Go Hyun-jung’s crime-action comedy Miss Go
by javabeans
Woo, this movie looks awesome, from the teaser posters to the trailer to the spot-on casting. Miss Go is the new action-comedy movie starring Go Hyun-jung (I see that the English title is Miss Conspirator, but honestly I think Miss Go is perfect as it is) playing a wallflower-turned-badass, in what looks to be a fun, zippy ride.
The premise is this: Go Hyun-jung plays an ordinary woman who accidentally becomes witness to a crime by Korea’s top crime organization, and to save herself she transforms herself into a top criminal to join the pack. You can imagine the foibles that occur in the name of whipping her clumsy, mousy self into kickass fighting shape. At stake is a 50 billion won ($40 million) scheme, which is a huge enough sum to make Go Hyun-jung pass out in the trailer. Heh.
The baddies are played by an all-star lineup of actors: “suspicious cop” Sung Dong-il (Chuno, The Client), crime boss millionaire Park Shin-yang (Sign), “the spy who loves her” Yoo Hae-jin (The Unjust, Moss), drug trafficker Lee Moon-shik (The Duo, Giant), and Go Chang-seok (Quick, The Front Line). Lee Won-jong (Wild Romance) plays a quirky psychologist. All in all, that’s quite a mix of scene-stealers and premium supporting actors.
The poster above lists the men actors’ names, then ends with the copy “You all… messed with the wrong person.” The tagline below that reads, “An accidental crime queen.” Haha. But more than anything, I’m digging the cool, mod poster below, which is simple, stylish, and eye-catching. Go Miss Go!
Miss Go releases in June.

This looks interesting. I loved her 'badass' ways in What's up fox? She weaves in vulnerability naturally and in an endearing way.
On a side note, does anyone know what the background score is in the first part of the trailer? I mean it is a well known piece of music or even generic korean trailer score OR is it something I might find on the Miss Go OST?
Thank you.

I LOVE HER!!! Did you guys see her fangirling over TOP on her variety show? Seoulbeats picked it as one of their favorite things about K-Pop a couple of weeks ago.

It is hilarious, partly because it made me like her even more for getting as goofy as I would be if I saw any of the famous guys she has worked with!
This movie looks hilarious. I hope it shows in the states or gets subbed by Christmas. (I'm still waiting for My Chilling Romance).
I am getting far more excited about Korean movies this summer (Thieves, All About My Wife, now this) than I am about any of the US movies coming out. Sigh. I will have to wait and wait and wait . . .

OMG thank you for mentioning it! This film is amazing! The best hilarious-scary-romantic film I've seen lol. Absolutely amazing.... and has some lines I'd never imagine hearing in a rom-com...the scene where he asks her what she wants to do now that she has a boyfriend...that line...

Yeah, that's how her boss (the anchovy-eating Principal in "Dream High 2", and among other dramas like "MNIKSS" & "Rosy Life", etc.) in that porno mag saw her beating her head to concussion in the xerox machine after Jo Yeon-woo's character chuckled at her after doing those ridiculous lines saying she's more beautiful than Lee Hyo-ri's S-Line...
"Misssssssssss(eu) Go..."

I always just remember them arguing because he'd call her her "Miss Go" and she wanted to be "Reporter Go." Those two were hilarious.
Oh man, that was an embarrassing first-encounter. I think that's one of the worst I've seen in a drama. I was so embarrassed for her, but I still found it ridiculously funny.

Unforgettable Lady Kickass Mishil. Go Hyun-jung and Su Ae are my most favorite Korean actresses. I will totally die and go to heaven if they appear together in a movie or drama with Su Ae playing the villain for a change.
I can not wait to see this.Thank you JB :).

She's so cool I want to be her..
you know, there must be some qualities in her to attract younger boys, she's well known close with Chun Jungmyun and Jo Insung ( my faves, that's why I envy her so much )..
I like her as an actress, she can be cool, sassy, and romantic shy girl.

It's a great crime drama with some nice light romance thrown in. They filled the cast with all good reliable players and the bad guys are really creepy bad.
Where else do you get to see HJW for THAT much time? It was his only drama as a lead.

Thanks. I just need the ability to alter time to allow me to squeeze in about another 10 dramas or so to watch in addition what I'm currently watching.
I'm currently watching three time jump dramas, RTP, QIM and JIN. To top it off, I heard an interview of the current Dr.Who on NPR the other day. Can't I do the time travel thing too? :)
Time travel in order to watch more dramas and not to save the world? The Time Lords or whomever prolly wouldn't allow for it.

Just to add . . . HIT was made by the same writing team of Queen Seon Duk (as well as Tree with Deep Roots.) They had such a lovely time together working together during HIT, that they offered her a lead part in QSD.
HIT's a good show. Similar in concept to Song Il Guk's Crime Squad, but much better in execution. Go Hyun Jung is good here. Most actresses would approach the part with a steely focus, but she kinda goes for a dreamy detachment that works well here.

Fabulous supporting cast. In the fainting scene in the trailer, note how each actor not only looks distinctive, they each have a distinct reaction to the faint.
