This drama keeps looking more and more fun. Don’t let me down, Jeon Woo-chi, don’t you dare!
These stills for the KBS fusion sageuk drama focus on lead actress UEE, shown flying around and in action for her role as “ice princess” Hong Mu-yeon, the expressionless and emotionless young woman who gets wrangled over to the Dark Side. She’s bewitched by a spell that robs her of her feelings and forced into evil-doing, including a murder… which should muddy the waters when her heartbroken sweetheart Jeon Woo-chi (Cha Tae-hyun) finds out what she’s been up to. Especially since he’s the hero fighting the evil forces of Joseon. Eep. Talk about star-crossed.
I’m intrigued at the description of Mu-yeon as expressionless, in that UEE will have to depict her as feeling nothing—and yet that does not equal empty acting, or overall blandness. Sometimes you hear the argument that so-and-so actor is supposed to be a stoic character, but there’s a difference between stiff, bad acting and good acting that portrays an interesting character dilemma. We’ve all seen UEE being the bubbly, expressive sort (Ojakkyo Brothers) and the bratty, bitchy sort (You’re Beautiful), so I don’t doubt her acting skills. I’m interested in how she’ll make the character connect, though.
These stills were filmed at Naju Image Theme Park in Jeollanam-do in the south, which has played host to a number of sageuk dramas in the past, like Jumong. In this scene, spell-possessed Mu-yeon attacks her grandfather Hong Gil-dong and his protegé Jeon Woo-chi. OH NO. She’s not the reason gramps dies, is she? That would be so tragic. (We’ve been given a number of disjointed bits about the plot, and I’ve been trying to piece them together without jumping to conclusions. It’s hard. So far we know grandpa dies, which spurs Jeon Woo-chi to vow revenge for losing both Teacher Hong Gil-dong and sweetie Mu-yeon. “Losing” suggests death, but in her case it could refer to the loss of her soul/identity.)
Jeon Woo-chi follows Nice Guy on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and will premiere in November.

that is a beautyful color, and a good pick cause purple seems distanced, mysterious, veiled, in a separate world. not everyone can wear it.
My respect for UEE has grown considerably since You Are Beautiful and I think she is capable of such a character without being bland. Good luck, UEE!

yes, it is harder to do expressionless features than anything else. The problem is, Taehyun might always make her laugh during shoots. i'm seeing endless re-takes because of this, hahahah

And she's a smart one, picking such varied characters to play.
Think about how much she learned hanging around all the sunbaes on OB, especially the funny, lovely and gracious Kim Ja-ok (MNIKSS).
Now she gets to work with Cha Tae-hyun! It's gonna be great.

For Ojakkyo Brothers, she won the newcomer awards at KBS Drama Awards and Paeksang for her role in that drama. And she's not rushing to star in a new drama... I bet she got a lot of offer after that.
Perhaps she's busy with her After School activity or she still can't let go of her character, she did an excellent job portraying the role of Baek Jaeun in OB.

Love what she's wearing - so a gorgeous hanbok!
Wasn't too taken by her in You're Beautiful (but that might have partially been annoyance at her character). Haven't seen OB.
I'll probably wait for the reviews/recaps for this one before deciding whether to try it or not.

TBH I don't like the whole saeguk and modern time travel concept,which is why I dropped rooftop,queen inhyun,and dr.jin(well for that and also for other obvious reasons lol)but I will watch this just for Uee.

Have you watched Arang? That's fusion sageuk, and they didn't have time travel at all.
I don't think this one has time travel either. It's probably a normal sageuk, but with magic and stuff, like Arang.

so far there's no time travel that i watch untill finish, i don't like dr jin n rooftop prince, but queen in hyun is the best betwen three the story more smart n reasonable plus romantic i didn't finish it because i'm boring i watch untill ep 10, i didn't finish arang too.
For Joon wochi, i see the movie n i think the time travel story is reasonable, i will check it

This is really off topic, but i think you forgot to update the episodes for the sbs weekend dramas this week...i mean it's the same numbers as last week...and i remember that Five fingers premiered together with May queen and now they don't have the same episode numbers...
and, please, could you add the two jtbc dramas to the list (Can we get married and Childless comfort), please!?

Love the casting news and all the comments. Flying (my favorite-takes me to other places in my heart and mind), "sumptuous purple", fallen angel, darkness, saeguk, UEE. . . .'Twill be my 39th kdrama since April 2012. So in love with them! I'm hooked on kdramas for sure :)

If I hadn't already decided on watching this series, these stills would have convinced me: how could it not, with her facial expression, character description, and badass role in the drama? Also, I'm a big fan of sageuks and the main reason is because of the beautiful costumes and scenery

this doesn't mean CTH is unaltheletic, if you have been keeping up with the show, you should have seen how other members were also normally exhausted after coming off their dramas, first with UTW, and later with JW who always talked about how tired he has been at the time, it's just a normal thing for them to be in such a shape since 1n2d is not less demanding in any way :/

I only watched her in You're Beautiful and it was pretty decent I guess. She was the evil character, but not annoyingly acting it out.
