Park Shin-hye and Yoon Kye-sang’s rom-com short
by girlfriday
Park Shin-hye and Yoon Kye-sang have teamed up with director Kim Ji-woon (I Saw the Devil, The Good The Bad The Weird) for a short film called Rock Paper Scissors of Love, which has begun shoots and released some stills. I don’t know why this director is doing all these sponsored shorts lately; I have this image in my head of him being chased by loan sharks like a dramaland Candy. It’s one thing if getting direct promotional funding allows him to make something that he otherwise couldn’t, but if they’re just extended commercials, my interest will take a sharp nosedive.
This one is part 2 of a series for outdoor wear brand Kolon Sport, called “Way to Nature Film Project.” Part 1 was a 20-minute short directed by Park Chan-wook, starring Song Kang-ho. They sure do get big names, don’t they? Kim Ji-woon’s short will be a rom-com, and his first foray into the genre.
Yoon Kye-sang stars as a “black hole of dating,” a man so clueless that he has a 100% rejection rate. Park Su-jin plays a woman he gets set up with on a blind date, and then he’ll meet the woman of his dreams in Park Shin-hye. After playing a friendship gone so wrong in Flower Boy Next Door, I hope the two actresses won’t be playing rivals again. It seems a little too soon for that kind of redundancy.
The stills from the first shoot feature Yoon Kye-sang’s bumbling hero taking Park Su-jin out on a trek for their first date, not cluing into the fact that she’s stumbling around in her heels and not enjoying the spontaneity. I do look forward to his character, who’s described as an oddball and a blank page when it comes to the ways of love. Yoon Kye-sang being a big dork is never not fun.
Rock Paper Scissors of Love will be released online at Kolon Sport in April.

At first I thought this drama was about me...but then again RL is crazier sometimes than any drama scenario a writer could dream up!

I actually think he looks better with Park Soo Jin. Must suck to be stuck in bitchy roles all the time :-(

well they are both older
PSH is a lot younger than him actually
But she is the biggest star among the casts so...
Not to mentions she'd be the one than get Soo Jin this job as well lol
I'm glad that they have become close after FBND though

Yoon Kye Sang is very famous in Korea in his own right. He was an ex-idol with the popular group G.O.D and had many good dramas projects, so you cant say PSH is the biggest star. She is only the biggest star for those who are just starting to be exposed to kdrama in the last 2-3 years.

Park Shinhye got close with Park Soo Jin lately and introduced her to the director
It's so sweet of her
but with her crazy schedule lately ( graduation, short drama, Asian tour and the up coming Sword and flower in July) I hope she still have time to rest but doubt it
I'm still glad she get a chance to work with director Kim Ji Woon even it's for commercial purpose. He picked and complimented both Park Shin Hye and Yoon Hye Sang
But I'm more nervous and excited to know who will be her leading man in Sword and Flower which is mostly to be casted by the news and such

It should be alright, but Yoon Kye Sang's twice the age of Park Shin Hye. I'm alright with 10 years or so, but....creepy.

KJW is the first Korean director to direct a film in hollywood. He wants to be remembered as a director who captured peoples mysterious facial expressions on film most beautifully......to capture moments that inspire and move people in a beautiful way with depth. He says that Shinhye's eyes are beautiful and he is curious about what she can express with her eyes. He also believes that only YKS can play this particular role. This makes me really look forward to see what he will do with this mini romantic comedy with a name that hopefully will make some sense to me after watching it.

Love Yoon Kye-sang & I think Park Shin-hye is plenty cute but I feel so indifferent toward her. I could not finish You're Beautiful because Mi-nam was driving me up the wall into a woodchopper, but I can't say that was PSH's fault because the character was written that way. Although I do think she could have played the role with more spunk besides puppy dog eyes & inveterate helplessness. I only read the recaps for FBND so I didn't see her in action...
However, I do want to check this out, if anything to start changing my current opinion of her, because she's rising through the ranks and pretty soon she'll probably start pairing up with actors I like in projects I'll be interested in. So yay for hope~!

Thank you GF for posting about Park Shin Hye!!
I agree with people that her kissing needs more practice (come on put some steamy passion into them please!!!!). But her acting is great. The more popular roles (Heartstrings and YAB) have poorly written teen-oriented characters. Her other stuff is a better representation of her skill.
I hope she doesn't stop expanding her horizons and continues to do well in the industry :)
Btw, thank goodness for directors using real actors/actresses!!

Is Kolon Sport a big company/brand ? Doing this kind of promotion surely costs a lot : big name directors and actors and not-so-short movies (I thought the short movies would be something like 10 minutes, like extended MV or something).

I love them both and I'm wishing this was a romcom drama so that I can enjoy it longer. the premise looks cute and those two can SURELY pull off the cute.
sigh--- I really miss Yoon Kye-sang. watching reruns of his previous dramas is not enough.
sigh----
anyway, I kinda like Park Soojin's look here. Her hair looks gorgeous and I think she's looking fit here unlike in FBND where she's too thin (IMO).

I just don't like that concept: Do ads or do dramas. We already have that annoying PPL everywhere, I'm not going to watch this even if my fav biases were in this. :(

It seems that SJK is more inclined towards a shorter project from some news floating around. I am just focusing on this movie since I have a feeling it will be different and interesting no matter wether its short or a sponsored one. It's the message that comes across and how it's being handled. Btw, how much 'mini' of a MV is it?

OMO!!
Yoon Kye Sang is back!
I will surely and definitely watch this because of YKS. I've been crazy for him after his "crazy for you", began to question myself if he is still a human because he was just soooooooooooooo ammmmmaaaaaaaaaazzzzzzing in his "who are you", cosidered him as my best love on his "best love" and began to fantasize him on his movie "poongsan".
I hope YKS and Shi Min Ah or Kim Tae Hee will do a project/movie together in the very near future.
YKSshi Saranghamnida!
