Shin Se-kyung returns to High Kick for a cameo

Shin Se-kyung (Tree With Deep Roots) may be a household name now, but she can thank the High Kick franchise for making her known to the mainstream public when she was one of the members of the second season, High Kick Through the Roof. Like many High Kick alumni before her, she’s returning to make a cameo appearance, and shot her segment on January 4 at the sitcom’s MBC Dream Center set in Ilsan.

For her Counterattack of the Short Legs cameo, Shin will play a different character than the one she played in her own season. (If for no other reason than that her character arc ended very conclusively in her series — no spoilers here, but you can refer to this post about the ending of Season 2 if you’re curious.)

Not many details are out other than that she’ll be paired in a storyline with Yoon Kye-sang, who is a doctor at a public health clinic in the show. Aw, poor Jin-hee. Will she be crushed to be bypassed by Kye-sang (albeit unknowingly) once more? Some fans have suggested that this is a roundabout allusion to Shin Se-kyung’s one-sided loveline with Daniel Choi’s doctor character in her season, which I suppose is true in that there’s always an element of fanservice in cameo appearances with old cast members. But I trust the show to do a solid job of incorporating her appearance into its narrative smoothly, as it did with Jung Il-woo’s cameo a couple months ago.

Shin Se-kyung’s episode in High Kick 3 will air next week.

Didn't like her character in High Kick 2...ruined the whole series for me :(

Though not as silly and outgoing as the other High Kick 2 characters, she's still one of my favorite characters from the series. Can't wait to see her and Yoon Kye Sang!

I'm excited to watch this. I really want her character in High Kick 2 to end up with Yoon Shi Yoon's character. But ohh well.. ^^

OHEMGEE I actually wanted her character Se Kyung, to end up with Daniel Choi at the end. And I guess in a very brutal way I got what I wished for with the ending.

Anyway back to this season, haha so funny pairing her with Yoon Kye Sang such parallelism. And Jin Hee is also sort of like the Hwang Jung Eum character of this season as well. Interesting. I am think Se Kyung is probably going to play some sort of former love interest too Kye Sang. And maybe she will be the reason he lacks interest in girls. And poor Jin Hee. awwwww.

And still waiting for Jung Eum, Yoon Shi Yoon and Daniel Choi cameo as well. Oh and of course Seo Shin Ae and Jin Hee!!!! :)

She's known for being a "bagel girl," which is a combination of the terms "BAby-faced" and "GLamorous body." (In Korea, glamorous means voluptuous). She is the next generation's Kim Hyesoo.

Also, she shot to fame with her bed scene in the movie Ogamdo, aka Five Senses of Eros, not High Kick 2. She has since starred in various commercials that have showcased her curves, such as lingerie, soju and yoga advertisements.

I wonder if they'll make another allusion to Shin Se-kyung's abrupt ending during her cameo. Still can't believe how badly they messed up Season 2 for me. They'd better not ruin it for Season 3!

this is totally off topic but now i can see clearly the gold thingie stucked on her dress. im not a fashion expert but i dont see it useful except making it a 3D ornaments? shud stick to the sequins.

anyway, i love SSK ever since her appearance in My Little Bride as MGY's best friend
