Yoochun confirms I Miss You

Finally, some confirmation: Yoochun has decided he will be taking on MBC’s melodrama I Miss You after all, after “seriously considering” it for weeks. Granted it sounds like he was pretty much onboard the project anyway, but it did take a while to get the final notice.
That makes him the first of the main leads to be cast (if we’re not counting the childhood versions, to be played by Yeo Jin-gu and Kim So-hyun); Yoochun will play Han Jung-woo, described as a “cheerful, cheeky detective” in the violent crimes department. He’s got a pleasant personality until he’s on a criminal’s trail, and then he turns into a fiend who doesn’t rest until the bad guy’s been caught. Interesting juxtaposition of traits there, but you pretty much had me at Yoochun being cheeky. My favorite version! Plus, you’ve got Yeo Jin-gu starting things off with his awesome adorable self, then passing on the baton to Yoochun. Way to build up the affection from the get-go.
It’s a good thing the character’s got such an upbeat personality, since I think the plot’s going to bring our characters enough angsting. The two leads fall in love in their youths and get separated in a painful manner designed to keep them brooding about What Could Have Been (also What Once Was) for their early adulthood. Then they meet again.
It’s looking less likely that Chun Jung-myung will be taking the antagonist’s role, but the latest articles still have him listed as a potential second lead. It sounds like the fandom’s got the pulse on this drama more closely than the official news, as evidenced by the talk in the last post; based on that speculation and online rumors, it sounds like a leading lady is also in the picture, just unreported.
But as for me, I’m not gonna believe anything till it’s got the official go-ahead. The better for protecting myself against hopes being crushed. (Why, Sohn Ye-jin, why?) Speaking of which, final word should really be coming soon, given that the show airs in November following Arang and the Magistrate and will be revving up production in the coming weeks.

Mixed feelings about this.
I love Yoochun but the story sounds so boring and cliche. >< I hope they get a really good actress with a LOT of chemistry with YC. And interesting side characters.

Sung Yuri? Are you kidding me? If you want the drama to fail, just hire her. It's guaranteed to fail for sure.
She's never succeeded in primetime dramas. The only success she's ever had was on her weekend drama Feast Of The Gods.

I read that Yeo Jin Goo and Kim So Hyun are gonna portray 18 year old teens in this drama. Wouldn't that be weird esp. for the girl cause she's just 13? Maybe they should lower the age a little bit, 15 or 16? I think Kim So Hyun was cast coz the PD were eyeing Son Ye Jin and if CJM would take the role, Yeo Jin Goo looks more like him than YC. But the production side also looks solid. CAn't wait to check the 3 series and then I'll decide which one to continue.

Really, 15? Good then.^^ Cause I read the translated synopsis (in a different blog) of them being 18 year old teens having their first love, but then again KSH already played a HS girl in Ma Boy and YJG is already 16-17, so it wouldn't really be awkward. But I'm not really a fan of KSH, but I really like YJG and YC is ok with me. Thanks!^^

He and she, a love like hide-and-seek" I think 15 makes more sense, 18 is quite old enough to protect a girl u love, isn't it

My my, the trolls are already out and about, and the series is barely in pre-production.
It's a lot easier to be incoherently critical than it is to make a positive contribution, isn't it. Some variation like "those who can, do; those who can't, troll."
Full disclosure: I am a big Chun fan. But, even if I weren't, I'd still think we should just wait and see how the series is. It takes more than one or two good actors to make a great drama. Bet we can all think of lots of examples of good cast members who couldn't save badly produced or scripted or directed or... Dramas.

Seems like I contributed to the hostility between Yoon Eun Hye and Yoochun's fandoms, so I am apologizing for that. I know when to admit my mistakes and when to apologize when there is a cause. In this case, it is to not stain Yoon Eun Hye and Yoochun's names with my wrong course of action. I should have taken the high road earlier and just kept my frustrations out of public and just to myself, but if it is not too late, I will do so now. I hope that both fandoms will calm down and think of the cause that we both have, which is seeing them and their possible drama project together succeed. Again, I apologize.

PYC/YEH pairing, I've no problem. It's just that they don't look matching, lol. But guess we'll have to wait and see, you never know. Maybe I'll have to eat my words when the drama airs in November.

Where did you hear the news from? There're so many rumors about the lead actress; I hope they'll announce it soon.
But if it's YEH, rumors said that they'll announce it on her birthday, which will be on the 3rd of October.

The fun has already started before the drama even finalized it's line up. . This is going to be a hit on all fronts. . . .
Never mind the saeguks (got it right?) With all the attention it is getting and if a big female lead is also signed in, , it will give those competitors a run for it's money
I'm sure every one here who are excited for this project to come to fruition will work hard for it.
Give us the final leads fast so we can move on. .

Gawd! i don't know if some people here are being realistic or just being TOO pessimistic..tsk.tsk. The drama hasnt started yet people are having negative feedbacks not only on the premise of the drama but for the actors as well(including the unconfirmed/rumored one,YEH)
Anyways, I'm hoping that YEH sign up for the female lead here(i want to believe she already did,hehe), cause I really want to see her together with PYC!!!

I'm an overseas fan of Korean dramas. I think the cast for I Miss you would be great. With Kim Soo Hyun and Mickey Yoochun on board what more can you ask for. These two actors are very well loved right now FYI in my country. I just hope that they could find the best suited leading lady for Yoochun who is so intense in his acting. I think Park Min Young or Park Shin hye who are great actresses near his age would be considered for this lead actress role. And as for Kim soo Hyun more good drama projects to showcase his excellent acting skills and may he get another acting award. God bless to whoever may complete the cast of this new show.
