This is a big mistake for Yonghwa acting career, he will be type cast as Shin hye shadow, he needs to be paired with other actress, their last pairing was a flop can't u learn from previous mistake? Two is enough three is too much boring, people will boycot this drama

Heartstrings and You're Beautiful needed singers. So of course it made sense to use them. While LMH isn't a singer, he can sing, and so I'm wondering, is there going to be music involved in this because of who they are picking.

Lol LMH is suppose to play a high schooler? There's no way he can still pass himself off as one. I have no problem with older people playing high school students so long as they can pass themselves off as one.

Onto the casting news. Eh, I was already feeling iffy about this drama because of the genre (I love teen romance dramas, but when it comes to k-dramas, for some reason, I can never get into them with the exception of Dream High.). The drama gods are telling me not to watch this drama by adding Yonghwa to the mix. Love the guy for his music, but frankly he's terrible at picking roles and he hasn't proven his worth as an actor. He always goes for the same kind of drama (teen, romance -- does he want to be known as a one-trick pony that can only act in only one specific genre?), the previous two characters that he played were so two-dimensional, and his acting wasn't good. He should be like the rest of CNBLUE and work his way up by taking smaller supporting roles and prove that he's worthy of taking larger roles before taking them on.

And Park Shin Hye and Yonghwa together again? Does he always pick his projects according to whether or not she stars in it?

I predict that this drama will either do very well or very badly in Korea in terms of ratings.

As Yonghwa's fan, obviously I will take my weekly dose of him with open arms. Although maybe I will embrace that FF button.
I actually don't mind people criticize his acting as long as they word it nicely. He needs to improve. I don't deny that. But I don't agree with the fuss about repeat pairing, the story which we don't even know yet nor the prejudgement about high school setting.
Repeat pairing happens a lot in other asian countries' dramas, but I've never saw the objection as strong as what happen right now. And Yonghwa-Shinhye are not even the main couple.
For people who think they are too old for high school, maybe you should check again the casts of reply 1997.

As actors i like PSH and LMH but i really prefer if Yonghwa sticks to his music..hopefully his awkward and stiff acting wont clashed with LMH usually stone faced character.....but cant deny that they are most beautiful ppl..

I like each individual actor on their own merit, However I feel they are getting their money's worth out of Park Shin-hye - 4 kdrama's is enough. You're Beautiful was fun to watch but felt she and Jung Yong Hwa had better chemistry and it was proven in Heartstrings. Now I read they are dating? The chemistry shows during the performance so not sure how this will play out if she is with LMH.

i will definitely waiting for it... you can't judge the casting and the drama until you will watch it ...on my opinion , the writer has her own reason why she gave/entrusted the role to the three stars... and why she entrusted the role to JYH, simply because she saw the potential on him... I don't think seeing JYH and PSH together again on the third time around for me is disappointment but an exceptional... i love them .. the casting and i will definitely watch it no matter what ...

Frankly, I'm just glad to see Yong-hwa acting in another drama. I've missed him. Sure, both (now three) of his dramas were with Shin-hye but really, is it that terrible? There have been worse pairings.

Hey guys! I saw a promotional video of the drama The Heir in youtube. It looks like the ending will be Park Shin and Lee Minho will end up together and the setting is in HS. Yong Hwa was not shown there because they focus it with Park Shin and Lee Minho. It looks like that this will be a love triangle which I don't like it. Why do the script writer always pick Yong Hwa as the pitiful guy. Anyways, I will still watch this drama for the sake of Park Shin and Yong Hwa. I hope there's a twist towards the end that Park Shin and Yong Hwa will end up together.

It says in the description of the drama series that it's a story of friendship and love. I wonder if the three of the casts LMH,JYH&PSH are best friends and possible heirs of the throne and these two guys are running after who will become the man of Park Shin. What is your guess?

WAEYO? I found these two adorable omo~! Yonghwa and Shinhye are my favourite actors, and I ABSOLUTELY loved them in Heartstrings! I love Yonghwa in all of his dramas. But just personally I think Heartstrings was SO underrated. The OST was beyond daebak and they were so cute together like srsly relationship goals! But anyway, he declined the role. Disappointed because it would have been awesome! But then again maybe not because I love lee minho too
