Yoon Shi-yoon replaces injured Kim Jae-won in Me Too, Flower!
by javabeans
Finally, a decision: Yoon Shi-yoon (Baker King Kim Tak-gu) has been tapped to replace Kim Jae-won in the rom-com drama Me Too, Flower!, as the latter will be in recovery for a dislocated shoulder sustained while shooting the drama. Kim had wanted to stick with the drama despite the circumstances, but ultimately everyone decided it best that the injured actor get some rest.
My first reaction was worry (Yikes, they’re losing Kim Jae-won after all! Wither the hero?), then relief (Oh, they’ve got a replacement lined up? Okay then), then confusion (So baby-cheeked twentysomething Yoon Shi-young is playing the same role as post-army thirty-year-old Kim Jae-won?), then a shrug (At least they got an actor to step in with only two weeks till the premiere — best not be picky). Phew, I’m all worn out from the roller-coaster.
First and foremost, I’m glad that Kim Jae-won won’t be trying to soldier on with what sounds like a substantial injury. Commitment and loyalty is one thing; being able to regain use of your arm is another.
However, I’m not any less concerned about the drama, especially since Yoon Shi-yoon will be joining the shoots mid-week. NEXT WEEK. That gives the drama two weeks to shoot and edit two episodes, and the show will essentially be in live shoots from the get-go.
Curious note: Can’t Lose wraps up next week, so Me Too, Flower! ought to be starting on October 26, but its premiere date is now set for November 2. I wonder what MBC will slot in for that blank week — and more to the point, why they can’t then slot in another week of specials/news/filler to give Flower more breathing room. Sure, you might be giving away one week of ratings competition to the rivals, but surely that’s better than putting on a drama prematurely and ensuring that the next two months are gone to waste as well?

Here I was still hoping for MBC to pick up What's Up instead to fill in while they try to re-organize Me Too Flower's filming situation.
well, at least KJW gets to rest and I hope he recovers well.

Same here. It would make the most sense as they'd get a ton of breathing space, maybe be able to keep their original actor, and not jump immediately into live shoots. Or at least give plenty of space with the new actor. Come on! Some take this drama up!

Didn't read the post or any of the comments bc I'm currently watching Baker King Kim Tak Goo and am deathly afraid of spoilers, but I just wanted to say YOON SHI YOON!!!! I adore this kid!! I don't find him good looking, but there's something so endearingly sad-puppy adorable about him in BK.

Too bad this doesn't discuss BKKTG at all, so no spoilers here. If anything, you should read this because you "adore" YSY and would most likely want to see him in another drama.
___
TBH, I haven't seen either one in a drama. I've only seen YSY on variety shows and he was adorable there. Glad that an actor isn't taking one for the team for a change and even more so, that the production team are the ones telling him to rest. I wish him a quick recovery! If waiting an extra week or two will prove beneficial to the drama, I (and probably other viewers as well) can wait, who wants a middling drama anyway?

Kim Jae Won is 30? It's Asian Actor Requirement #1 - look way younger than you are.
Anyhow, I'm just glad he's not trying to grind through it. Healthy Yoon Shi Yoon is better than a half-sick Kim Jae Won.

KJW and YSY are only like 5 years apart and both are baby-faced, so I guess it isn't too big of a jump.
Anyways, glad KJW can focus on resting!

Forget the age gap as long as the two can fully immerse the role they are portraying. Anyway LJA has a youthful beauty , in fact she was even paired off with Jang Geun Suk in Beethoven Virus, who is a year younger than Yoon Shi Yoon, so why the hassle. Just wait to for the drama to be aired then comment. Some netizens are counting the chicks and even classified its color whether yellow or white before they are hatch.

whoa that was fast and wierd.....I mean how can YSY replace Kim Jae Won??....they're nothing like each other....makes me worry a bit about the character they were supposed to be playing....also I can't see him with Lee Ji Ah..Kim Jae Won kinda worked with her but definitely not Yoon Shi Yoon...also all these random actor switcheroos lately are giving me a bit of a headache..I mean first he was supposed to be in the Vegetable store drama but now he's in this and Ji Chang wook will be in that and No Min Woo confirms (or was that a false news??) for Full House 2 and then we hear that he might be in for Vampire Idol

I agree..I'm not happy with this replacement either. Kim Jae Won and Yoon Shi Yoon each have a different appeal to me. In my mind, KJW's appeal fit the character, but YSY seems way to boyish to play the same character.

LOL i like YSY and all but seriously, is korea in a shortage of good actors in their late 20's/early 30's? you go from KJW to YSY? ::scratches head:: but then again, if the 2nd leads are going to be nickhun and lee ki kwang, then i guess he fits the part.

I'm probably the only one worried about Lee Ji Ah!
I've been really looking forward to this drama just so she could come back. And I was SOOO SAD when Kim Jae Won got injured... all I could think of was LJA's bad luck!
(for the record, I love Kim Jae Won too)

He is very pretty, so it fits, right?
What does he sound like, though? KJW has that wonderful low and rumbly voice that puts a masculine spin on his unusually pale skin and unearthly looks. Oh, and he moves very masculinely, somehow...His hands are very...uh-oh! there I go again.

I love both YSY and KJW.....so I'm still excited....am curious how is YSY in a totally different role as I'm so used to his image as Kim Tak Gu....He's got some mannerism as TK like biting his lips and those familiar smile....this will test his versatility.
Eugene was also older than YSY and I think they had enough chemistry...even better in my opinion than the other girl in BKTG....so not really worried ..although since they changed the male casting...don't they have an excuse to change the female as well....cough LJH cough i mean there's 8 yrs apart...they better do something while they can.

sad for KJW, but well, that's life.
I agree they should give more time to develop and prepare this upcoming series because MBC has been long losing the ratings for this timeslot. They should put in some filler one-shots.

Hope KJW has speedy recovery!!
As for YSY...I've been waiting for his next project ever since BKKTG.
I was so excited when I read he was to do 'Bachelor's Veggie Store' but then disappointed again that he got replaced by JWC.
Now, this drama. I feel a little uncertain. As much as I love YSY and I am fine with LJA, I just can't see them as a pair. I really want YSY come back drama to be something great. Hopefully, my feeling is wrong and that this turns out to be just as amazing as BKKTG!
No matter what, will support YSY in whatever projects he picks! Fighting!!!

Kim Jae Won's replacement looks like a child. How is he going to romance two 30 something year old without people calling them cougars is beyond me, but I wish them luck. Yoon looks like he should look for role playing teenagers or college student not playboy.

Yoon Si Yoon is an actor after all! He should be capable of playing different roles. Your impression of an actor is to play a role based on what he initially look like. May be you are a fangirl who don't know acting in a deeper sense because idol actors are so so and more of a fling in the industry!

I'm so glad YSY's back. Kim Tak Guk was awesome. I dont care about the minor age skews. This drama is my favorite so far. Who cares about age, he looked fit for the parking boy YSY and LJA have good chemistry. If the script and acting is awesome, who thinks this drama is bad? I dont. Give the cast a break...seriously people. They are people too.
I love the cast. Chemistry is Beast's Ki gwang? That was an unexpected gift. Thanks. :) <3
