MBC buys some time with one-act dramas
by javabeans
When scheduling its new Wednesday-Thursday drama Me Too, Flower, MBC had left one week of a gap between Flower’s premiere and end of Can’t Lose. I’d been wondering what they’d use to fill that time, and turns out they’ve slotted in a few one-act specials (both of which have previously aired) as a stopgap.
I suspect that MBC was really hoping that the Can’t Lose extension would run longer, because with Me Too, Flower held back by a last-minute hero switch, it just wasn’t going to be ready to make a premiere right away. But this begs the question: Why not buy another week, then? Yoon Shi-yoon only JUST joined filming this week; I’m sure the show could use more time.
As for the programming itself:
First up is a one-act drama called It’s Me, Grandma, which stars two wonderful actresses, veteran Na Mun-hee (Believe in Love) and rising child/teen actor Nam Ji-hyun (Queen Seon-deok, Giant). It originally aired in September 2010, and rebroadcasts next Wednesday, October 26.
Jo Eun-ji’s Family originally aired in October 2010 and stars Lee Hye-eun (Grand Prix) and Ahn Nae-sang (High Kick 3). It airs next Thursday, October 27.
Me Too, Flower! premieres the week after, on November 2.

I like one-act dramas. They are never amazing, but often cute and entertaining enough to satisfy.
But can't wait for Me Too, Flower! - I'm hoping it's half-decent as except for One Thousand Kisses I haven't watched any drama (only films) lately. I can't do any of the tragic-ending ones that are on at the moment....

Actually... we (chingu fansubs - http://www.chingufansubs.zzl.org) subbed this recently (from the original 2010 release).
It's a lovely little drama and it was a delight to watch the relationship develop between the two characters played by Na Mun-hee and Nam Ji-hyun.

Na Mun-hee is one of my faves. I loved her in Unstoppable High Kick... she cracked me up! Oh and the way she beat on Binnie in MNIKSS...priceless!

Is it bad that instead of "stopgap" I read "stopgag"?

Well I assume they couldn't buy another week because the stars of Can't Lose didn't want to.
