Lee Seung-gi drops Strong Heart, Kang Ho-dong to return?

Aw, sad day for variety. As if his leaving 1 Night 2 Days isn’t already enough, Lee Seung-gi has confirmed the rumors that he’s leaving his MC post on SBS Tuesday night talk-show-thunderdome Strong Heart. WAH. I’m actually mad at the dramaverse right now, for stealing away my weekly doses of Seung-gi, left and right.
Right on the heels of the initial rumors that Seung-gi would drop Strong Heart was the news that Kang Ho-dong might return. Okay, so there’s a silver lining on this cloud after all. It broke my heart when Ho-dong temporarily retired from the industry last September, after which 1N2D continued on without him, and Seung-gi flew solo on Strong Heart.
In a perfect world, he’d return and Seung-gi would stay put, and they’d go back to being the dynamic duo and my favorite tv bromance, but it looks like the timing is off for a reunion just now. I suppose it’s at least a good juncture to motivate Ho-dong’s return, since what on earth Strong Heart would do without EITHER main MC is unthinkable.
Seung-gi will reportedly be focusing his time and energy on his new drama King 2 Hearts, as well as album promotions in Japan. His last episode of Strong Heart has yet to be decided, but it looks like it’ll be mid-March, to coincide with the premiere of his drama. At this point, Ho-dong is the only one who can swoop in and save this soon-to-be-captain-less ship, otherwise I’ll be turning the channel elsewhere, and I don’t think I’ll be the only one.

This is great news! Kang Dong Ho is the man. Plus, I thought Lee Seung Gi really couldn't carry the show on this own with KDH.

Wowjust wow. I'm kinda relieved for him though, he's returning to what made him famous and I presume his number 1 passion, still...
Back to basics for LSG! Well it's not like he needs the exposure, he's mighty famous, wishing him success for his future endeavors, and as for KHD hurry up and return Prease!

nope, sorry to burst people's bubble. but the PD's @ SBS said its not true :( (about Hodong coming back) i wish it was true. i need my dose of hodong at least once a week! T__T (i miss him on 1N2D)
also, seunggi is in talks of hosting a new variety show on SBS (100 Talks At the Dinner Table?) or something like that. LOL

I know how you feel Girlfriday. I would've preferred that he stay on variety because that way I see him more often. What am I gonna do after King 2 Hearts then? Ugh... We need a new Ho-Seung program! I hope after his promotions in Japan, he can settle again on another show in Korea.

Nooo, I want Lee Seung Gi to stay in Strong Heart. And Kang Ho should return as well. I really liked the two together. Now this new seung Gi Kingheart 2 or 2 Heart King or whatever the name is better be worth all this...

i seriously hope koreans in korea who know english would email MBC about the name. a big budget production drama with two superstars in it and a high calibre of supporting roles with that kind of drama title? i mean, sure titles don't matter because everything relies on the plot and acting, but why not have all of those plus a decent title? that's not too hard.

I'm really curious who actually decides on the title because there has to be at least one person in the company who knows enough English to realize how silly the titles are sometimes. I mean...there are plenty of actors who themselves speak English, couldn't they have a say in this...?

I'd work with them, too.....they're cuties. Young enough to be my kids....but still cuties. I'd marry one off to my daughter, and have adorable grandbabies, lol.
But, I think whoever wrote about the name change (JB or GF) implied that the Korean name didn't make any more sense than the English one.

I completely agree. "The King" was better even if it was too generic. Ugh. When I first heard about this, I imagined Seung-gi a king with a fetish for strip poker. I know the drama'll be great for me since there's Seunggi, but the title...please!

This is a sad news indeed. Unfortunately, the only LSG I know is LSG in variety shows. I never knew (or never really into) LSG the singer/actor. I am sure he's a great singer/actor but I felt that when LSG the singer/actor, there are some distance between him and his fans. LSG in variety shows seems approachable and he's like a childhood friend that we all have :(
I wish him all the best. I'll not be following LSG the singer. Him as actor maybe (depending on the story). But I'll definitely miss him and will waiting for his return to variety shows.

I love variety Seunggi best, because he's the cutest thing alive when he's just being himself and i get a weekly dose of that for years long, unlike dramas.
However, if Seunggi can only be in 1 variety show, i prefer to have him in a show like 1n2d more than as an mc for a talkshow like SH. One, i get more of seunggi, instead of the other guests which I hardly care for. Two, less work for him since single-handedly hosting a show require him too much preparation for someone who needs to juggle singing and acting career as well.
So, since he's leaving 1n2d and SH now, i hope there's a new one coming after his drama. Please dont leave variety Seunggi-yah!
but i can totally understand if he wants to focus more on music and acting now. His passion is in his music most, its his root. it must be disappointing to him to not have enough time for his music and singing and even lose voice from variety. but yeah, i'll be sad when King 2 Heart finishes. we wont get to see Seunggi on tv consistently anymore.

Sometimes I forget that the whole MC-ing is not really his main 'job'.. Still.. He managed everything alongside 1n2d, so why is he dropping everything at once... Anyways, good luck on his new ventures!

Whoooo ~ Lee Seung Gi FINAAALLY have to go back to K-dramaland now after he had been working as a host in Strong Heart show for....like...about 2 years, of course.
NOW....It'd be GOOD if Kang Ho Dong may be back to his work to made all of people so haaappy. ;)

It's sad but I will keep watching this show as I like the way they bring fun in to this variety program.

I keep having flashbacks to 1n2d moments when KHD would ask LSG if he could really live without him....You know what? I think the answer is a little bit closer to "no" that we thought. Makes me smile and sniffle at the same time.
