Jung Kyung-ho announces comeback project

The army giveth, and the army taketh away. At least this time we’re getting one back from its clutches, as Jung Kyung-ho (Smile, You) announces his comeback project. It’s a movie called Man and Typhoon, and it’s the directorial feature debut for actor Ha Jung-woo (Love Fiction, The Client), who’s expanding his range of talents to get behind the camera.
It sounds like an ambitious project for a first-time director: A plane carrying a Hallyu star and a diverse collection of passengers finds itself imperiled by an unexpected typhoon. A plot like that calls for special effects, but I suppose it has the benefit of being almost entirely filmed in one set. Maybe it all balances out.
Despite sounding like a pumping action type movie, it actually has more of a humorous bent to it and promises lots of laughs. Jung Kyung-ho plays the haughty star Ma Jun-kyu, who leads the cast in “comic commotion.” Ha, does that mean he’s going to be a huge wuss? Because I can totally see Jung playing the wuss; he has great comic timing and isn’t afraid to look silly.
Jung called it an honor to be offered the role by Ha Jung-woo, who’s both his school sunbae and fellow client of the same agency. He said he’s been eager to get back to work during his army-enforced hiatus, and is rarin’ to start filming.
Man and Typhoon is currently working on filling out the rest of its cast and plans to begin filming at the end of November, with the aim of a release in the latter half of 2013.

Ah, Hyun Bin. Oh, do I miss him. But at least Jung Kyung Ho has finally picked up a new project. Too bad LMJ is currently taken. Darn it, another OTP down the drain, and I never had that many I wanted real in the first place. *sigh*
Please give me at least a couple years for ChaeKi. I need endorsements - a slew of them. Better yet, another drama collaboration. Come on Kdrama producers, it's the trend now for multiple collaborations. Except this time, a rom-com please. I can't have another EunMa breaking my heart.

Cannot wait! I didn't think Ha Jung-woo's first film would be a comedy, I was expecting some heavy dramatic film for some reason, but this sounds awesome. And Jung Kyung-ho can be funny, but his Hallyu star role from I'm Sorry, I Love You drove me crazy with his baby antics. Hopefully this Hallyu star character won't be as annoying.

I loled so hard at your comment, even though lee byung hun is a catch in anyones book, I do wish Lee Min Jung and Jung Kyung-ho could have been they would have been nice together (if Smile You wa saything to go by)

Ha Jung Woo never rests ever.
I love him.
As an actor he has chosen interesting and varied roles, and worked with many fine actors and directors. I bet he has built up a lot of goodwill over the years, too.
And his father is an actor.
I think he will be a fabulous director.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Him!! Too bad it's a movie and not a drama :( I got so excited thinking this was a drama before I read it's a movie...darn. Come back to dramas!! I'm actually rewatching Smile You now. Such an awesome drama! SO cute!

Welcome back Jung Kyung Ho! I miss him so much. He is my favorite Korean actor. I love his smile and his acting. I hope he will succeed in his new movie with Ha Jung Woo and next project is a good drama.
