pain is my pain, people.

The new fantasy romance from the writer of Dream High stars Lee Bo-young and Yoon Sang-hyun as a pair of public defenders, and Lee Jong-seok as a super-powered kid who can hear people’s thoughts. How they get mixed up in each other’s lives is still unclear, but he starts to help the heroine on her cases, and gets a chance to use his powers for good. I’m guessing the cuts and bruises are because he starts out using his ability for less than honorable reasons, which would be a great place to start with the character. Oh, like you wouldn’t do a few naughty things if you woke up a mind-reader one day.

The promo stuff seems to point to Lee Jong-seok being the main character, which (go figure) they did not make clear from the get-go. But you won’t hear any complaints from me. I do think he might be more of a catalyst than say, the outright hero of the story, since Lee Bo-young and Yoon Sang-hyun are the underdog protagonists fighting to defend the weak and helpless. At least that’s what we’re told, because if you watched the teaser, the only thing you’d gather is that there are three pretty people in this drama. In the trailer’s defense, they’re very pretty people.

The teaser’s taglines seem to point to a first love reunion of some sort, which is also new: “Where are you? I haven’t forgotten you. If I meet you again… I will protect you. I miss you.” Cryptic, since we don’t know who’s saying what, but the stills of Lee Jong-seok were released with a description for his character, Park Su-ha, who “lives in a world that’s a little louder than others.” Yeah I’d say. The story will involve “unraveling the relationships that surround him like a skein of thread, to uncover his shocking past and his significant first love.”

I Hear Your Voice follows All About My Romance and premieres June 5 on SBS.

It "sounds" interesting but Dream High was such a trendy drama and idk if this one will be able to be "deep" enough, past the mind reading gimmick (hopefully it won't be gimmicky...but I don't trust the writer to say it's not). Also, I dislike Lee Bo Young's hair here. It ages her. I liked her hair in her past drama (not the lengthy one...the one with Uhm Tae Woong)...sighh

I agree.

Plus, it was déjà vu all around. I don't complain about the scars but the aquarium screamed Nagareboshi to me (okay, fine, so that's Japanese, but still...) and what's with the yellow umbrella/parasol? Just had that in You're the Best Lee Soon Shin.

Not that I'm any less interested in this, but I am hoping for a good storyline and visuals that don't just copy the pretty from elsewhere!

Same. Only impression I got from this teaser is the yellow umbrella, and it's remind me 'Love rain' and 'I miss you'.

Yellow Umbrellas are common in Korea...it's not copying anything.
And come on, multiple, tons of dramas use aquarium scenes. I've seen all kinds of nations, Taiwanese, Korean, Japanese use aquarium scenes.
I don't think you can link loosely similar dramas together and claim "same!".

HEH Yeokshi GF never fails to deliver. I was snickering so bad in public when I read this. LOVE THE HUMOR.
And yes, I don't think that LJS looked any much different from his Nam Soon character in School 2013. Let's hope that he'll prove us wrong,eh?
Is it wrong for me to get all hyped up about LJS rather than our two other leads. GUY'S TOO PRETTY TO RESIST.
I don't think that I'll ever forget the Heung-Soon bromance though heheheh I have nothing but fond memories for School 2013.
OH AND IS LJS IN A SAGEUK AS WELL?
I remembered coming across a picture of him in his mane-of-glory over here not so long ago. Hmm.

Oh, wow. I think you're right. If I heard random people's voices in my head all day long, I'd probably want to block them off as loudly as I can, too. If that's even possible since it's your head... But maybe just drowning them out, or distracting your thoughts may help..?

Man, I'm hoping this drama is good. I do need to see Oska and Tae-sun together again. Damn Seul.

This drama sounds interesting, but the teaser is... Well, i think it might be more suitable if that was a video for umbrella Cf, or to suggest people go out and enjoy the nature. But i'll check thi drama out anyway, cuz who can't ignore the cutie LJS as a mind-reader?

The trailer didn't tell me anything. Except that the drama is now more of a mystery than ever!

I love LJS but if this drama looks anywhere like its going to turn out like a hot mess then I'm dropping this like a hot potato.

Crossing fingers that DH writer is going to pull miracles out from his/her hat - I mean just look at what that writer did with DH! Almost a whole cast of idols who couldn't really act...and yet the story was perfect for them. Work your miracles writer-nim!

I am going to try to watch this (please sub this someone!) because it sounds really interesting, and I like all of the actors (hey, her role in Equator Man was not her fault, people!), but is this possibly the worse trailer ever? It tells us nothing AT ALL about this show. The music and coloring would make me think of a 70s feminine hygiene product commercial if there weren't two guys in it.

The premise actually deserves a much better sell than this.

I call that a "We Don't Have Anything To Show You Yet Teaser". But hey, it's nice to look at. At least we know that Spring is here in Korea...
I feel like the 2 male characters will have the same importance in the story (I want a GOOD script, I don't care for hierarchy.)
I'm more worried for the ratings: AAMR is in the 4% ratings these days. I hope the magic will work for them.

As much as I adore lee jong suk(his portrayal as wounded namsoon won me over)I will not be checking out this drama. I've made a vow to myself to never watch a drama starring lee bo young again. I've only seen her in equator man and she's by far the worst k-actress I've seen..

haha....i dunno about the worst...I've seen really bad ones...but she has never impressed me...she's in the same line with that girl from 'When a man is in love' whatever her name is... for me...she makes me irritated for no reason...i find it soo hard to warm up to her characters no matter how kind she's supposed to be in a drama...LBY just doesn't interest me, but I have enough interest in the two guys to tune in....fingers crossed!! Who knows? This might be the turning point for me ....haha....

but really, with so many current offerings of really stylish teasers, this looks like a bad commercial =/

So refreshing to see Lee Bo Young as a lovely, charming, and smiley lady in this drama in comparison to her charming but dark character in "My Daughter Seo-Young". So, is there a clear romance between all three? I'm just curious as to who will pair with Lee Bo Young in this drama. Wish this drama much success and hopefully it will avoid the plague of Wed-Thur's low ratings.
