Go Joo-won to play Yoo Inna’s love interest

This drama sounds cuter by the day. We’ve got another lover boy joining the ranks of weekend family drama You’re the Best, Lee Soon-shin, to which there’ll probably be no end, given the family of three daughters at the center of the story. Now that we’ve got youngest daughter IU squared away with Jo Jung-seok, it’s time to turn our attention to second daughter Yoo Inna, and her onscreen beau-to-be Go Joo-won (Kim Suro), in his first project post-army duty.
Yoo Inna plays second daughter Lee Yoo-shin, a marketing exec for an outdoor brand. (What IS it with k-drama and its obsession with outdoorsy-wear product placement? Hardly anyone ever goes camping, but everyone in a drama’s got like seventeen scenes of shopping for hiking gear.) Anyway, outside of her family life, she’s great at everything — art, sports, her job, even dating. But at home, she’s the middle child and constantly overshadowed by her unni (played by Sohn Tae-young) and the maknae (IU).
Go Joo-won plays the boy next door, literally the kid who grows up in the next house over, and is classmates with Yoo-shin. He’s a dermatologist and a particularly sweet oppa to IU’s character Soon-shin. In fact, growing up next door to the family, he’s always seen the second sister give the maknae a hard time, and has had a one-sided crush on the little sister for a really long time.
So while he’s sweet and nothing but nice to the little sister, because he’s friends and classmates with Yoo-shin, they have a totally different relationship — he’s constantly bickering with her and they drive each other crazy. Which of course means they’re doomed to fall madly in love someday. They sound like an adorable pair of characters, and I really love stories with old friends who bicker their way into romance. Here’s hoping for good things.
You’re the Best, Lee Soon-shin premieres March 9 on KBS.

it does sound interesting but i wish kdramas in general had better titles. way too many of the titles in kdramaland detract from the initial appeal of the project. i've learned to ignore the names but this title is an example of the times where if i relied on the name only i would not be interested in watching the project . . . oh well!

I actually think it's great that she will be working with someone who just got out of the army, and just getting back into the trade - maybe she can get some pointers to pass on to JHW, and it will make it easier for her to understand what he is going through when he gets out.

this is kinda unrelated...but
to the "Hardly anyone ever goes camping" remark..
camping is actually a trend in korea!
the whole trend is called "글램핑" (glamping)
because it's for the richer people in korea..where they go "camping" with high-tech stuff and expensive outfits to places designated for camping and not really "in the wild" or anything haha
on a more related note,

I live in Korea and I'd say the trend isn't camping but more that people enjoy hiking and always want to have the best gear. I used to live near Nambu-san which is like a 25 minute hike. Everyone always had jackets, hats, packs, sticks, the works. I thought it was ridiculous and made fun of them...until an ajusshi pulled my ass up a steep part of Bukhansan using one of his sticks. Karma.

A lot of Koreans certainly have a ton of hiking gear. When I was living there I'd go for a walk on a mounain* in my normal clothes and pass tons of Koreans with two sets of "ski polls" and full hiking uniform, usually including a hat.
*To me if there's rock under the dirt it's a mountain not a hill.

This drama is an absolute for sure watch at this point. I now like the 4 leads we've seen and can imagine rooting for both couples. That's all it takes for me to be sold. Plus the descriptions sound adorable and fun. Can't wait!

Ok so I am mildly appeased with this update (storyline sounds adorable) though in a perfect world Yoo Inna would be the lead (cause she's awesome). Anyhoo I am definitely going to watch either way so I am just going have to let that go.
How is this guy? I have never seen him in anything but he's cute. (He kinda looks like Song Seung hun to me?)

sounds interesting I love bickering friends that turn into lovers, but uh I loved Queen In-Hyun's Man so I'm going to have to struggle not to smack Go Joo-won and yell get your hands off Ji Hyun Woo's woman.

Ooh ..bickering their way into romance?! Sounds like the couple in Reply 1997. Haha....have not seen Yoo Inna since a long long time but I don't really like long dramas. Still in a dilemma whether to watch.

I've always kinda liked Go Joo Won, but I cannot give people an explanation of why. He's good looking, but not very strikingly good looking like a lot of other korean actors. Moreover, he doesn't have the charm/charisma to carry the weight of a main character and he's definitely not a good actor. On top of that, he doesn't seem to be very picky with his projects and doesn't seem to be putting in a lot of effort into becoming a "real" actor.
Despite all that, I've always just kinda liked him. He seems like a decent guy and I appreciate his calm/quiet demeanor.
